I love the frames but I can tell the glasses were just thrown together. Also the fact that the optometrist rang me close to harrassment to try out some Contact Lenses for free , of course. I had to avoid him in the street. Not long after I find this cool place and I love that I can get 2 pairs of specs for less than $400 with no rebate. I hadnt heard of Bailey Nelson until they opened in the Shire . Since googling, Im well impressed. Story goes , a couple of hipsters started the business in Bondi and like to help people save money, so they cut out all the unneccessary middlemen. At B&N They rang my previous Optometrist to confirm my prescription and had the glasses made up in a week . Its not my imagination but the lenses are really clear and I wasnt asked if I want the works , like Fog Free, Glare Free, Scratch resistant , Break Free etc . Honestly the BS that we have to answer , who would say no ? No Im good thanks I want my glasses to fog and break easily . As I know that it costs about a dollar to make them and you are all parasites but lets waste more time. How thin would you like to go ? well I still want to resemble Coke Bottles of course NOT. They dont do this at B&N . Also they dont have a big neon sign on the side to advertise their brand . Its descretely displayed on th inside of the arm. Im thinking they would update quite regularly as they are fashion forward . The same colours come in different frames for different shapes etc. Makes so much sense to me. I will always buy my glasses here now.

The broken hinge wasn't able to be fixed and the other optical shops couldn't make a pair of glasses quickly or find suitable replacement frames that would fit her older style of lenses. I found this shop on Google and took a chance. One of the owners - Shahe Nazarian - greeted us and took care of us in the most professional manner. My mother is 75, anxious, particular, and is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer's. Shahe was so patient and kind and reassuring. She took her time finding us a selection of frames that would fit the shape of my mother's lenses. She always worked with a smile even when my mother repeated her worried questions or when she had trouble communicating clearly. Her husband, Joseph Nazarian took care of placing the lenses into new frames and fitting them to my mother's face. I was so worried that my mother wouldn't be able to see properly for the rest of our trip. Her condition makes her very resistant to change and at first she was reluctant to embrace these new glasses, but I think it will all work out and I truly appreciate the kindness of everyone at this shop. They made a difficult situation a success.

(I noticed blood in my eye on Wednesday morning and it hadn't receded so thought it better to be safe than sorry). There were two shop staff. One took my details and medicare information, and asked me to come back a little-after-11 when the optometrist would be available. I came back around 11-15am, and whilst I had a little bit of wait, standing around whilst the two staff served other people glasses/prescriptions, when they were free they acknowledged that I had been waiting and informed the optometrist that I was waiting to be seen. The optometrist herself was extremely sweet and friendly, and made sure that I was comfortable with each of the tests she performed. She was reassuring and explained the equipment and what to expect before she conducted the tests (e.g. one of the tests is a pressure test where the machine blows air into your wide open eye --- she warned me what to expect so I wouldn't freak out --- yes I still freaked out hahaha, but at least I was ready for it). I never knew that optometrists had such sophisticated equipment (I went through 4 separate machines for tests), and it was great to get a macular check at the same time. The final high resolution eye scan cost $75, and isn't covered by medicare, but the rest of the standard testing was all covered. I found the optometrist very skilled, reassuring and informative. It meant the whole experience which could have been daunting was instead very straightforward, calm and easy. If you are worried about your eyes and need a check up, I would gladly recommend visiting this OPSM, it was an enjoyable experience and the staff were attentive and professional. They also stock a wide range of prescription glasses and frames.

There were a few independent eyewear suppliers around but only OPSM had a big enough range of frames to make sure you could get something that didn't make you look like a total dork (which was much more difficult back then). Having said that, I did spend my entire childhood looking like a total dork... but that wasn't because of my glasses, that was just me. These days there are competitors to OPSM. Some of them are cheaper. Some of them are faster... but you know, for the total package of price, quality and service, you just can't go past the old faithful. The range is good. The service is good. They give free lifetime adjustments (which is great when your chosen sport involves being hit in the head with a metal bar). The in house optometrists have done my eye checks since I moved to Hornsby 20 years ago. Now they do my kids eye checks as well (fortunately, all normal... my short sightedness has been cancelled out by my wife's long sightedness resulting in perfect vision). I buy my frames and lenses here. I still look like a total dork but its not because of my glasses. Its still just me.

Very professional, and very thorough when you come for those routine eye examinations. There is an abundance of choice on different frames of glasses to wear; and they are popular among many of the adult locals in the Rozelle-Balmain area. Comfortable, professional and inviting space that I would recommend to anybody who perhaps has not had their eyes examined in a long time; to those who feel anxious when going to the optometrist - almost to the point to how many of us feel when going to the dentist; and particularly for those who wear glasses and contact lenses. Sally was fantastic with my mum in particular when she wore glasses; and also for a period of time when I had to wear a contact lense in my left eye only. Her patience in teaching me how to use them was spectacular. Would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone who needs their eyes checked, and also to ensure that they are wearing the right glasses for their current vision levels.

Extremely disappointing experience after being a long-term customer…read more I have been a customer of this practice for many years. All three of my children have had glasses through them, and my family has spent many thousands of dollars with the practice. I have also regularly recommended them through local mums/pages and my neurodiverse support network. My previous review from 4-5 years ago was positive, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I purchased prescription glasses for $805, along with Jimmy Choo prescription sunglasses, bringing the total to $1,315. The sunglasses were a discontinued display model, and I was advised by Litza that to receive the discounted price on the sunglasses, I also had to purchase another pair of prescription glasses through the practice. I agreed and purchased the whole package through them, despite finding the same prescription frame online for considerably less, because I trusted the practice and wanted to support a business I had been loyal to for years. There were also pricing issues. I had notes of my discussions with Litza regarding the agreed price, yet the price increased by another $21 when I collected the glasses. They also took over a month to arrive, and I was advised I would receive an additional representative discount because of the delay. This ultimately did not happen. The prescription glasses themselves have been a nightmare. I specifically told the practice I needed them for driving, including night driving. I chose and paid extra for FL-41 lenses due to my migraines. I was told they would be suitable for night driving, but I have found them unsuitable for me and raised this with the practice. I was told I needed to "get used to the lenses." My refund request, however, is about the frame, not the FL-41 lenses. The frame causes significant pressure around my temples and I develop migraines during daytime wear, often within 15-20 minutes. I attended multiple adjustment appointments and even used tissues around the arms of the frame to try to relieve the pressure because I genuinely wanted them to work. I asked about changing to a smaller/lighter frame but was told there would be an additional cost. The frame has now been loosened twice and slips down my nose while still putting pressure on my temples. I have since sought independent opinions from three optometrists, who have advised that the frame is too heavy for my face and, particularly given my migraines, that the weight and pressure around my temples are contributing to the problem. Despite this, I have repeatedly been asked to return for another adjustment. I am seeking a refund because I cannot comfortably wear these glasses for their intended purpose. What has been most upsetting is the way this has been handled. My requests were referred to as my "demands" becoming more and more, despite my position remaining the same: I simply wanted glasses I could actually wear. After multiple attempts to resolve this directly, and emails going unanswered, I have now lodged the matter with NSW Fair Trading and will consider NCAT if necessary. The most disappointing part is how a long-term customer who has supported, recommended and trusted this practice for years has been treated when something went wrong. Customer service isn't really tested when everything goes perfectly. It's tested when something goes wrong and a customer needs help finding a fair resolution. Sadly, I genuinely expected better.

The centre has a large carpark and if you call in and want the next available doctor, the wait isn't long. I took my baby girl to doctor #1 on the 19th as she had a thick yellow substance coming out of her left ear. Doctor #1 stated that the ear drum was perforated and that it was small and in a 'safe place'. Today I took her back to find out if grommets would be a good idea as this wasn't her first infection. We saw doctor #2 who haphazardly looked at her ears, stated that a perforation would take 6 weeks to heal and there was no perforation. I asked doctor #2 to check the records as only 4 days earlier doctor #1 stated there was one. The records stated her ear was red, no mention of a perforated ear drum. I went to reception and asked if I could see doctor #1 to double check (you can see how from my perspective either doctor #2 is incompetent and cannot see the perforation or doctor #1 lied about the fact that there was one). When I spoke to doctor #1 their response was that it was so minor that it wasn't worth recording. It was explained to me that they do not record every little detail as they don't have enough time between patients and would only record this information if the perforation was large. Any medical record is a legal document, doctor #2 had no idea that my daughter had a perforated ear drum 4 days ago because it wasn't recorded. Being given the explanation of it only gets recorded if its a big deal is not sufficient, doesn't matter how time-poor you are. I will definitely not be going back to this clinic due to this.
