STOP BUYING PETS FROM PETLAND!…read more I would strongly caution anyone considering purchasing a puppy from this store to seriously rethink that decision and do independent research first. Large retail pet chains like this have been repeatedly criticized by animal welfare organizations and veterinarians for sourcing puppies from high-volume commercial breeding operations, often referred to as "puppy mills." These facilities are widely reported to prioritize profit over proper breeding standards, socialization, and long-term health. Keeping young puppies--especially small, sensitive breeds like Yorkies and Chihuahuas--in a high-traffic retail environment can put them at increased risk for stress-related illnesses such as kennel cough and other infections. Many new owners are not fully prepared for the emotional and financial burden that can come with this. There are also concerning reports and firsthand accounts online from former employees across similar stores describing issues with animal care, oversight, and sales practices that prioritize moving puppies quickly. I encourage anyone reading this to look into those accounts themselves rather than taking a sales pitch at face value. At the end of the day, this is a business model built around selling living animals at extremely high prices. That alone should raise questions about where these puppies come from and how they are treated before they ever reach the store. Please consider adopting from a shelter or working with a reputable, transparent breeder instead. Doing your homework now can prevent heartbreak later--and helps avoid supporting systems that many experts have raised serious ethical concerns about.

The kids had tons of fun seeing the snakes, alligators, turtles, fishes and other animals as well. The young lady at the front desk was very friendly and informative about the programs that they'll have in the near future. They have little stations for the kids to interact with around the center. We met another young lady who took the time to talk to us. It was nice of her to stay back and talk to the kids about the modeled dam. Thank you for being professional and courteous to us. Admission is donation at least $5 or whatever you can do. Sanitizer station at every entrance and exits ( I love that ) thank you for caring about our health. Restrooms were clean They have souvenirs and other things that you can purchase at the front of the building. If you're vaccinated you don't have to wear a mask but if you want to wear a mask you can. Some employees wore masks and some didn't. It wasn't crowded at all and we got there around 1ish. Which was great for us because we had 7 kids to look after :) Plenty of parking but very few are in the shade. Not sure if you're able to bring your own food but it is a nice spot to do a picnic. I would highly recommend this place for others to experience!! If and when we come back, we'll definitely visit here again!!

We were lucky to have a harvest fair that was going on when we visited. We decided to see if a place we had visited before was open since it was during the government shutdown. The building was not open but the surrounding parts of it are accessible to the public. The Warm Springs Fish Hatchery is a quiet and peaceful place that feels a bit frozen in time but is still well worth a visit. You can simply stroll around the various ponds and see fish moving through the water while birds gather nearby. The wooden walkway, though showing its age, adds a rustic charm as it is positioned under trees and over a pond filled with fish, giving visitors a close-up look at the hatchery's work. Informational signs along the concrete pond on the north side and along the walkway provide details about the fish and the history of the hatchery, making the visit both relaxing and educational. We visited years ago and found that it still has that same quiet appeal--a reminder of a time when places like this focused more on nature than on presentation. It's a good stop if you're in the area and want to enjoy an easy unhurried walk, learn something about fish conservation, and take in the sounds and sights of the outdoors.

Nice fish to look at here in small ponds. There is a small exhibit inside the building also.read more

Today I called multiple times and got either a busy signal or no answer. I was calling because I live 40 minutes away and wanted to know if they had the fish I wanted in stock. I finally got through this afternoon and asked if they had the particular fish. She repeated the name of the fish and said I don't think I have those in stock. I told her thank you and was about to hang up, but heard another employee in the background say that they did have some in stock so she said yeah, we have a few. This is a schooling fish so I needed to know if a few meant 3 or 8. By her reaction she was obviously exasperated that she had to go look. She put me on hold, came back and to told me they had 5 or 6. I asked the price and thought that would be that, but she responded with "I don't know. We are really busy and helping customers in the store so call back later and maybe someone can help you". I hung up thinking, no ma'am, I won't be calling back because I'm not going to support a store that treats their customers like it's a burden to help them.
