Man, finding a supermarket in Berlin can be challenging. Netto is sort of a discount market, I guess. Nothing is ever open late and nothing is open at all on Sunday (like anything pretty much in Berlin). For a country that prides itself on beer, it's a real sad situation that all the markets only have beers that cap off at an ABV of 5%. You can find stronger at their version of bodegas, but not at the markets or restaurants or bars. Also, you can find a small cart at some markets, but no hand baskets and no bags (you have to bring your own or buy them there). So, with nothing to hold your groceries, you see whole families with every member holding as much as they can in their arms. Anyway, they had cheap beer, so that was good. read more
