Do yourself a favor and make reservations on a boat that will take you from Stockholm directly to the pier by the center, or take an inexpensive bus from T-Centralen, but don't try the bus -- you'll be waiting forever in Gustavsberg. HOWEVER...the service, ouch, as Swedish and thrifty as it can get. We ordered a bottle of white wine and received two glasses at first. We then suspected the waiter got it wrong and reassured what the order was. She elegantly brought a bottle (without taking back our two glasses)and said it was her fault. Respect. HOWEVER. Ten minutes later, the bottle was taken away, on the grounds that "Our measurement is that there are four glasses in a bottle of wine, but we will serve you another generous glass". WTF!! Her superior was not fine with the waiter's great gesture and excused it with their own thrifty predicaments. BAD, BAD, BAD approach. Which restaurant ever has 4 glasses to a bottle. As bad of an attitude as it gets to spare a cost of 100 SEK ~= 10 USD.

It was very crowded and so hot today. The cakes and sweets are all sitting out on a table like a buffet in the heat and while the idea is nice, it is all situated close to the bathroom. If you have the time, it is a nice location but I would not say it is a must visit.

Traditional feeling with modern touch…read more It was a cold day when visiting Gustavsberg this winter, thus a good cup of hot chocolate was almost an essential. We stepped in Cafe Tornhuset and faced a warm atmostphere. The vitrin was full of sweet pastries, buns, cakes and cookies, but also sandwiches, and the list told that they offer soups and salads as well. The place was almost full of people, but we managed to find a cozy place in the very end corner. Service was friendly, interior ok and prices good. Not super special cafeteria, but nothing to really criticize. The location is nice, in the "tourist" area of Gustavsberg, thus at the harbor. I would love to see the place in summer time as well, could be nice to sit outside at the terrace by the water. Yeah and the hot chocolate (30kr), it was delicious! Served in a huge cup, it warmed well. Would recommend!
