Mr Brown (Principal) and Ms Levy (Rock Teacher) are two of the best MCPS can offer. Also, the magnet/enrichment program has given our son unforgettable experiences with their trips, projects and challenging courses. However, one of the most memorable trips was available to all students taking rock band as a course (performing at the rock and roll hall of fame in Cleveland). Apparently the magnet program is changing its curriculum and approach, but regardless of whether this is an improvement or not for the program, I would still recommend RCMS given the talented staff and leadership of the school.

I never really give bad reviews but this school sucks. If you bought an expensive house just to be…read morezoned to this middle school thinking this is one of the top schools in Moco? Think again. The kids are all ratchet, bullying is through the roof. The staff can't really do anything because that have to follow a "code of conduct " giving students slaps on the wrist as punishments. I'm not even mad at the staff, if you can't do something because that what your boss says then that is what it is. My kid was transferred from Gaithersburg Middle School to here in 6th grade because that school was too crazy. (Fights everyday) to Rocky Hills, which is like fights every other week. I guess that's what happens when you move to a better neighborhood. Less reoccurrence of fights and kids getting jumped but it's still happening. Kids smoking weed pens in the bathroom or vapes. If your kid goes here? Talk to your child, seriously. Make sure they are mentally "ok". This school has changed my kid because the girls are like animals, they will "size you up" and try you. Fight you, and they group together to jump you. I have been up to the school multiple occasions, they know who I am. The board of education needs to come to every school in Moco and see what's happening. If it's happening here? In other schools too!

My kids (7 year boy, 6 year girl) have been going there for the last 3 years. Initially, it was not my idea or desire for them to go here due to budget (we will be paying this bill off a few years after they have moved on!), but I'm glad their mother insisted. I'm certain Montgomery County schools couldn't have produced half the results and god only knows what kind of garbage would have tainted my children's innocence at any number of MoCo's schools! I wouldn't say AoC is conservative, yet I wouldn't categorize them as liberal either. Again, a perfect balance. You are welcome to share your a faith and discuss it, but they certainly introduce science in its entirety and don't promote any particular religion. They are balanced in all subjects, and are very quick to pin-point natural deficits of each student and focus on these weak-points. And of course, as a Montessori school, the learning is very hands on which is great for all children who just love to touch anything and everything! I'm impressed with how clean and organized the school is every time I visit and the programs they put on (including the yearly spring play) are always carefully thought out and executed. I also love how this school is multicultural, racially and religiously tolerant, informed, current, but still objective and consistent. Pick-up/drop-off is extremely quick and convenient and they communicate any changes and reminders way ahead of time via mass emails. They are everything you could want from an educational facility and more. As an educator (private music instructor), I highly recommend them!

Most subjects are hands on and based on kenetic learning which suits me. But, here in WMHS, I believe most of the teachers don't want to be there let alone teach. They are more obbsess with failing students than teaching. I had VERY High ambitions in life before I entered this dump. I use to be creative, boulder, and made comic books with great stories before my dad threw them away because my grades were slipping because my boring teacher were too busy regurgitate stuff into our heads training us to memorize the material which I will forget after the exams rather than utilizing the material. Watching me and my very talented friends being drained by this place turned us into mi ww3ndless drones. I also notice us Boys are the ones who suffered the most and drop out. The only thing I learned from this place and MD education system is to be Obedient, follow the rules, and work for a corporation. 5 years later after I graduated, I lost all my talent, passion for Science, and ambition.
