There's things to help anyone learn this hard language. A lot of items typically found in a bookstore. It has books of course. There's most by Chinese authors, as well as others that have been translated from other languages. A few are also in English. There's also magazines about culture and travel. Good if planning a trip to China. There's also gifts such as toys. Have to make an update about this business. It seems to have closed the physical location. This has turned into a store with clothes but you can still order from the website.

I've also gotten my parent's travel books to Australia here, and books for Christmas. They have a big selection of books and they also have CDs, and other trinkets here. They take credit cards, but are very reluctant to take them here. It's like she increases the minimum amount every single time. I guess I'd come prepared by bringing cash here. Sometimes they have their son working here who can speak some English, which is better than the other bookstore in Chinatown. I guess it forces me to practice the little Mandarin I remember.

They really emphasize the importance of customer service and have been really helpful in helping my design my piece, even if I come in with almost no idea of how I want something framed. To me their prices are a tad higher than what I was expecting to pay, but given the high quality work they do and how easy they make the entire process, this place provides great value if you need something framed. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I've had two experiences with the Frame Shop across its Bridgeport and Lincoln Park location and there have been some common themes that I think does a good job representing the values and aspects of framing that this place is trying to do well. What I really do appreciate about the Frameshop is how serious they're taking covid. Each location is only open a few days a week and people only come in by appointment only. Not only does this reduce the number of people around me but it gives me individual attention when it comes to getting inspiration in terms of how to set up my framed piece. Every time I've been, the person working has had a mask on as well, and there is plenty of hand sanitizers. The other thing I've noticed across my experiences, is their focus on quality framing and customer service. I am honestly a novice when it comes to framing, but even then, I always really appreciate and am impressed by the finished product. Like when I get my pieces back, I always think "Damn, this is really nice" and it makes me feel like I have my sh*t together as an adult. It's like putting on a nice suit, you automatically feel like a million bucks, even if half my wardrobe is gym shorts and t-shirts. In terms of customer service, I had a terrible first experience at Lincoln Park, but the frame shop reached out to me and let me know they had already taken steps to address some of the issues I had previously experienced, even before I gave my feedback. I am glad I gave them another shot, and I truly believe that my second experience is more representative of what you can expect based on how genuinely apologetic they were and based on other reviews. Going in the second time, I just had a few pieces from my wedding I wanted framed as an anniversary gift. I had nothing in mind of how it would go together or how it would look. Cole helped me and made the whole process really easy. He took what few ideas I had, filled in some blanks, and within 15 min we had outlined the piece and I was super happy with it. That process could not have been easier. I still do get some sticker shock when it comes to the price. Compared to what I had in mind, we're still within the same ballpark, but still higher than what I thought I was going to pay going in. But to be fair, I'm basing this off prices in my hometown, and have never gone anywhere else in Chicago, as some of the other reviewers seem to have, and found the Frame Shop to be cheaper. But given the quality of the final product, the amazing customer service, and the eye for design the workers have, you're still going to get great overall value when come to the Frame Shop.

Basically, adults pay $8 for a studio fee, then you get to sit there as long as you'd like and paint your ceramic. They have a whole wall to choose from with an abundance of different designs, and your final price is based on which piece that you chose. My heart shaped mini pot was $22. In the three times I've been here, the designs have switched out often, so there's always something new to paint. The color chart is also super helpful and you can use an unlimited amount of colors (not that you need that many to complete a ceramic anyways). After you're finished with your design, you wait 2-3 weeks while they glaze and fire it. Then, it's all set and you get to use it forever!! Truly, this is such a fun date night or girls night activity!! I've been with a bunch of different people, and it's always a fun time!

The staff was friendly and accommodating while also just letting us work on our projects without disruption. The prices were as expected ($20-35/piece + a studio fee) with an amazing variety of cool unique pieces. You walk through the rug tufting portion of the store on the way in and it's amazing to see how the tufting process in action and how creative people are! I'd love to come back another time to try that! I'd definitely recommend this location to anyone looking-it's the perfect spot for a friend/mom/significant other date night!
