Was it actually worth all the hype? We ordered the Sora Omakase Sashimi (8 types, chef's choice) along with a few other special rolls, and the sashimi was the real star of the show. The fish was incredibly fresh and generously thick-cut, with a great variety of premium sashimi. We were impressed by the creativity, generous portions, and presentation. Compared to other sushi places we've tried in the city, the quality and attention to detail here really made a difference. The prices are a bit higher than some other restaurants on the island, but after tasting the food, we thought the quality made it worth it. If you love sashimi, we especially recommend trying their sashimi options. There are plenty of premium choices. The restaurant itself has a modern-chic atmosphere, and it was BUSY. We saw a mix of locals, visitors, and a steady stream of takeout orders. Despite the crowd, our food came out surprisingly quickly, and the quality stayed top-notch. Whether you want a casual sushi night for two or a place to celebrate with a group, the menu has enough variety to please everyone. We came in wondering if the hype was real, and left understanding exactly why it's so popular. Honestly, Nori deserves the 5 stars from us. So worth noting for the sake of safety. Despite ordering all veg. Fish definitely was on a knife or a cutting board somewhere. As a regular veg sushi orderer this is always a risk, but only the second time it's happened to me.

Over the past couple of years or so there has been a steady decline. Items missing from ordered dishes...(Appetizer tempura meant to have 5 pieces, came with 4), sauces missing in the take out bag, smaller portions, rising prices, etc. Tonight, I thought I'd chance it again, ordered a vegetable tempura, (10 pieces), miso soup, and California Roll. I picked up my take out order precisely at the time they said it would be ready. (25 - 30 minutes from the time I placed the order.) The staff member was friendly and fun, I grabbed my take away bag, drove the five minutes it takes to get to my home from the restaurant, and dove into the tempura. What I found was disgusting. The vegetables were barely dipped in the tempura batter, and had absorbed a ridiculous amount of oil. The piece of broccoli in the mix was fried with little or no batter, the florets were toasted brown, and dripping with oil. The packaging was drenched with grease. I immediately called to tell them I couldn't eat it, and asked if I could be refunded with a credit. They denied me, telling me I would have to drive back over to the restaurant if I wanted a refund. I'd already thrown the food in the trash, as it was inedible. I wasn't about to go trash bin diving, so instead I told them they'd just lost a long standing customer. I see that no one is leaving reviews for the past couple of years...that's about the time that things started to go sideways for this once excellent and convenient sushi place. Too bad. Maybe there's been a change of ownership, I have certainly noticed that they don't seem able to keep staff. I used to get take out from them at least a couple or three times a month. Tonight was my last try.

Amazing taste and fresh $13 - The 2 chefs pictured here have worked for over 15 years - House salad - amazing and big enough to share $5.50 Con -The patio is nice, but there are unsavoury 'characters' that walk between downtown along China steps.
