Food: I'm not sure how this place is not shut down. I grew up on jamaican food, so I was excited when I saw a jamaican restaurant near me. First, what they are serving is not jamaican food. The rice and peas were soggy and nasty. The jerk chicken, or should I say baked chicken, was undercooked and had no seasoning. Service: The prices are displayed, but they charge you a completely different price. The elderly man doesn't know how to use the credit card machine. I had to turn the machine around and do it for him, which is crazy. Atmosphere: Don't look too close at anything because you will notice the whole in the roof, the dirt caked over everything, and the crap piled up behind the register. I LOVE ackee and saltfish and was happy to see it on the menu. We sat down and were given menus. More people came in for take out and dine in orders. People that came after us sat down but one went to the counter thinking to order there. He was told someone would come over. Staff must have lost track and they were waited on first and we had to flag someone down to take our order. 48 mins into our stay, the people after us ate and left. My friend was very annoyed. We waited another few minutes for our food. I was happy with what I ordered but my friend wasn't with her curry chicken. The portions are huge for sure. Place is dated and food disappointing. Ordered jerk chicken, curry shrimp, and oxtail and the flavor was bland with a kick of spice. Had to add more seasoning when I got home. Took home some beef patties and to my surprise that they were still for sale in the condition they were in. The meat patties had a stale crust and dehydrated meat mixture. It's went to Negril for the first time. I had the Curry Shrimp which was okay, but nothing to write home about. My wife ordered Jerked Pork which was EXCELLENT and my little boy had Brow Stew Chicken. Usually he's so easily distracted that it's hard to get him to eat at a restaurant but in this case he scarfed down every bite. We also ordered plantains for the whole table. I've only had plantains once, in Puerto Rico, and hated them but these were delicious!!! We almost ordered another helping. Overall I give the food an A-. If I had one complaint, there was sort of a sense of uneasiness when we came in. We were the only white people and it felt like a strange silence came over the place when we entered. There are multiple posters of Obama, Frederick Douglas, etc. so I wasn't sure how welcome we really were, but maybe it'll be different when we go back. Have visited this place 3-4 times, each time getting the jerked chicken. Slow service? Yeah, but I figure if it's good food then it's worth the wait. Shame on me for going back for more. Every time my husband and I go in, it's a long wait and then we get chicken bones with no real meat. Every.single.time. Today was the icing on the cake. Called in a take out order, I said what I wanted, the guy said ok and then hung up... so 15 min later I arrived thinking it would be ready or near ready. Restaurant wasn't too busy. Told the guy what I was picking up he said okay, and we then proceeded to sit there for an additional THIRTY minutes waiting for food. Two people come in after us, order 3-4 containers worth of food, all got theirs before ours. We decided enough was enough we are tired of waiting. As we are walking out the guy says (I think; thick accent was hard to understand) he said he would make it right now..I said I have been here for 30 minutes sir and I left anyways. This is absolute garbage and I'm willing to bet the fact that I'm white has a lot to do with the TERRIBLE service I get every time. We ate there last night on Wednesday August 10, 2016. There were five of us. We ordered three plates of curry shrimp and two plates of curry goat. While waiting over 30 minutes for our food in a very warm temperature wise restaurant as air conditioners were not working, our waiter brought out the three plates of curry shrimp and one plate of curry goat. He then announces that they are out of the curry goat and that plate was the last of it. So Josh has to place an order for something else and wait while we are eating. Our waiter gave us very poor service. I ate the plate of curry goat. I was really disappointed in the amount of goat bones present in the dish while tasty lacked a real amount of goat meat. There was a cup of rice but it only had about 5 or 6 beans in it. The vegetable was a stewed cabbage. I will not go back to this place. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time last night. It was quite a surprise; I wouldn't have guessed a small town in Kansas would have such yummy & diverse food as this Caribbean eatery. I tried the curry goat and it was delicious! The portions are substantial, and my dinner included collard greens, rice & peas (beans), & fried plantains. My meal was complimented with a chilled Goya ginger beer. It was almost like being back in Florida.... Kudos to the management also for having zero problem with my service dog. This place is AMAZING!!!! Me and my family went here a little before 9pm and they still took our order! The food is fresh and DELICIOUS!!!!! The curry goat was so good, all the flavors were there, and very tender. My husband got the brown stewed chicken, and that was very good. The meals come with rice and peas(beans) and seasoned cabbage, we also got a side or plantains(which were double delicious). The servers were very nice and made conversation. We were really lucky that they served us, and after closing hours too! My mom got the curry shrimp, and that's a winner also. The shrimp were fresh and well seasoned, AMAZING!!!!
