A bit expensive, $5 for a couple of hours, but the ease and convenience made it worth it. I'll keep it in mind for next time I'm down this way. As bad as parking garages can be, this one was a fairly pleasant experience.

It makes sense and it was no biggie, I just did not spend as much time as I would have if pets were welcome. I stopped into what I thought was a deli but more like a restaurant with a counter, hoping to purchase goodies for home. There are several stores for shopping, which were fun to browse. I took COTA Bus #5 from downtown Columbus (Ohio Statehouse) and explored the area just north of the park. The brick houses and cobblestone alleyways provide a glimpse of life in the 1880s and early 1900s when this area became a central hub for the German-American community. I don't think there are too many kid-friendly activities or museums nearby - but it makes a pleasant excursion if you're stuck at the Convention Center for a conference in downtown Columbus. Street parking looked a bit challenging. If Bus #5 is running slow on your return trip from the German Village back to the downtown area (it can be up to a 30 minute wait if you just missed the last bus), consider taking an Uber/Lyft taxi instead.

If you've ever visited a larger city, you understand. Anyhoo, this parking garage is located right in the heart of the neighborhood, on the corner of Hubbard Ave and High St. It offers hourly rates that are pretty reasonable given the other options in the area. A few things to note. 1) They have a couple EV charging stations. 2) Hold on to your ticket because if you lose it, you'll be paying a hefty $65 dollars to get your car out. 3) You can pay either at the gate or before you get back in your car at a kiosk. Long story short, don't avoid this area of town because everyone says parking is a nightmare. You just need to know where to look... and Yelp can help with that!

First thing you need to know is that the pricing here is ultra reasonable. If I remember correctly, it's $1 for every 30 minutes with a daily max of $13... so you can park all day long for a measly 13 bones The next thing you need to know is that the parking lot, even on a busy festival weekend with a convention in progress was relatively empty and so clean you could eat off ground. Even the elevator area was really nice and not only was it air-conditioned, but it actually kind of smelled nice. I don't think I've ever been in a parking garage elevator or stairwell that didn't smell like cooked pee, so this was a really nice change of pace. Well done, Greater Columbus Convention Center Parking Garage. Well done.
