I was new to skiing, so I just wanted to get some gear where I could continue to build my confidence on the slopes. One of the employees asked me all of the right questions without being judgmental or condescending. He asked me what my skill level was, the price I would like to overall pay, etc. With that, he brought out some boots and they fit perfectly and comfortably. He then showed me some skis that would be good for my height...and with that I left only paying $800 for boots, skis and bindings. Each step of the way, the employee kept making it clear that he wasn't intending to sell me anything, and that he would understand if I wanted to shop around elsewhere. Again, this set me at ease knowing that he was providing me with non-pressured service. Since then, I have returned to Fire on the Mountain to service my skis regularly. Recently, I brought my skis to get serviced, and I asked them about my boot, which had a buckle that was bending. They quickly offered to fix it, and when I went to pick it up, they completely fixed the boot and added a double screw to ensure that it was fastened in. As previously stated, I have nothing but great things to say. If you are looking for ski or snowboard gear in a nonintrusive environment, I highly recommend Fire on the Mountain! Their employees and customer service is unlike any other.

The young man helping us out was very knowledgeable, and super helpful. He helped us find an affordable pair of used boots that were in great shape, and worked with us to pick out a helmet and goggles. The whole time he shared a ton of information drawing on his own experience. We were lucky that we walked in when it was quiet, and he was able to devote a big chunk of time and attention to us. By the time we were finished the place felt packed and the staff was bouncing around, but still seemed to try and offer a great experience to all of their customers. I will definitely go back when we need more gear.

Hayden Sports clearly has the best merchandise at the best prices. I haven't been there since it moved on up from the basement, but I'm sure it's still just as fabulous. Roger Hayden, the big boss, is probably one of the best bosses you could ever have. He gave all of his employees (pretty much all college students) so much responsibility and allowed us to pretty much run the store. Working at Hayden's taught me so much that I could never learn in college. Hayden's always is always getting new products- things you can't find anywhere else on campus! So, support the smaller business instead of the university bookstore (don't you give them enough money already??). Hayden Sports is the best in Durham.

The last few times I've been inside, it's looked run down, the shelves are a disaster, the lack of music alone makes me dislike shopping there, and the super obviousness of their loss prevention team following people around is obnoxious. Another thing is the lack of open registers, any given time, you're lucky to have two manned registers open and just a handful of self scan registers available, causing long lines and even longer wait times. I understand lack of staff, trust me, but there has got to be a better way, maybe add MORE self scans and take out all the registers that can't be used due to lack of staff.

I've only been there once or twice since, and only when I needed something very specific. Tonight I just felt like shopping, so I walked in and wandered around for a while. Unfortunately for me, I also needed to use the restroom when I first arrived. I walked in and of the four stalls in the women's room, one had an out of order sign on it, one had what appeared to be feces caked along the wall behind the toilet, a third had a toilet seat absolutely smeared with blood, and the fourth had a marginally less filthy toilet, but the trash can for feminine products was overflowing and spilling onto the floor. I washed my hands and held it until I got home rather than use any of them. Beyond that, the store itself is much less clean and organized than it used to be. I understand that some of this is probably because of the time of year and an increase in shopping, but it was a level that was pretty shocking even taking that into consideration. Boxes piled up on the floor in the middle of aisles, items spilling off of shelves and hanging out everywhere in complete disarray, carts full of items just sitting in the middle of the floor near the books and electronics sections. It made me sad to see the state of the store when I remembered what it looked like back when I worked there. I won't be in a rush to go back.

When I got to the pharmacy, I found out that the item was not covered by our Part D Medicare insurance, and that the discounted cost would be $211. I used my phone to find that Walgreens had the same item for $133. When I got there 35 minutes prior to the time that the pharmacy closed I asked them to transfer the script from the grocery store pharmacy. They were able to get this done in less than 10 minutes and they even found a GoodRx discount for me that I did not know about, making the final cost to me just $86. I saved over $120 thanks to their pricing and help. This level of service was unexpected and exceptional, and the price was definitely appreciated.

That's good double your money so why is it so bad for you to just put that $40 on the item and leave it there your still getting the original profit you were originally fine with but your way of thinking is if that item went up $10 YOU need to get that extra $10 instead of letting what could be a loyal customer get a good deal and you still get the profit you intended from the beginning this is what I was trying to express to you in my last review I mean you have MANY items in your store that have been there for YEARS ! I'm not saying if you paid $5 for an item then it sky rockets to $500 to still sell it for $10 but I mean if you let that go for ....$300 then wouldn't you say you both win you only expected to get the original $10 but got $300 then your potential RETURN customer got an amazing deal to which you know he would brag about to EVERYONE!
