The children's area has a very interactive play area with a train table, costumes, theater and more. I can never get my kids to leave. They also have a great summer reading program. My only suggestion is for the staff to utilize technology more, like post events and the summer reading program dates online to reference at the patrons' convenience. I would also like to be able to renew books online, too. It is a drive for us out here in the country and the overdue fee is hefty compared to some other libraries, plus the hours are limited. If it were not for the lack of useful technology that could easily work around these other obstacles, this would be a 5 star library in my 'book'.

I am taking mainly night classes and online classes here.I really like this campus because it's not a big campus and the parking is great. It's kind of in a neighborhood so it's very quiet and I feel safe when I am leaving or going to class in the evening. The majority of the study body are adults who work full-time or a SAHM who are seeking to earn a degree from a creditable University. The prices for tuition is not as steep as UH main campus. I do wish the library was bigger and the campus stayed open later than 10 pm. It's pretty cool that on random nights they give free snacks/ pizza and drinks for the students. Carolyn helped us get that done super quick, and she was very pleasant and friendly. The membership was free and all that was required was a photo I'd proving our Texas residence. They had a good number of computers available, and each document cost 25 cents to print. I didn't explore much, but from where we were sitting but I could see a good size kids library area, several private rooms for studying or media use. They aren't huge as far as book selection, but they had a lot to choose from. They also have a DVD section and an audiobook section. Also there is a nice looking covered porch area with tables and chairs. It would be nice to sit out there during cooler weather.

I am so happy that one of my favorite places is back open. I was able to place some books on hold…read morefor pickup. They have a number you can call and someone brings the books out to you or you can go inside and pick them up from the hold section. I chose to go inside. I didnt know where I placed my library cards but the clerk was able to help me. She even renewed my cards and checked me out. There is also a drive up book return box in the front of the building now. Seems like they are open at full capacity now.

There are so very many perks to having a library card and I want everyone to have one. I love books, reading, writing, learning, words, and all of that so it is obvious that I am biased. However, on the flip side of that accessibility is really important to me in all facets of life. Speaking of accessibility, when I think of books I think of accessibility. We deserve knowledge and information that is free. Don't get me started yall, too bad I have already started. Libraries give us access to knowledge, education, and community and to me that is freedom. "HAVIN FUN AINT HARD WHEN YOU HAVE A LIBRARY CARD" is a remixed version of that saying, and I am not yelling with the caps, I am passionate. Having a library card, in my opinion, is top-tier. Elite, if you will. I frequent this particular library in Cinco Ranch due to the proximity, helpful staff, and resources available. I spent a lot of my waking hours here during grad school and I miss that. These days, I pop in to pick up my holds, browse the shelves quickly, and dip. Get a library card if you don't have one. Yes, it's free. Bring in some mail that verifies your address. My dream job is in a library, although I do not dream of labor.
