Let me be the 250th review of NetSol and what it means to the US. Firstly * Network Solutions is the first Domain Registrar, quite a big deal. Emmit McHenry an engineer won a National Science Foundation contract in 1991 to manage domain name registrations for .com, .net and .org tlds. Ty Grigsby, Gary Desler, and Ed Peters were his tech partners which initially back in 1979.working on programming with IBM before going into setting up Domain Name structure. The company has been sold a few times and now sadly is part of a massive consolidation of all huge digital titans like the big hosting company Hostgator etc. As a result soooo many US and other nations business are run with their domains and website hosting accounts under this new ownership by a Jacksonville Florida company called Newfold Digital. You can only get a person overseas who invariable when something needs an escalation cannot get a live person that can do anything. Honestly it is so serious and puts sooo many US and other businesses at risk. Imagine a top company needing a problem solved for their primary businesses website and not being able to resolve it? That is what has occurred not once but twice in my experience. With the Hostgator acquistio, had an overseas salesperson try to shake us down for over 2k on the Hostator back up needed which used to be part of customer service.. Then the Netsol 29 years ago, registered domain of a not for profit of which I am a member needed a reset password after an employee reset the password and failed to return it, they literally took forever ignoring a NYS Supreme Court order and were blatantly non compliant. They wasted days saying the same claim that it would be done in 24 hours, repeatedly day after day. I think because they may have ONE legal person and the desk is piled up. Metaphorically. Likely ten thousand emails for one actual attorney to read. No idea but that would be my guess with how they cannot respond to a NYS Supreme Court demand with a deadline which they missed and keep missing. Imagine being just a person with no lawyer or court ruling? Forget about it! Quite simply they are greed mongers buying up all US digital assets and firing real qualified staff to save money and leaving all US Businesses that entrusted Netsol, Hostgaor and other top digital companies customers at great risk. They should be broker up due to the way they have put US businesses at risk and are not capable of managing what they wrestled into a large conglomerate of digital assets. I made a complaint to both the Florida AG and to ICANN the actual boss of all the registrars for them not being compliant. They are semi regulated by both.. IF this happens to you... please do the same until they have to improve or something gets done. Good luck if left on hold for weeks and nothing done as asked. This is a total disaster of consolidation. read more

I would NOT recommend Network Solutions until they correct their shady billing policies and horrible customer service. Network Solutions' policy is to automatically add charges to your bill you did not ask for. If you do not notice in the next 30 days, they will not refund the overcharge. Network Solutions' policy is basically: "WE WILL OVERCHARGE YOU UNLESS YOU STOP US IN 30 DAYS." Last year, Network Solutions tried to sneak 10 extra emails onto my account. When I caught it, they still snuck an extra one on my account I did not want or ask for. They didn't offer it to me - they just stuck it on in secret hoping I would not notice the extra charge. I didn't catch it and now they won't even deduct the overcharge from my renewal. It took just over 3 hours to get them to offer a 10% discount. When I persisted, they eventually offered me 15% off the price they just jacked up. As soon as that conversation ended, another agent jumped in offering me 20% off part of it, but he quoted me the full price, until I pointed that out. Then he redid the math. Oh, and their agents can't actually do much. I have to call back and do it "manually" to get the discount some of them tell me I'll get. After over 4 hours, the only thing they did was deduct the bogus charge - allegedly. The second agent told me it was deducted but it was still there when the third agent contacted me. Network Solutions agents are terribly trained. Two of them had to be asked 4 or 5 times for the total bill before they would give it to me. They kept giving me partial totals whenever they bothered to reply. They will not focus on you. They keep wandering off. You have to repeat everything. Dealing with Network Solutions used to be a pleasure. Now it is a complete nightmare that seems to be designed to infuriate and alienate longtime customers. NETWORK SOLUTIONS TRIES TO BE SLIMY. I wish I could give Network Solutions a negative number of stars. ALL their 3 and 4- star reviews are from 2011. After that, it's all bad reviews. It looks like they have zero interest in addressing customer concerns. read more

I was with Powweb for many years, then Network Solutions bought it, and that's when the nightmare began. Emails kept failing all the time--I couldn't send or receive them. The last time, they "migrated" and renamed the databases without notifying me, and my clients' websites stopped working. They caused me to lose money, so I asked them for some kind of compensation. What a lousy provider! read more

This company is completely unethical! I was with Constant Contact until the end of 2025 when I closed my business due to a move to a different state. Network solutions who absorbed Constant Contact began billing me monthly for services I never signed up for and was charging them against an expired credit card. I called "customer service" twice and twice was assured a refund would be made. Within 2 days of the assurance I recieved an email saying their services (which I never signed for, never use and never wanted) was nonrefundable. They are lyers and theives! read more

On 06/10/26, Network Solutions, LLC (parent company is Newfold Digital, Inc.), maliciously deleted thousands and thousands of my work emails (each and every single one of them), going back to year 2014 (when I signed on to the company in 2014, it was still Web.com.) I was having problems with Network Solutions continuously locking me out of my email account every so often, which each time I have to call them so they can unlock my account and receive my new emails. So when I finally had enough, I signed up with a well-known IT company, and when I called Network Solutions (I hadn't canceled my service yet at that time), to get my account unlocked, which I told Network Solutions that I need my password to work so the new company can migrate my emails into their server. As I was on the phone with Network Solutions customer service representative, I was able to unlock my account, and saw the 06/10/26 new emails pop up, but to my horror, I saw within a blink of an eye, ALL my emails prior to 06/10/26, going all the way back to 2014, disappearing so fast! All emails in my in-box, all emails in my email folders, EVERYTHING, GONE! Each and every email, thousands and thousands of my work emails all gone. I also used it for my personal finances, all them emails all gone as well. The representative said not to worry, that he'll escalate the case to recover my emails. After calling Network Solutions every single day, I finally receive an email to my personal email account, stating that they cannot recover my emails. I called Network Solutions, and they confirmed on the phone that the emails cannot be recovered. This has a tremendous negative impact on my business, and will continue to harm my business for years to come. I have sent two emails to Network Solutions legal department, and they have not responded. I have spoke to an attorney to see what my options are, and I will be suing Network Solutions, LLC for the damages that they have caused me. Stay away from this company. read more

This is the most deceptive company. I was signed up for a domain name similar to the one I have with the company on a "promotion" it was set to auto renew and I didn't catch that it renewed for 5 years with the addition of "privacy and protection" which I also never signed up for. Customer service then used deceptive practices to keep the billing costs from me. I am reporting this company for deception and lack of transparency to the better business bureau. Be careful with auto renew and look for any domain names similar to one you have that you will inadvertently be charged hundreds of dollars for. read more

If Network Solutions, LLC had put as much effort into resolving my issue as it did into sending me urgent notification upon notification or ridiculous requests to upload government issued identification documents to verify my identity, just to speak to someone, I might still be a customer. Get your head around that. What are they, NASA? With all their AI and bots, they have failed miserably at customer service. All I wanted to do was redirect my domain elsewhere, and they literally held my business hostage because I wouldn't submit to their absurd verification process. Luckily, my sidekick company is a start up business, so I changed the company online name slightly, and hosted it where I have my main business. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere to purchase a domain name or host your services. read more

I've been having an issue accessing my account. First I had to get through a long, frustrating interaction with a retarded AI algorithm before discussing the situation with a human. The rep finally explained the account recovery process, which necessitated uploading 3 forms of ID. Sent that to them. But no, now they want biometric data from me to be collected by another company with a worrisome privacy policy. I have been paying NS via automated bill pay and I can't cancel the account without submitting to their impossible demands for more information. I've lived at the same address for more than 30 years. Should be easy for them to confirm I am who I say I am. read more

They are holding my domain hostage. I am a new owner in my company and do not have access to the old email it was registered with. I have submitted 8 requests on separate occasions because they keep closing my ticket in less than the 7 days required to respond. I recently moved my entire service package away from Network Solutions, including both my domain registration and my professional email service, after realizing how expensive their renewal fees and add-on services had become compared to other providers. Earlier this year I was billed for domain registration, domain privacy, and professional email services. After transferring my domain and moving my email service to another provider, I contacted Network Solutions customer support to ask if a partial refund could be issued for the unused portion of those services. The representative explained that refunds are only available within 30 days of the charge, and because my request was outside that window, they were unable to issue any refund or prorated credit. To their credit, the customer support representative I spoke with was polite and helped confirm that auto-renew had been turned off for the remaining services so I would not be charged again in the future. However, the strict 30-day refund policy can be surprising if you later decide to move your services elsewhere. Customers considering Network Solutions should review the renewal pricing and refund policies carefully before purchasing services. read more

Following the takeover of my previous provider by Network Solutions, my website became inaccessible and remains so. Previously, I had a simple all-in-one service covering domain registration, hosting, and email. As a non-technical user, this worked reliably and required no ongoing management. I paid approximately £200 believing this would continue the same service. I later discovered this payment covered domain registration only and did not include hosting -- something that was not made clear during the process. Despite contacting support, the issue has not yet been fully resolved and my website is still not accessible. This has caused ongoing disruption and considerable frustration. My advice to others, especially small businesses or non-technical users, is to be extremely cautious following provider takeovers and to confirm precisely what services are included before paying. read more

I have been having issues sending email from Outlook to gmail accounts for around 6 months and really need to get this fixed so I spent the last 2 weeks heavily researching the problem. It looks like I need to add a spf record to my domain name which is hosted by Network Solutions. I worked with 4 different people which the first one said I need to get the spf record from Microsoft which of course you cannot get in touch with Microsoft cause of all the red tape and almost got scammed by calling a fake Microsoft help line which I should have known it was a scam because someone actually answered the phone and had a heavy indian accent with a whole lot of other people with indian accents in the background. A girl tried to input the info but apparently input it wrong. The next 2 guys both sounded very confident they input it correct and that it would solve my issue which it did not. Doing more research I found what I think if the correct spf record but was not sure the exact format to input which I would assume Network Solutions knows exactly how the format should be so instead of me trying to guess I called again and spoke to a girl named Anne. OMG was she something else. She was polite but just could not or would not just answer my question and only had excuses of why she cannot help me even though I emailed them all of the information. We got to the point where she said she can input the spf record but cannot guaranty it will work. After like 3 times of saying that I had to tell her I never asked for a guaranty or even any assurance it will work I just need you input the spf information in the correct format which she kept rambling on about what information do I want her to input which is exactly why I was calling them was I don't know what information from the information I had was the info for the spf. There was a .net and a ip address which as I told her I don't know if we need to input both or just one and which one would it be. Sorry to say I ended up hanging up on her. After all my own research believe it or not I finally got it to work! Cheehoo! It was actually quite easy and again I am amazed that no one at Network Solutions knew how to do it. First off they input 2 spf records which apparently you can only have one if not both will be declined and if you need to input more than one it needs to be merged together which I did and the info I needed was on my email set up which again Newtwrok Solutions just need to ask how my email is set up and that ia ll the information they would have needed. I am so relieved I finally got it working! read more

I am very unhappy with my experience with Bluehost network solutions--I built my website in May of this year. My website has now been hacked. But I want to access the Bluehost website as if I was a new customer. Horrible! I created a domain name, then setup a transfer for my website. It looked like I could do this myself online so I set it up. It didn't work. THE TRANSFER STILL DOES NOT WORK! On top of that, they sell your information to web design businesses. I'm getting so many calls and emails, I had to start blocking them. This has been the most harrowing experience trying to get a resolution. My company's emails went down 3 days ago and they have yet to contact me or resolve the problem. The "back office team" is not reachable and the level 1 representative merely provides a scripted answer each time. We pay a lot of money to Netwok Solutions for their products and services. If I could give this company a minus, I would. I started with this company when it was new! I was thrilled to have my own .com website and all the great service they provided. they have been professional, responsible and helpful, until they sold or somehow partnered with a web/cloud company. then, things got complicated. I had to argue with them to keep the old format. In the end, though, they did, and my six office emails continued to function well. Then, over the past several months, one of my boxes was swamped with spam. Threats, porn, grifters, garbage. As a law firm, we spotted it and kept going. BUT NOW. Network solutions has somehow been snapped up under the umbrella of Newfold Digital Inc. The CEO is female and apparently up for some award from her peers for doing a great job supporting women. but you know what? In the process of their takeover, they erased at least SIX weeks of my office inbox. Now, the entire staff works off that inbox and we do not file contents but every two months. We have court dates and calendars. We have CLIENTS who send us documents on that email address. BUT WE DON't EVEN KNOW WHO HAS ACCESS to those documents at this time. We do not know where they are. We do not know what human hand is accomplishing the so-called "Move" that network solutions informed me was being done to a new platform! When I asked, what contract did I sign, when I engaged you folks, allowed you to take my emails, effectively steal my emails? she admitted none. I had not ever given permission to have my emails moved to some unknown "cloud" space. They will argue that they sent an email stating my email was expiring. They can't do that, I am paid up. So that NOTICE is not HONEST. Anybody reading this: Ms. Rowland should not receive any award for helping women in business. I am a woman in business, now, for nearly 50 years. And my business has been successful until her company started imposing arrogance and conceit that they know what is the future of business communication. The original Network Solutions platform has been great for our company. We thoroughly enjoyed it for the first 15 years of our business You can bet that there is no way we will be continuing the service. And so what if it means losing a .com website name. Been with them for about 15 years. They went from great, to sucky, and now they're absolutely horrible. They make it very difficult to transfer to a new domain registrar. I've added screenshots of the steps for transferring away from them. You need to request an EPP code. Follow the steps in my screenshots. They email it in 3 days. Then go back to the domain details and turn privacy off. Then have your new service provider contact them. Your new provider will need that EPP code. Then NS makes you wait for another 3-5 days before turning the domain over. IMPORTANT: During this process, they will send you multiple emails begging you to stay and/or threatening you with dire consequences. They will imply that you need to click a link in their email to continue the process. This is BS. You'll end up talking to their marketing team, who will pressure you to stay. Just ignore all of their emails! After you get the code and turn off privacy, you don't need to communicate with them any further. read more

Network solutions is another example of a company that has become too big and can't service and manage its customers properly and does not care. They just deleted a hosting package of ours in error for some of our secondary websites and even though the hosting was valid until July 14 2023 they lost our sites when they deleted the hosting package and then their solution was for us to buy a new hosting package to recover our sites ( which I did to recover my sites and then deal with $$ later but after multiple ticket escalations and hours of my time on the phone with customer service that will not allow me to talk to real tech support they have informed they could not recover my sites. Please read update below 7/10/14 The company Network solutions has apparently become the "masters of deceit" with their aggressive marketing and railroading customers unknowingly into "upgraded service" when they are under the impression of just setting up some basics in their account. I have been using Network solutions since the mid 90's due to the large amount of experience in Domain handling, quick tech support and reasonable pricing. Wow, that has changed quite a bit! The control and management panel is constantly full of windows that appear to be alerts to continue your set up of newly acquired domains and/or email, however, as you click through all of the setup options, you are unaware that you are in the process of "upgrading" your service with Networksolutions. Once this was realized with me, it took many phone calls to cancel the "upgraded service". Afterwards, going back to my panel to set up what's included with my "basic" web hosting package, I inadvertently enlisted in an "upgraded service" again! When first signing up with a hosting solution, you are presented with 3 options with very low monthly fees for even the best service, but the prices shown are just for the first month, and after that, it's considerably higher. Also, month to month service is billed every 4 weeks, so that adds up to 13 billing cycles every year. That really sucks. What happened to the good old fashioned honorable company they once were? I will see if I can post some screenshots of the "trickery windows" that appear in my account manager. Here are important issues I would like to see addressed with Network Solutions: 1: Have the account management panel totally separate from anything that shows the services that are being sold for new customers. Once signed in, the menu bar is confusing and looks like the windows are tabs to access features of your control panel, but just leads to the services that are offered. 2: Have a concise and clear explanation of what is included in your web hosting package you have purchased, such as, "this is what is included in your basic email package", and "this is what is include in the essential web hosting package". 3: Get rid of the misleading setup windows that lead you unknowingly to upgrades and instead put a clearly marked window with something like " you can upgrade your email service here and get this extra feature if you wish." 4: Enable a feature to cancel a particular service instead of having to call customer support. With enough complaints, maybe Network solutions will change and modify their policies towards a clear and concise display of what you are actually signing up for. Update 7/10/14 I've added one extra star for a total of 2 stars because Network Solutions (now a web.com company) has improved a bit, but they have more to do in reference to what I have described above. Here are the latest improvements: No more billing mistakes - I have been conveniently billed ONCE each 4 week cycle for my web hosting services (as mentioned before, it's not monthly billing). Network solutions now provides the ability to turn off "automatic renew" in your control panel instead of having to call customer service - big improvement. My Domains are expiring soon and it's time to renew. I only do it by the year and don't have it in my budget to commit for a longer term yet in order to save some dough. There are other domain companies, such as name.com and namecheap.com that offer domain renewals (you have to transfer to them) for under 10 bucks a year, EVERY year, instead of hooking you with a cheap first year domain fee and then banging you with a much higher fee when it's time to renew - this is what many hosting companies depend on to bring in big time dough. Guess what? Most hosting companies are willing to negotiate a cheaper yearly fee if you simply ask if they will match other domain registers before you switch. You will most likely be switched to a customer care specialist that has the authority to modify their pricing terms in order to retain you as a customer. Just make sure they know that you intend to transfer your domains to another company if they can't match, or come close to the competition. For the newbies out there, Domain registration is separate from domain hosting, and it's possible to use 2 different companies for each. I'm staying with Network solutions for now just to make things simple. read more

This company operates like the government and thinks they can do no wrong and people must stay... no longer. yayyyyy. Celebration for me today! read more

I'm really unhappy with my experience with Network Solutions. I have a domain name that I've had for a while that I refuse to give up. I don't do anything with it so every year I have this internal debate on whether I should keep paying to keep it. The cost isn't trivial (hence the debate) but I always end up just shrugging my shoulders and keeping it. I had auto-renewal turned off in case I changed my mind and it's always such a painful process to renew as they make you step through page after page where they try to upsell you services I didn't want/need. I never bothered shopping around for other domain name registrars because I didn't want to go through the hassle of doing that (shame on me). I decided this was the year I would shop around and I was shocked at what I found. Each year I was paying $39.99 for the renewal of my domain name and $15.99 for the renewal of private registration for that domain name. Remember this is not for a website or any other functionality associated with the domain name. The domain name registrar I transfered to charges less than $20 a year for BOTH the domain name renewal and private registration. That is an enormous cost difference. Network Solutions also makes it quite painful to leave them. All domain name transfers require an "auth code" as part of the process to verify that you are indeed the owner of the domain name. I was shocked that after I requested my auth code that I was told it would be delivered in THREE days for security reasons. If security was the true reason for this delay wouldn't emailing the owner of the domain name saying "Hey, did you request an auth code?" be a top priority? I received no such correspondence. Since I had three days to kill I researched how some of the top registrars handle this. Almost all of them let you generate your auth code immediately. After three days I was emailed an auth code. Once I initiated the transfer with the auth code in another four days the domain name transfer away from Network Solutions took place. The one positive thing I can say is that I was able to do all of this without any complications and without having to call them. read more

For all the money I've spent on this company, being a "Premier Gold VIP Customer" means absolutely nothing. (later) After a few calls finally got a refund for something I didn't want. CAVEAT: Don't pay for anything unless the salesperson repeats back to you what you want three times. read more

Network Solutions - eCommerce Customer Care - Web Design Near Me - Herndon, Virginia

Totally incompetent. From a tech and customer service point of view. Senior management couldn't care less. I would short web.com, parent company of Network Solutions EG: I received an email asking questions of me with a NOREPLY return email. noreply@networksolutions.com Do you think they wanted a response? read more

I had been a client of Network Solutions for more than 23 years. They were not hosting my website (thank God!) but my domain name was registered with them. The problem was that the company that had originally registered the domain with them in my name was not around anymore. They had put my name as part of the tech team, but not as primary contact. Nonetheless, I was still the owner of the domain name and I was the person paying the bills. Recently, because I realized their registration fees were actually much higher than other companies (seriously, how could they possibly justify that?), I was thinking of transferring my domain name to another company. When I went to turn off the automatic payment renewal in my account, I realized that, EVEN AS THE PAYING OWNER OF THE DOMAIN NAME, I COULD NOT CONTROL THAT OPTION, AND I COULD NOT DO ANYTHING AT ALL ON MY OWN DOMAIN NAME.I contacted them. They explained that I had to be the primary contact in order to do that, and that I had to fill a form and provide specific documents to transfer the primary contact from the former company to my name. I then explained that the former company didn't exist anymore and I was the only person handling everything, therefore, no one would be able to provide signatures or documents on behalf of the other company. OMG. It was like opening a can of worms. I spent the past SEVERAL MONTHS being bounced from office to office, explaining my situation again and again, exchanging email after email, being told different stories, that the issue was simple and almost resolved, then it was not, then that the docs I sent were not the right ones, then that I needed to get some of them notarized --which I did-- all this to finally have them tell me that the documents were missing the "clause of indemnisation" which I had no idea what it was. All this to simply transfer a name, even as my account CLEARLY SHOWED THAT I WAS THE OWNER AND THE FINANCIAL SOURCE OF THE DOMAIN NAME. After all this time and money wasted for absolutely no result, I was so frustrated with these guys that I had enough. I could see this game was going nowhere. I had to ABANDON MY DOMAIN NAME. After 23 years. I replaced it with another one, registered with another company. Network Solutions bureaucracy is absolutely APPALLING, and their fees are absurd. Talking to these guys, day after day, was like talking to robots, who, as polite as they are, are just cogs in a big machine that is simply incapable of handling simple issues. This company is from the past, seriously. I will never, ever do business with them again. read more
