The selection of items was good. There was one section that needed restocking, but there were signs indicating that. My daughter found what she needed and so did I. I'm not sure why this location gets so few stars. The service was good. Michael's is always having a sale. It's a matter of careful planning and timing. Shop at the end of the season for more bang for your buck. Sign up for rewards and use codes for more savings. Michaels crafts is loaded with all types of craft categories. I especially like their beads, yarns for crochet and knitting, paints, markers, and picture frames. It's well stocked and well organized. Worth the trip. Even during the hectic time of Christmas shopping this store is doing a great job. Items were easy to find, they were well staffed and social distancing measures were in play. Great job guys keep it up. The online shopping, in-store pickup process is simply the best shopping experience I've had during the pandemic. So easy and no touch. Michaels sends you an email where you can indicate when you're on your way and when you arrive. You can enter the space number where you are parked and you get a page with a scan code with your receipt. A Michaels associate soon appears with your order and you show your code to them and they hand you your order. So easy, so clean. A great value too! read more

Last year this place was a mess but recently it really cleaned up. Must be under new management. The customer service is helpful and the store is finally clean and organized. Now I don't have to drive all the way to Hillside. Yay! Keep it up South-side Michaels! read more

The framing department here is not very good. I went in to have some old drawings framed for a collector. The screws that were used to attach the wire were screwed in so deep they created a dimple in the front of the frame. The matte board used for the frame was cut beyond the corners so you could see the slits created when a cutter is pushed to exceed the cut line. She told me that is standard and that is how things are normally framed. She pointed to the other badly framed photos on the wall to justify her claim. It only further showcased the store's lack of professional polish. I called another frame shop and they told me that is not how matte boards are meant to be cut. Matte boards are meant to be cut from the back and the slit marks are not supposed to show. The person that does the framing either has little-to-no experience or does not really have the level of craftmanship needed to present great work. If you are not seeking impeccability, I guess it's an alright service to use. If you are a professional artist, a person that is into detail or someone that takes pride in how your framed work is presented, do not get it framed at Michael's. Very well stocked, deals on a lot of scrapbooking stuff which is my favorite section of the store. There were 3 cashiers today ringing people out so there was no wait. Tons of Easter decorations are up and it's only Feb 4th lol the Valentine's Day section was small I assume everyone bougHt out this stuff sooner. This store is honestly a mess and it's unfortunate because I shop at Michaels all the time! The little staff they have working on the floor know absolutely NOTHING about their products. I was looking for a particular item one time and was told by a worker that they don't sell that item. I accidentally found it while looking for glue EVEN THOUGH I was told they didn't sell it. Also, when I ask for advice on certain products I always get the same answer... "I don't know". Oh and not to mention that they NEVER have anything in stock. Sucks that the workers here make this place look bad. read more

I got an email showing a sale on frames. So I thought what a great time to get my great grandparents portrait reframed and a painting a friend painted for me. I arrive at this store and go right to the back in the frame department. There's not one employee in the back so I press the button alerting them I need service. I wait and press it again. I wait some more and press it again. Then a polite young lady tells her supervisor Emily via radio that I wanted a frame and wanted to place an order. Emily told her that nobody in the store could take my order because nobody is trained. I was not offered any other assistance and nobody offered to call any other stores to see if they take my order.
