After a while, I stopped hearing these prying sounds thinking maybe the animals thought it was too hard and went away. Then I started to hear steps that were closer to my second floor ceiling. I have seen squirrels at my window and thought this was the most likely culprit for the running around in my attic. I just thought they were just stopping by. Except I started to hear them more often and daily. Then realised they've moved in. I consulted the Google machine what to do in this instance, and whether it can be done DIY style, it looked too complicated and I started to look for people to come solve the issues for me. This research also led me what to look for in a wildlife control operator and found Gates' Wildlife Control through HomeStars. One of my concerns when researching was that if the person you hire to take care of this issue for you is not insured, you are liable if they are injured working on your property. Gates' Wildlife is WSIB insured. Another was ensuring the safety of the animal, just because they've decided to take up residence in my attic, doesn't mean I want any harm to come of them. I called Gates' Wildlife on a Wednesday and I was scheduled for a visit by a technician for a free estimate the following Tuesday. The person on the other end of the phone tired to help me determine what my issue is. I tell them it's squirrels and they gave me a price estimate. She explains that they take calls from all of the GTA and surrounding areas, March/April tends to be busy season for the removal of wildlife from residences and I was already offered the earliest possible appointment in my area of Markham. My technician Brad, who also happens to be the owner, and his assistant came to my door on the Tuesday and spoke to me briefly about my issue, they then went onto the roof to investigate the problem. He came back to the door about 15 minutes later, showed me photos on his phone of how they got in and told me I have raccoons, not squirrels. I gave him the go ahead to start the work, and they came inside to get to the attic. They were respectful of my home and took their shoes off until they were heading up to the attic. They went up there to assess the situation and snapped photo evidence of a raccoon. They then went outside to secure all the roof vents and set a one-way door at the point of entry that would allow them to see if the door had been used. I had many questions and Brad was very knowledgeable responding to all my queries. It was evident that Brad was well-versed in the behaviours of these creatures and how to remove them from the property in the most humane way possible. They came back a few days later to find that the one-way door had been used and secured that vent as well. According to Brad, this raccoon has nestled the insulation like a bowl and ready to have babies in my attic, and thanks to Brad and Gates' Wildlife Control, no raccoon babies happened here. I am sure glad I called Gates' and not "the guy my neighbour used" (there really was such recommendation), Brad and his team were very professional from the first call to when he told me it's done.

From the moment I called their number to the moment I had someone at my doorstep two days later, I received nothing but respect and professional ettiquette for them. The process was clearly laid out and explained to me from the very beginning and the right expectations were set in regards to service and cost. The service was timely and exceptionally done. But what surprised me most was the level of dedication this company puts into a single job. My family was lucky to deal with Justin. While I'm sure every person working with Gates is amazing, I have to say that my family's experience with Justin has been phenomenal. He deserves several pats on the back for his professionalism and his time. The raccoon in our roof was a stubborn one that took almost 3 weeks to leave, granted we did call for removal quite late and in the middle of winter. Justin stopped by our home in Brampton every few days between jobs to check up on how we were doing and if we could still hear the animal in the roof. I've never seen anyone do anything like that before. Justin came back a total of 5 or 6 times before the animal was gone and I honestly found it so hard to believe that service like this still exists today. This is an amazing company grounded in an excellent practice and is the one you should hire should you have any similar problems with wildlife. Please take my word for it. I'll never write another perfect review about another company again because the bar has been set so ridiculously high by Gates Wildlife. And no I was not paid to write this review. I'm just a ridiculously happy customer and believe that my experience should be shared. Hire this company, trust this company, and give your service personnel a pat on the back for the great work they're going to do. Justin, all the best and do stop by whenever you're in town. It was an absolute pleasure working with you. All the best, Naveed Khan & Family.

He responded quickly and will show up in his Victus truck with mouse decorations that garner a chuckle. We gave him a call when we had boxwood caterpillars munching away on our landscape. These caterpillars seem to have hatched overnight and ate at a record speed this summer. He was honest and helpful in quoting us before going ahead. We were debating going to home depot for btk spray, but even Eddie admitted it was not as successful as the media claims. Also, if we could even find it in stock as this was an outbreak in 2024 and we couldn't, even on Amazon all sold out. He was really nice to offer to fume a few big ant mounds in the yard while he was there. Checked back in within the week to make sure his spray worked well. Our boxwood hedges were saved and thriving better now than before. It was not as expensive as buying and replanting new plants if you are wondering. Another call back to him this week, as now we are experiencing our neighbourhood dilemma of mice. He gave a decent plan and quote to cover us for three months of check ins/maintenance and see if it gets better or if the plan needs to increase measures. So far so good. Eddie took the time to see where they could be coming in from so we can stop entry. I am surprised how much time he spent, when most would have left already. He knew how concerned I was for this issue since having pets, kids and food stuff everywhere for them to feast on. He grabbed his ladder and he tracked entry half way up our house to a soffit-window corner...lo and behold that was the entry point and a lot of droppings to prove it. Mesh and caulking to see if that will stop entry for now and poison inside. I am impressed with his thoughtfulness and quality of work. He is not pushy or trying to sell you anything you're not interested and comfortable with. Neighbours truly love to support his local business without him asking anyone to do so. I also love to support local and would reassure others he can be trusted and does great work.
