The store layout is very nice and sections are well labeled. My husband pointed out multiple different action figures that he had as a kid that were for sale. They didn't seem too expensive. The person at the store was kind and offered to help if we needed anything. The old vintage comics in the glass cases were very cool. Also, there was a young reader's section that was very cute. Honestly, there could be some improvements at this store. Shopped there many times and their prices are well above fair market value and they don't buy comics you bring in like a traditional store where you can make deals on the spot. I guess the clerks aren't allowed to do that which lowers the appeal of this place. read more

A friendly, inclusive shop with a lot of great comics that are well organized. There are bigger shops, but let's be honest, 75% of that stuff is filler. There is so much good material here , from local artists to sections for younger kids, LGBTQ+ material, and grisly horror/sci-fi as well as the DC/Marvel stuff. I was visiting Savannah and I collect comics. So I came here to Yelp and found this gem! To put it simply, they are a very nice cozy comic book shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable, the prices are reasonable to even low. I got a great deal on an incentive cover, I even told him that my shops at home were charging more and he didn't blink and didn't try to up-charge either! I am going to offer a bit of a unique review, both as a prior employee and a dedicated customer of this shop. I worked at Neighborhood Comics for almost a year and, I believe, still would be there to this day if not for Covid related family demands that caused me to relocate. Before any suspicions arise, I was not asked to write this review nor am I being paid for it. This is my genuine opinion of this shop and those that work and own it. That being said I've got a lot to say: I've worked restaurants, I've worked retail, and I've worked odd jobs. In my years of experience, I have never found a shop more dedicated and passionate than this one. When I first came to the shop on a College field trip, hosted by Robert Atkins I was struck by the open atmosphere and the warmth presented by Lee as he approached my class. He was both informed and humble about the store, but his experience in the field and informed professionalism shined through his nerdy guise as the enthusiasm bubbled forth. Shortly after this visit, I returned several times, both with friends and on my own, ultimately applying to work there. This was one of my best decisions I've made in years. The owners go the extra mile in every interaction adapting both how they approach their customers and subscribers, but they also genuinely care about their employees. They treated us people, a sadly rare thing to find in retail, it made you want to do better for not just the store but them. There was barely a week that went by that they weren't looking for new ways to improve. From how they present the shop to events they were going to hold. I was astounded at the variety they'd host, from cookies on the release of House of X to music concerts and book clubs. This shop wants to craft a location that is safe for any age but beyond all else a warm environment to visit. This shop is more than a corner store comic stop, it's fostering a community both with those who work there and come for a purchase. I am across the country now but greatly miss this shop. It's caring and down to earth approach is something I have yet to find here and it has made me realize what a gem of Savannah Neighborhood Comics is. I cannot recommend this shop enough. If you are looking for a comic shop that is capable of helping you find your first comic and making sure it's just right for you, or a long time collector they will have something that will meet your interests. At the very least they will do their damndest to make sure you feel at home. Miss you all and thank you for the experiences. read more

I was outside the door, and it was 5 minutes before opening time...the owner saw me peeking in, and graciously said "Come on in, we're open soon!" He and his associate were extremely answered questions about some books I was excited about. Actually, I'm a 69 year-old woman, getting very excited about GOLDEN BOOKS on his rack about Frida Kahlo, and another about Ruth Bader Ginsberg! Soon to be a great source for back issues did have a Spiderman number 129 , really cool! And had some pretty cool crazy custom made board packaging on action figures. They were pretty funny like "iceberg slim" etc. Great for the Comic Book enthusiasts that love all the new stuff and it had what seemed like a ton of hardback graphic novels. I ordered a comic book blind box from Neighborhood comics, and after 3 weeks I reached out to them and told them I had not received my blind box. They had no problem sending another box. After a week my box had arrived, I had sent a picture to them to say thank you. They noticed it was my original package that I thought was lost!
