After getting me to sign off on the final inspection with promises from Mike to correct installation issues with the Trane unit he installed, albeit for a great price, Mike has stopped returning calls and Im now awaiting estimates from othe companies to replace the internal drain pain( damaged and replaced previously by his installer and later damaged again by apparent over tightening by another of his installers) and repairing of the supply and return boxes which are now falling off the unit at both ends and only originally barely held in place by a few strips of tape and mastic. I was not told at installation or estimate time that these air boxes didnt fit the new init properly. read more

We called because we had our ac keep switching to heat and since they were around the neighborhood, and showed up right away. We'll have to replace a part, but he gave us a quick fix and we'll have the ac running tomorrow. Mike really explained to us what was wrong and what he's done to make it better. Over the last 7 years or so Mike has been to my house about 4 times. He's always shown within 2 hours of my call and has solved each of the issues on the first shot With minimal cost. From the traditional HVAC to my new ground source heat pump, he gets it done right the first time. I'm a DIY guy so I try to learn wherever I can and he's more than happy to teach me how to solve the issues if they arise again later. I'm very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Another 5 star review. This time my blower motor stopped working. I called Mike at 9 am and by 3 pm he was at my house, and correctly diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes. My AC is 6 years old but apparently the part isn't the easiest to get, so he had to order a new one which arrived the next day. In the meantime he tried to find a used motor for me but didn't have any in his truck that fit. These aren't the cheapest parts either, but Mike came back the next day with great news -- the part was covered under warranty so my only cost was labor. Repeating what so many others have said -- Mike is honest and truly cares about his customers. His prices are fair, he does excellent work, and he goes out of his way to fix the problem as quickly as possible (sometimes even over the phone). My elderly fathers AC stopped working properly late Thursday. The technician showed up promptly Saturday at 7 am as promised, making an early call so that we would not have to wait until Monday. The technician was knowledgeable, efficient and polite. The repair was completed quickly and the technician did not try sell us additional services or parts. The price was unbelievably reasonable and we were not charged an additional fee for a Saturday call. Finally someone honest and trustworthy! Had another AC company out last week who wanted to charge us $600 to recharge our unit because it's an older unit which he said was being phased out and ours was completely drained and that we really needed a new one for $5000. My husband ask for other options such as repairing or replacing the coil, the guy said he'd check it out and get back with us. Guess what, he never did, thankfully. That's when we found that Nelson AC had 5 stars on here and we definitely agree! Mike came out said our unit may have a small leak but he couldn't find one and that our unit wasn't in bad shape he gave it a recharge for only $175. Well I am not sure where to start. I am in the Military and in the process of selling my home. My AC needed repairs after I had to evict a tenet and get ready to sell, I had a warranty on the home and the company they used were just horrible but of course as any company who needs to be a vendor to a warranty company they over charged me for repairs, they were the hardest to get on the phone. It was especially difficult to get a hold of them since I am not even stationed in Florida anymore. You know the whole bad business norms like long wait times, overcharging, hanging up on you. That type of stuff. (Negative review posted on them) I told the warranty company to find a new vendor since their reviews were so bad and you want to know what they said? " a lot of companies have bad reviews" I know absolutely ridiculous! I almost gave up and was going to lose out on selling my home when I yelped this company. They had high reviews so I told my wife let's give them a shot, and after my phone call with the owner Mike, I was stunned because the way he made me feel about my situation I was like "finally someone who is honest actually is willing to help me out" especially since my ongoing situation I had with the Warranty/AC company. He said he would go out the very next day take a look and let me know what was going on. The very next day he confirmed they were misleading me and he agreed to help me out which I know he was doing for pretty much no profit. He came out made the repairs and charged me the "real" amount they should of charged me instead of overcharging me. I am so thankful for this company and I highly recommend his services. I found Mike on craigslist. His Yelp reviews were great! In his ad he listed prices of diff. AC units he had available. I called Mike and confirmed the price of the craigslist ad. He was busy installing a unit at the time 3/16/16 but confirmed my install for a 2.5 ton Trane w/ heat pump for $2650 INSTALLED before 3/20 I didn't hear back from him for a few a week, called him back 3/28 and again confirmed the price and install date of 3/30 as the unit i wanted was scratched and dented and he needed to get a new one, as apparently Trane doesn't allow scratch and dent to be installed. Tuesday 3/29 540am the day before install, he texts me and says he has someone who really wants the unit i had been promised for install the next day. I called at 11am and he says he can't put it in for 2-3 MORE weeks AND sent an estimate that was $1000.00 MORE than originally discussed and more than advertised on craigslist. Just ANOTHER AC rip off artist on craigslist. Hey if you want an AC within this decade and an honest, dependable HVAC installer GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! Mike may seem pro on the phone, boasting his veterans discounts, and how reliable he is, but again, he's just the typical AC dude. His advice to me while I waited for 2-3 more weeks for this AC, was to go to Walmart, buy a window AC unit, use it for a few weeks and return it to the store for a refund after "Nelson Air" finally got off their butts to install my overpriced, non-existent unit. BTW I am a cash buyer and never even bothered to negotiate the original price. Is there an actual honest AC installer in this state??? Ultimate price gouging. read more

Stay away, now going on 3 weeks without AC, this guy replaced my coils and the AC company I used to fix the problem said he did not replace a valve that was required when installing new coils, so now $1000 later I am getting another company to fix the problem he could not schedule for 3 weeks to come back out on. So bottom line wants this guy is paid he is gone. Will probably be going to small claims court on this, thanks for the terrible service read more

I severed the liquid line to the condenser unit outside my house with a hedge trimmer, as well as discharged all the refrigerant from that happening. Bonehead mistake, yes, I know. I found Mike through Yelp and after calling and talking to him about my situation, he came within 20 minutes to Oakleaf Plantation and began the repairs and R22 refill!
