But when our taxes become more complex--many more deductions and having to pay quarterly state and federal taxes as independent contractors, they were not up for the job--didn't return phone calls, and took weeks to file out taxes which needed to be redone. We ended up having to pay a more specialized tax preparer to straighten out what became an expensive mess. If you need a bookkeeping/simple tax preparation business, this is an excellent choice for you. But if your taxes are more difficult, pay the extra money for an accounting firm. The one we chose even had financial advisors who helped us choose the best way for us to keep inflation for eating up our savings, with no addition cost for the service.

I called a couple of times to ask about timing and they were helpful. I had called another company before and they had given me wrong instructions! So trusting that they know things, I drove a bit more and went in to take care of registration. They take Covid protocols seriously and made sure there were less people inside. Once they started work, they were swift and took care of all the details. In less than an hour, I walked out with new plates without having to wait in DMV. Recommended.

My taxes are pretty cut and dry, not too complicated, but I still like someone to organize it all for me. It is very easy to get an appt with her come tax season. I have been to HR Block before, but I felt they could care less if I got the best refund. Mrs. Parker asks you a lot of questions to make sure she covers every possible tax break. She also gives you pointers on how to save in the future. An example I learned from her: save your receipts from improvements you made on you house to show when you sell your house. This year we called her office early in the year to file our taxes as usual. They told us to wait. They said they weren't due until October because of the time extension due to the storm disaster relief. So we waited per their instructions, even though we were ready for her to do them. We dropped them off before the 15th of September at her office thinking they have a month to prepare. They called back after they had been dropped off and told us Barbara cannot do our taxes because we aren't on her "list." I asked, What this "list" I have never heard of? She kept repeating that we are not on the "list" so they are not going to do our taxes. And, by the way, "your corporate taxes are due tomorrow, but Barbara isn't going to do them because you aren't on the 'list.'" We waited this late to file because they told us to. We never file late. Now she will not do our personal, nor corporate taxes because we are not on some "list." Very unprofessional. We have followed up with phone calls and messages, Crickets!
