    Three shredded chicken, tacos, crunchy
    Stacey R.

Tacos, tacos, tacos! If you love tacos, you will love this restaurant. I've only ever gotten delivery from here, but I will tell you that each time we have ordered tacos from Nena's they have always been amazing. My husband gets the shredded chicken tacos with just chicken and lettuce and I like to get different types of tacos and try everything out. Everything we have tasted so far especially the Carnitas has been delicious. The meats are full of flavor, but are not overpowering. The employees are very good about following any specific requests and instructions that you have and their menu is detailed enough to know exactly what you were getting. If you were ever in Orcutt, California, this is a fun stop to make.

Service was 5/5 very fast and friendly. I ordered a pick up and it was ready in 15 mins. No complaints there. The restaurant is tucked in a little corner and it's not very big but it's clean and has a good vibe to it. Asada nachos- not bad but just felt like fast food. The guac and sour cream just looked like they came out of a tube and there was no layering. For how much you pay you just expect more toppings. Birria ramen- the consome was good. It had a kick to it and very rich. I wish they had given me lime or put it in the Birria to cut through the richness. The ramen felt like cup of noodles just put in the consome but the meat was tender and delicious. The noodles were pretty broken up though so you don't get the satisfaction of eating a mouthful of noodles like you want with ramen. Portion was big though, easily could feed two although mostly broth. I think I got the wrong dishes here and willing to try the authentic dishes to see if it's more than just fast food. The pricing does seem a bit high so we'll see if the other dishes justify the pricing.

This is a small quaint corner of Orcutt, off the beaten path. The food is tasty and fresh. Service is excellent, and although its seating accommodates approximately 25 persons inside, there is also seating in the outside patio area. That said, Nena's a try, you'll be happy you did. Until next time take care.

We had tried their beef quesadilla at their food trucks several weeks ago, so we wanted to check out their in-dining location. Since we were going at 4:30 in the afternoon, we were one of the few customers there. Our waitress was very friendly and was quick to wait on us. She also patiently answered some of my questions since some of the items on the menu, I was unfamiliar with. Their menu is more extensive than the picture that I show. But being first timers, we opted for the "safe" choices. My husband always wants to try the Chile Relleno, my son had their beef quesadilla again, and I opted for the Birria taco plate. We were served chips and salsa while we waited. The chips were obviously store-bought, which was a slight disappointment. My husband loved the salsa; it was not my favorite. Unfortunately, half of my husband's chili relleno was cold, so he was rather unimpressed with his dish. My son loved his quesadilla and the birria taco, which I have never tried before, was very good. Thankfully the waitress offered to have the hot sauce on the side since it was quite spicy. The rice & beans were good. Perhaps next time we can try one of their specialty dishes.

I felt right at home here, and so happy I finally found a delicious Mexican food place in Orcutt! Second time going, great customer service and the food was delicious. They give you chips and salsa. I got the birria ramen the first time (10/10), and the enchiladas the second time (10/10). My husband loves their pastor tacos. Their salsa is delicious, highly recommend the birria ramen. I also love the cups they serve the soda in, it's like a plastic mason jar. The food tastes like it was made at home by family, we will be back! Yes, they have a restroom, yes they have outdoor seating with multiple tables, lots of parking.

Walking in, the food smells like my Grandma is cooking! You can smell how fresh and authentic it is :) The service was awesome! It was cool seeing the owner and the family eating together and hanging out. I feel that the previous owner and restaurant were beyond amazing and that this restaurant had big shoes to fill in, but they are doing great and You can taste the passion they have for cooking this delicious food!

We love small mom and pop places and this place hits all the marks. Owners Martin and his wife opened up Nena's three months ago. The menu is focused on Martin's mother (Nena) home style dishes from Michoacán, Mexico I got the Nena's Enchilada plate. It comes with 5 folds enchiladas all topped with chicken, roasted potatoes and a red sauce. My husband got 3 tacos, filled with Carnitas, Al Pastor and Birria. Both our dishes were very good, especially the carnitas. We love the homemade tortilla Martin let us try. IVery friendly service.

Smallest side of guacamole ever for $6! And it's just avocado, not your typical homemade chunky guacamole. Disappointing.

Tasty grilled chicken burrito and nice service but I did not expect to spend $29 on just 1 MYO burrito ($12.25), horchata (ordered a small but was charged / given a large for $6), tiny side of guacamole ($6 for a 1/4 cup size!) and chips (extra $3+). This is too pricey for 1 person to have lunch but the burrito is big enough to share. Just my honest review. Oh and it was freezing inside the place! Doors propped open on either side, too cold to comfortably enjoy a meal indoors in my opinion. I will be back because I love a good pollo asado as opposed to shredded chicken especially in a burrito and it's near my house so convenient but again, I was seriously caught off guard by how much I had to spend for a nominal amount of food. I get inflation is real but this was over the top too much money for the amount of food unfortunately.

Just heard about this place and we went here right away. Love going to New local places. It was 1030AM. Right when they opened. I wasn't hungry yet, but we had to try something. So my friend got a kids Quesadilla and a horchata. I got a side of beans. It was really good! Very authentic. Everything was just right. A lot of places make beans way too salty or the horchata too sweet. They are still getting things rolling in there, but I still recommend going. I'll be going back when I'm hungry enough for a full meal!

There's also a full bar where you can order local brews, plus a self‑serve condiment bar to customize your meal. The staff was friendly and quick to bring out our food. Seating is plentiful both indoors and outside, with umbrellas for shade. Parking is easy, with spots on the street and in the lot next door. The architecture and décor give the whole place a charming old‑Spanish feel. The food was incredible and will definitely bring us back. The Emmit BBQ Bacon Burger was our favorite. The thick bacon was cooked perfectly, and the onion ring added a great crunch. The patty was cooked medium‑well and packed with flavor. This is one of the best burgers we've ever had. The tri‑tip sandwich was also great. We loved its simplicity and the moist, tender meat with very little fat. The locally made bun really elevated it. They serve BBQ sauce on the side, which paired nicely with the tri‑tip. The 50/50 basket is huge--we didn't expect so much food, but we weren't complaining. The onion rings were excellent. This will be a must‑stop on every trip down to SoCal from now on.

For our leisurely drive from San Diego to San Francisco, my wife had plotted several stops of…read morecities she thought would be fun places to stop to break up our almost 8 hour drive. My wife is an amazing trip planner and she chose stops in Santa Barbara, Solvang, Santa Maria, Carmel, and Monterey. I'm a foodie and once my life pahtner told me about Santa Maria being known for their style of BBQ, I was looking forward to our stop in Santa Maria and grubbing on Santa Maria style BBQ. After checking the different BBQ restaurants on Yelp and factoring in our timeline, I selected Rancho Nipomo Deli & BBQ as the joint that we would experience Santa Maria BBQ. Tri-tip BBQ is the preferred meat choice, but Rancho Nipomo's version was okay and tasty. I enjoyed their chicken BBQ chicken and their chili beans were extremely memorable. Eating inside the restaurant was a little frustrating, but the customer service from their staff was much appreciated. Rancho Nipomo is located on the 101 freeway specifically off of Exit 175 and on Cuyama Lane. It's a short distance from the exit off of the 101, so this restaurant is a convenient stop if you're pressed for time. There were other BBQ restaurants in Santa Maria, but the other restaurants didn't open until 4pm and we didn't have the luxury of waiting around. Rancho Nipomo is located across from 805 Barbecue Brand restaurant and it's diagonal from Taqueria Los Quates. There is some parking in front of the restaurant, but it's mainly street parking. Rancho Nipomo is a spacious restaurant with plenty of indoor seating and there's plenty of covered umbrella outdoor seating. We ate inside and had to battle disruptive flies, so I recommend you eat outside. I recommend that management keep their doors closed to keep these pests out. There are large screen televisions to watch sports and there was a stage where bands play music on certain days. I liked the decor inside with a mural of Mexican cowboys, the California Republic homage above the tvs, the faux Gold Rush saloon as the backdrop of the stage, the Indian statues, and the decorative old school chandelier. The young lady behind the register provided exemplary customer service, other staff I interacted with were friendly, and I love that they honor Veterans like me with a free fountain drink. Besides Santa Maria-style BBQ, Rancho Nipomo serves Mexican food that incorporates BBQ; it serves burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs; it serves munchies; it serves salads, and you can satisfy your sweet tooth with their desserts. I honestly did not know the city of Santa Maria had their own style of BBQ, so I was really looking forward to tasting what that style of BBQ tastes like. After perusing their menu, I decided to order their Central Coast Smokin' Combo because it had two different types of meats. This combo comes with a 1/4 BBQ Chicken, 1/2 lb Smoked Tri-Tip, Spanish Rice, West Coast Chili Beans, and two flour tortillas. It was a good amount of food because I had part of my chicken and tri-tip as leftovers, which was a yummy late night snack on our trip. I was looking forward to eating the tri-tip, but even though it ate well with the tortillas, I thought it was dry and underwhelming. The highlights for me were the chicken, the chili beans, and the rice. The chicken was cooked perfectly, it was tender, seasoned really well, and it tasted great by itself or in a tortilla. The chili beans were mind blowing, savory, addicting, and I wished there was more. Combining either BBQ meat with the chili beans and rice inside a tortilla made for a delectable bite. Make sure to grab all of their complimentary salsas to add some spice to your BBQ. My wife ordered The Cali Cheese Steak Sandwich, which comes with smoked tri-tip ends, Monterey Jack cheese, bell peppers, and grilled onion all encompassed in a fresh toasted Telera bun. Sincerely, one of the best cheese steak sandwiches I've ever eaten and I didn't eat it until I had it as a late night snack. We also ordered their fries, which were seasoned and delicious. Rancho Nipomo Deli & BBQ is a must visit if you want to indulge in Santa Maria-style BBQ. Their tri-tip was okay, but I highly recommend their BBQ chicken and their West Coast chili beans. If you're planning to order a sandwich, a Must Order is their Cali Cheese Steak sandwich.
