All kinds of creamy temptations wait for you here at Crémerie Du Gibloux…read more We scored some double cream, local yogurts in natural, vanilla and apricot flavors then we moved to the cheese cases It was nearly impossible to choose as they all looked amazing! We finally narrowed our choices to coeur du Gibloux which was soft, creamy and practically spreadable it was so delicious Also got Les cremeux des prealpes - which was a bit harder but like a Swiss cheese kind of hard - not like a Parmesan kind of hard. Mild, tasty and perfect for sandwiches, melting on potatoes And speaking of melting.......they also had premade packages ( homemade of course ) of fondue cheesy mixes to make it even easier for you to make your own at home Yes please to all of it!!

I would say a raisin-like taste with a caramel texture. I would highly recommend it if you want something different than a pear or apricot tart.

There isn't a single thing you need that you can't find here. We were lucky to be staying next door to Manor so we visited here a few times. I could have spent many, many hours here, but settled for just one....suitcase space is always an issue! Nice quality, lots of variety, easy to navigate. Check it out!

I was able to get in an out and still make my 4 hour train to Paris. This mini grocery store is inside the busy train station. This is Switzerland so of course prices are really high. Our bag of potato chips, two small cans of Coke Zero, a bottle of Evian water, and two pre-made deli sandwiches cost us roughly $40 U.S. The sandwiches were really high quality though, comparable to something you'd get state-side at, say, Dean & Deluca. The cheapest item we purchased was the liter of Evian water (for 89 cents)! I love when I travel to or through Switzerland because Evian is SO CHEAP. It's my favorite bottled water and I drink it with abandon when in Europe. The cashiers were fast and friendly enough, and Coop takes credit cards (which means you don't have the hassle of taking out Swiss Francs from the ATM if you are just briefly in the country). Nothing fancy but plenty to eat and a decent selection of healthy (yogurt, salads, nuts) and not so healthy (fresh baked cookies, potato chips, candy) snacks.

Coffee Shop Sleepy Bear is a one woman show, but she does an amazing job in what is a genuinely excellent cozy atmosphere tucked away in a good location. Service is quick even when traffic starts moving. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? 6,00 CHF for a cappuccino is maybe surprisingly reasonable for Lausanne, and every other menu item was equally reasonable on the price scale. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This was a good cappuccino, and while I would have loved for there to be a little bear design in the mix it went nicely with the homemade granola bar that I paired it with. Single Star. However, Vevey also houses a Laderach store, a family-owned chocolatier and considered the premium chocolatier in Switzerland (kind of like an anti-Nestle, I like to think). At any rate, I've been searching for a high-quality boutique chocolatier ever since my favorite Belgian one (Manon) sadly closed a number of years ago. Nothing has ever matched Manon's standard imo - until I tried Laderach. It is very very good and very similar to what I had with Manon. I chose an assortment of Laderach's chocolates and truffles - and they had a terrific assortment such that I agonized and despaired over which ones to select - and brought them carefully home in my carry-on. My wife and I ceremoniously opened the box, partook of a couple each - and omg, what fine chocolates these are! Rich buttercream fillings, strong coffee flavors, dusky dusty truffles - can't wait to return for more! I hear they've opened a store in New York City, so will be checking that out over the holidays!
