The food was amazing and brings a unique cultural experience to the area. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was welcoming, and it's great having a restaurant like this in the community. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

10/10 bangin food sincerely. Love the vibe in there too shoutout to the owners for putting plants all over the place and Obama posters everywhere. Food is absolutely delicious I got a chicken patty from there which is Is not pictured because I ate it on the way home but that was bangin too for real. Everything is spicy in the best possible way so if you're into that you'll be met with some wild flavor. Love this place I have to come back sooner. Also the drink selection is extremely diverse there's so much to choose from including a bunch of Caribbean flavors. A little on the pricier side, but for a small business selling the only Jamaican food in town I can't really blame them. Thank you for feeding us tonight Negril read more

Negril Caribbean Restaurant - a meal in a plastic container - Caribbean Near Me - Junction City, Kansas

There are few times in life when traveling 1000 miles across the US that you find an authentic Jamaican restaurant in a small Kansas town. You won't be disappointed. We got the Jerk Chicken, Brown Chicken Stew, & Curried Goat. They were all tender & very tasty. The rice/beans & cabbage are a great compliment to the main course. To say the least, this is as good as anything I've had while traveling in Jamaica. While this is a bit on the pricey side ($18/entree) you get what you pay for & what you're paying for is an authentic Jamaican meal. Enjoy!! read more

Curry Goat is 2/10. No flavor. Just salt and curry. White rice is overcooked with too much water. Save your money. This restaurant's definition of flavor is salt. This is the worst Caribbean food I have ever had. I am Soo disappointed! read more

Food: I'm not sure how this place is not shut down. I grew up on jamaican food, so I was excited when I saw a jamaican restaurant near me. First, what they are serving is not jamaican food. The rice and peas were soggy and nasty. The jerk chicken, or should I say baked chicken, was undercooked and had no seasoning. Service: The prices are displayed, but they charge you a completely different price. The elderly man doesn't know how to use the credit card machine. I had to turn the machine around and do it for him, which is crazy. Atmosphere: Don't look too close at anything because you will notice the whole in the roof, the dirt caked over everything, and the crap piled up behind the register. I can only imagine how the kitchen looked. I brought my mother here when she came to visit me from Jamaica. She walked in, looked at the ceiling falling down and the dirt and walked out. She refused to order anything. Do not eat here...please read more

Friendly people. Good jerk chicken. Good portions. Good place to eat good Carribean food!

A waste of $40. The food has no taste the only thing that had taste was the cabbage. I asked for white rice and I got a lot of colored rice with two beans in it. The brown stew chicken was burnt and dried out the ox tails were fatty and bland. read more

nt here with a friend that is stationed in Fort Reily. It was my last day in town and saw they had a Caribbean Resturant soI opted for that. I LOVE ackee and saltfish and was happy to see it on the menu. We sat down and were given menus. More people came in for take out and dine in orders. People that came after us sat down but one went to the counter thinking to order there. He was told someone would come over. Staff must have lost track and they were waited on first and we had to flag someone down to take our order. 48 mins into our stay, the people after us ate and left. My friend was very annoyed. We waited another few minutes for our food. I was happy with what I ordered but my friend wasn't with her curry chicken. The portions are huge for sure. I would suggest calling ahead and pick it up vs. waiting. It does get busy around lunch time so I think that was a factor also. read more

The food has to be from Thursday or Friday and it's now Sunday. More pride and seasoning could be used. To top it off, the food was most likely microwaved as it started and beeped when finished quite a few times. It may be authentic to some but I've definitely had better. read more

Really good authentic Jamaican food. Had the oxtail and goat both were on point. The beef patty I also recommend!

I am a fan of good and spicy food, While at fort riley, I was thankful to see a caribbean option, I was the only customer in this restaurant at 12:35 I ordered off there board next to the counter, lucky me they, on their short list of offerings had, jerk chicken, at a Jamaican restaurant !!!!!!!!!!! Excited I told my wife I hoped it would be, way better then mine. It was Horrible, Dried out, devoid of flavor, spice, anything that makes me ever want to waste my hard earned money....... As much as I avoid chain restaurants, Taco bell is a better use of your lunch time. I report this with great sadness. read more

The food was good but was quite spicy! The jerk chicken was really good. The service was also good.

Place is dated and food disappointing. Ordered jerk chicken, curry shrimp, and oxtail and the flavor was bland with a kick of spice. Had to add more seasoning when I got home. Took home some beef patties and to my surprise that they were still for sale in the condition they were in. The meat patties had a stale crust and dehydrated meat mixture. The meat mixture was as hard as the crust. It's so sad because I really wanted to like this place. read more

I just had my first meal at this amazing restaurant! Had the jerk chicken, and I am enjoying every bite. Amazing food. Give it a try!

Very disappointed, I've eaten here several times and always enjoyed the food, fair amount fair price, however the last couple times I LITERALLY got rice and cabbage as the main dish, when I ordered oxtails...I got enough rice/beans and cabbage for two people and got cheated bad on the oxtails (Twice) I can cook my own rice/beans for $16.00 read more

It's went to Negril for the first time. I had the Curry Shrimp which was okay, but nothing to write home about. My wife ordered Jerked Pork which was EXCELLENT and my little boy had Brow Stew Chicken. Usually he's so easily distracted that it's hard to get him to eat at a restaurant but in this case he scarfed down every bite. We also ordered plantains for the whole table. I've only had plantains once, in Puerto Rico, and hated them but these were delicious!!! We almost ordered another helping. Overall I give the food an A-. If I had one complaint, there was sort of a sense of uneasiness when we came in. We were the only white people and it felt like a strange silence came over the place when we entered. There are multiple posters of Obama, Frederick Douglas, etc. so I wasn't sure how welcome we really were, but maybe it'll be different when we go back. The Jerk Pork and plantains definitely merit another visit. read more

First time for me to eat plantains and I have to say, these were delish! The service was cordial and the food plentiful! My curry shrimp was wonderful and my husbands kingfish was very tasty! This place is definitely worth the expedition to find as it is a bit off the interstate. From the outside it looked like a hole in the wall but once inside it is very colorful and a fun place! The server was a happy woman of obvious Caribbean heritage and very friendly. She made us feel welcome and we enjoyed our meal! read more

The food was delicious, the lady was really nice, it's a small and cozy location, very traditional, the natives do say it's legitimate and that goes miles on my list. The food was actually decent, but when I paid for my food and tried to use a coupon they told me I couldn't it was dine in only. No where on the coupon does it say that and I've had the same coupon from other restaurants that say dine in only. Then the women working there went and got the same coupon from her office that says dine in only. She said she doesn't know why they stop printing it on there. That would have been even more reason for them to honor my coupon. I ordered $40 worth of food and thought I was getting $25 off. I was a bit annoyed and was about to just leave without the food and paying, but I was hungry! lol. Never going back again service is not up to par. I ordered the oxtails, curry chicken and jerk chicken. It was all pretty good and seasoned well. When the guy took my order I told him the main courses and he just walked away. He didn't even let me pic my sides or asked if I wanted white rice or rice and peas. But whatever. never going back again. read more

I looked at the reviews and decided to try this place. The jerk chicken and cabbage was good but rice tasted old. My smaller kids ate chicken fingers and when they were on the last one. My son told me his chicken was chewy. It was raw in the middle. The lady at front took it back and cooked a new one, she was very nice but never apologized. Son had a stomach ache into late nights. read more

We ate there last night on Wednesday August 10, 2016. There were five of us. We ordered three plates of curry shrimp and two plates of curry goat. While waiting over 30 minutes for our food in a very warm temperature wise restaurant as air conditioners were not working, our waiter brought out the three plates of curry shrimp and one plate of curry goat. He then announces that they are out of the curry goat and that plate was the last of it. So Josh has to place an order for something else and wait while we are eating. Our waiter gave us very poor service. I ate the plate of curry goat. I was really disappointed in the amount of goat bones present in the dish while tasty lacked a real amount of goat meat. There was a cup of rice but it only had about 5 or 6 beans in it. The vegetable was a stewed cabbage. I will not go back to this place. read more

Have visited this place 3-4 times, each time getting the jerked chicken. Slow service? Yeah, but I figure if it's good food then it's worth the wait. Shame on me for going back for more. Every time my husband and I go in, it's a long wait and then we get chicken bones with no real meat. Every.single.time. Today was the icing on the cake. Called in a take out order, I said what I wanted, the guy said ok and then hung up... so 15 min later I arrived thinking it would be ready or near ready. Restaurant wasn't too busy. Told the guy what I was picking up he said okay, and we then proceeded to sit there for an additional THIRTY minutes waiting for food. Two people come in after us, order 3-4 containers worth of food, all got theirs before ours. We decided enough was enough we are tired of waiting. As we are walking out the guy says (I think; thick accent was hard to understand) he said he would make it right now..I said I have been here for 30 minutes sir and I left anyways. This is absolute garbage and I'm willing to bet the fact that I'm white has a lot to do with the TERRIBLE service I get every time. This isn't the first time I've experienced issues here but it will certainly be the last. Man. I miss Ocho Rios. read more

Tried this restaurant for the first time last night. It was quite a surprise; I wouldn't have guessed a small town in Kansas would have such yummy & diverse food as this Caribbean eatery. I tried the curry goat and it was delicious! The portions are substantial, and my dinner included collard greens, rice & peas (beans), & fried plantains. My meal was complimented with a chilled Goya ginger beer. It was almost like being back in Florida.... Kudos to the management also for having zero problem with my service dog. It's a family owned & operated restaurant, and the food is prepared tastily and with love. I highly recommend Negril, and am looking forward to eating there again! read more

The Ox tails were fantastic as were the rice and peas....the cabbage I couldn't get enough of!

This place is AMAZING!!!! Me and my family went here a little before 9pm and they still took our order! The food is fresh and DELICIOUS!!!!! The curry goat was so good, all the flavors were there, and very tender. My husband got the brown stewed chicken, and that was very good. The meals come with rice and peas(beans) and seasoned cabbage, we also got a side or plantains(which were double delicious). The servers were very nice and made conversation. We were really lucky that they served us, and after closing hours too! My mom got the curry shrimp, and that's a winner also. The shrimp were fresh and well seasoned, AMAZING!!!! Before we leave Kansas we will be going back to get more! I'm sure everything else is as good as what we tried. I'm going to try the patty when we go back! read more
