They are really overpriced and don't provide a good service. They don't offer EMLA cream in the treatments - you have to go out and buy it yourself from a chemist if you want it. For a clinic that charges twice what other places do, you would think they would include it in the price, but they don't because they are rubbish. Same with dressings - they might sticky tape cotton pads to your skin after your treatment (but don't count on it - at times I had to specifically ask for something to cover my skin which was bleeding). If you want proper dressings and medical tape you will need to purchase them yourself from a chemist. They also do not cleanse the area before treating it. You are expected to clean your own skin with the products in the treatment room, or request a practitioner assist you. I now go to True Skin Laser Clinic on Liverpool St. They use the exact same Q-switch laser, and the staff are a lot more qualified (they are nurses). Their treatments are better and the cost is less than 50% of what City Laser clinic will charge you (and True Skin includes numbing cream, cleansing, post-treatment balm and proper dressings.) Oh - and if you try to pay with a card (not cash) City Laser Clinic will charge you a 3% surcharge. Just the cherry on top.

Unfortunately, I can only comment on the services I used, though I can say that in general the staff are very professional, the equipment is state-of-the-art, the clinic is clean and well-presented, and I would not hesitate to head back if I did want any of the rest. I love that it is discreet - a little tricky to find, but not somewhere that leaves you with your mother-in-law demanding to know what you had done at the cosmetic surgeon - didn't she see you going in there last Tuesday? So far, for me it's just laser hair removal, which is a step up from waxing from which you'll never look back. It's a little bit painful, and a little bit expensive, but neither negative will take away from the fact that once it's done, it's done. No more icky sticky wax, frustration with the temperamental Epilady or scars from the blunt razor. Sadly neither this clinic nor any other can address the basic limitation of laser hair removal: it won't work on blond hair or hair that is too similar in colour to your skin.

I'm not even sure where to begin, but my experience at MDC has always been positive, although I haven't been back since I moved. For a good three years, I had a number of treatments done here, under the competent guidance of the director, Vicky, as well as a handful of nice, professional, and again, competent, technicians and other support staff that I came to trust over years of collaboration. Vicky is knowledgable and approachable, and despite my initial apprehension and uncertainty, she guided me in achieving a better physical/aesthetic fitness and health and, as a result, helped boost my confidence as well. She and other staff have become a valuable source of information and advice over these years, and I'd recommend the services offered at MDC to anyone who is open. It all starts with a consultation, and there is nothing to lose, right! The office is outdated, drab and a little sad, but I was welcomed by a lovely lady at the front desk who checked me in and also happened to be my facialist? I was immediately put at ease. We had a lovely conversation while she diamond busted my face. She was extremely knowledgable about all types of skin problems and won me over with her history treating conditions with natural therapies and oils. I was a little uncomfortable when left alone-the room was quite cold and a little bare. Some fresh new paint, a decluttering and some modern fixtures would give millennium clinic another star. I have one more microdermabrasion so I'll update next time.

But she never asked questions relating to my lifestyle and presentation, in fact I felt she was quite judgemental and disapproving, which was not at all helpful. Could have saved me a lot of pain and help to avoid placing myself in dangerous situations had she taken the time to delve a little and ask a few questions. I never forgot this, it had such a huge impact on my life, not having anyone who cared enough to take an interest and have a chat.

Taking your baby to get a needle jabbed in her arm isn't the pleasant of experience as any new mum will confirm. The doctor was gentle and quick which I appreciated but wasn't as warm and welcoming as I'd have liked given it was my first visit. I felt a bit rushed and walked out not feeling compelled to go back. My community nurse recommended another doctor in the area. Dr Morton is good for those who like the old home style feel rather than a clinical polished surgery.
