It was a warm June day when the desire for something sweet, sticky, and ultra-smelly washed over me. What I wanted most in the world, on this day of days, was high quality herb that would lift my cheeks and lower my eyelids. I had heard tale of a magical place that existed, just a modest walk to the east from the city center. A place that held within its walls the stickiest of the ickiest. Flower so pungent, the scent alone has been rumored to cause canine officers from Idaho night terrors. The mythical place, known only as Nectar, seemed to be a modern day Shangri-La but as I soon found out, it was much more real. I journeyed on foot from the Burnside Bridge, taking a leisurely and pleasant stroll towards my destination. The building was even more beautiful than was described to me. Nectar seemed like a luscious oasis in the depths of a never ending desert and I was so thirsty. I opened the gates into this floral paradise and was greeted by the sound of angelic trumpets. I was overcome with the feeling of love and light that emanated from the Nectar employee who verifies proper identification cards and in that joy, I burst into tears. He assured me that my outburst of emotion wasn't misplaced and offered me a tissue to wipe away my tears and provided mental & emotional support in a time when I needed it most. After a few moments of deep breathing and a short yoga routine, I regained my composure enough to make my way into the sales room. I was greeted by a bevvy of beautiful and smiling peoples, all of them glowing with a golden aura of serenity and wisdom. I locked eyes with one of the budtenders behind the counter and timidly approached. Bethany, my budtender this visit, was a bastion of cannabis information and advice on a variety of their products. Once again, I felt the need to burst into tears but I remained strong and withheld from expressing too much joyous emotion. Bethany, from the deepest depths of her endless pool of knowledge, spoke to me of a deal; the deal to end all deals as far as I was concerned. It was a deal that offered so much flower at such an affordable price, one would be literally insane to not take advantage of it. I, being of sound mind and mental health, purchased my variety of flower and took full advantage of the deal being offered to me. I thanked Bethany for her time, attention, and assistance during my visit. She was ultra-patient, hyper-informative, and extra awesome. As I left the sales floor, I waved goodbye to all of the beautiful and angelic employees and gave them a well deserved "tip-of-the-hat". My experience at Nectar was filled with excitement and adventure, surprise and joy, laughter and reward. It was a journey I'm glad I made and an experience I'll never forget... TL;DR - Nectar rocks. I've been to multiple dispensaries throughout Portland but always wind up back at Nectar. Their selection and quality of flowers/edibles/waxes surpasses any other dispensary I have visited, and their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well which makes this place my go-to dispensary around the city... My best friend's parents were in Portland for the evening and the only thing on their to-do list was to visit a dispensary. This place instantly came to mind. They were thoroughly impressed after walking through the door. Virginia was our budtender and she couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. It is obvious that she cares about her customers and can back the product that she is selling. I recently got my OMMP card, and so my partner and I decided to go to Nectar, because of its famous $99 ounces and also because the location is conveniently close to his job. I had no idea what to expect. All of the workers were friendly and they were excited for me, being it was my first time! I have only been there a handful of times, yet I already feel so comfortable when I walk in the door. They have menus that are displayed like food items at a fancy restaurant. A nice selection with friendly people. The place was fairly busy when I got there but I was assisted in five minutes or so. The person helping me seemed a bit overwhelmed and not extremely helpful (maybe new?), but I use concentrates and edibles and kind of knew what I wanted. They have a great selection with prices similar to what I have seen elsewhere. I did not look at flowers. I will go here for convenience and access to accessories, but stick to my local shop for getting my medicinal knowledge. read more

Overpriced bad weed. I paid $60 for an ounce of mostly stems and shwag. Without the sale I think it was like $75ish . Absolutely no reason to go here when you can get far better ounces for $20 or less all over town. Why is the mid tier here worse than the bottom self at most other dispensaries? I went into Nectar to grab some flower and was incredibly pleased with their selection and also their prices. I was able to get a variety of strains at an unreal price. The budtender, Bethany, was really nice and helpful. She entertained my questions and helped me find the right flower me.
