Reid’s Home Repair - Framing a new wall

    Reid’s Home Repair

We're so grateful we found Reid's Home Repair for our big basement refinish project - great work…read moreand great humans! Our home was built in 1913 and gut rehabbed in 2024. However, the basement was not finished, but had rough-in plumbing installed. We were looking for someone to finish the basement (4 rooms total), including adding an additional bedroom with closet and full bathroom. This included all electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, door installation, flooring, trim, and painting. Mike was quick to respond to my original inquiry, come check out the space, and provide a quote. He was timely, friendly, and easy to collaborate with. We changed our mind a few times on final design - we appreciate how patient he was with us while we narrowed in on the final plan. The final quote was very detailed and he provided helpful information on the areas for potential cost increase (given that the home is old and there could have been unexpected things identified after work begun). This helped us set our expectations for the project. During the project, he kept us up to date on progress or concerns and kept the area very clean (ensuring very little debris made its way outside the basement into our home). He managed all of the subcontractors (electric, plumbing, carpet, etc) so we didn't need to worry about a thing. Made it super easy by having one point of contact! His work speaks for itself. There were a lot of difficult aspects of the basement to figure out (i.e. uneven walls and ceilings, tricky vents or pipes along the ceiling, water/electrical shutoffs needing to be accessible, etc), but he managed to turn the space into exactly what we were looking for. The attention to detail makes all the difference! In the end, the project took about two months (including carpet installation) and final cost was in line with the estimate. I'd recommend Reid's Home Repair to anyone!

    Trentham Construction and Remodeling

With 30 years experience building entire homes from the ground, up, with his father, he's now started his own company that will benefit our Johnson County residents. Hard working, super-competent, extremely knowledgeable, AND ON TIME EVERY DAY... Trentham Construction and Remodeling, LLC performed two major bath remodeling jobs that have added superior quality and value to our home. He is equally competent at smaller jobs, as well. Despite discovering several hidden structural and plumbing problems, caused by the original builder / contractor, and another out-of-the-county Angie's List contractor that we had to fire, years ago, Nathan was able to tackle and correct each new challenge. If there were last minute changes or additions to the job, we signed a straightforward change-order form that brought our written contract up-to-date. The company's rates are reasonable and within the boundaries of a family's budget. Whether it's a large job or a last-minute addition or change, Nathan is fair and amenable to make it all work. As a contractor, he is clean to a fault (he admits being OCD about job site cleanup). Areas were covered with plastic tarps, and he picked-up, vacuumed, and wiped down rooms where plumbing pieces, sawdust or drywall dust may have spread -- at the end of each day's work. Can't beat that. But the proof is in his finished work. Impeccable. One visitor compared our master bathroom remodel to that of a luxury hotel. And the newly added 3/4 basement bath is convenient to my office, gym, library and other finished rooms. Speaking to Nathan's overall capabilities, when discussing a welding job, my son-in-law asked him, "Is there anything you CAN'T do?" Bottom line: We will hire this company again. Hire Trentham Construction and Remodeling, LLC. You won't be disappointed. NOTE: Both bathes are still in the process of designer accent painting, adding some accessories, and small electrical work. The master bath whirlpool tub is waiting for electroplating of the original metal jet covers. Installation of new designer plumbing fixtures will soon be installed by Trentham.
