The staff are warm and attentive to not just my son, but our whole family, including little sister who we can't wait to enroll as well. Administration is communicative, the curriculum is engaging, and it's just a warm and lovely place to be a part of. I also appreciate that they regularly have events open to the whole family so you feel like they are invested in knowing your whole family. The school is very diverse in both the children that attend and the staff as well, which is incredibly important to us. We are choosing to keep our son with Noah's Ark an additional year, rather than going to our local schools pre-K program because we have been so happy with it. 100% recommend to everyone.

When picking him up, I always observed him left by himself to play in a little corner while the other kids would gather together in a separate part of the classroom. One day, one of the teacher's aids called my son "abnormal" and suggested I have him checked out. At the time, I had an existing appointment for him to be seen for an autism diagnosis - which has since been confirmed. The main teacher also said that the preschool wasn't a good fit for him after I had asked about facilitated play to encourage more socialization. They were not willing to put in any extra effort for my child with special needs. Fast forward, I ended up taking him out of this preschool and brought him to Napa Junction Elementary preschool which was an integrated class for autistic and neurotypical kids. It was inclusive and the teachers and aids were excellent. It was truly a judgement free atmosphere and my son has been thriving ever since. Being a Christian school, I thought Noah's Arc would be more inclusive of kids with different needs and judgement free. This was not the case. I don't usually like to write bad reviews but hopefully it will help parents decide whether or not it is a "right fit" if their child is autistic.

Mustard Seed Preschool & Kindergarten

When it came time to look for a preschool for my daughter (4 years ago) I did a lot of research…read moreonline and in person. Thanks to all the great reviews here on Yelp and also a referral from one of my very good friends we decided to go with Mustard Seed as a place for my daughter to grow. She was 4 years old when she started and was very, very shy and was nervous. But it did not take her long to warm up and get comfortable with her super sweet classmates and the wonderful staff. The following year she continued onto TK and flourished into this bright intelligent little girl. The teachers at Mustard Seed did such an amazing job teaching the all the students and preparing them for Kindergarten. My daughter is currently in 2nd grade and is reading at the 6th grade level and I can't imagine her advancing to this level of education if it weren't for Mustard Seed. Fast forward - I needed child care for my youngest son as I prepared to go back to work and so thankful they have a toddler program I was able to enroll my son in at 18 months old. They love and care for all the children like it were their own and this gives us parents a peace of mind. He is now 3 1/2 years old and graduated to the preschool room where he absolutely loves to learn and play with his classmates that he calls, his best friends.

My Son was in kindergarten but now he is moving on to first grade and my daughter will continue to come here she was in preschool but now she will be starting TK. The teachers and staff at mustard seed really love what they do! They are all about the children's safety and well being. Not only that they make learning fun and exciting! My kids always looked forward to going to school each day. This place is very family oriented and they treat our children as if they were their own. Nothing but love and compassion from mustard seed! I'm kinda sad that it had to end so abruptly but I'm hoping and praying this fall we can have a better year for 20/21 school year! I sure do give teachers a whole new level of respect, their jobs are not easy! All teachers need to have more recognition for the work that they do!

Samantha creates so many engaging, hands-on activities that keep the children interested and learning every day. My son comes home with the most creative art projects that we cherish. She is incredibly responsive to my son's needs and provides a loving, nurturing environment. She provides home cooked breakfast and lunch that is nutritious everyday! Her home is always clean, organized, and welcoming. She is always communicative with our family. Our son truly enjoyed coming to daycare and looked forward to it each day, which meant so much to us as parents. We always felt confident that he was safe, well cared for, and genuinely loved while he was there. We are very grateful for the care our family received and highly recommend this daycare to others.

Our daughter Kaia started with Samantha as a little toddler, and from day one, we knew we found something special. The amount of care, intention, and heart she pours into the kids is rare. The home-cooked meals alone are incredible (meals I wish someone cooked for me), but it is so much more than that. There is structure, fun, learning, outdoor time, music, a jumpee, arts and crafts, everything a child needs to grow, explore, and feel safe. When we first started, there was a mutual trial period and we were a little weirded out by it, but now we totally get it, Samantha makes sure it's a great fit for her as well as for you, as a parent. The result is a group of very well adjusted kids, parents who care and are invested in their kid's development, and a group of kids that care for each other. Samantha communicates, sets clear expectations, and makes parents feel at ease. Even on days when drop-off was tough, Kaia ran into her arms like she was going to see family. That tells you everything. Our daughter has grown in ways we cannot even put into words, socially, emotionally, and developmentally. Samantha has been an essential part of our household and our lives. Leaving California means leaving Homegrown Daycare, and it is bittersweet. This place is unforgettable, and so is Samantha. If you are a parent searching for a daycare where your child will be loved, protected, and poured into, look no further. We are forever grateful for her and her own family. We hope they come visit us in Hawaii someday. Five stars is not enough for the level of care she gives. Samantha, Kaia and we will miss you so very much and thank you for guiding Kaia's growth love, kindness, and patience.
