An old multi-storey car park desperately in need of replacement. It's painted from time to time but, other than that, nothing ever improves. Even the paint is covered in graffiti in no time and there is litter and awful smells in the stairwell. One of the upper levels suffers from flooding (I'm not sure how this happens) and you can get your feet very wet if you're not careful where you park. There are piles of pigeon droppings which are never cleaned up - some of the solidified piles have been there for years. The old swing doors are very heavy to open making it very difficult for older people or people with push chairs. The very worst thing about the car park is the pit in the road as you drive out. It's a drain cover with quite a drop into it; I always dread the clunk as two of my tyres drop into it one after another - I'm sure it is damaging yet there's no way to avoid this nasty hole. There is a cranky old lift inside the car park as well as stairs and this takes you down into the Wilkinson shop. You have to pay good money for using this car park too!! UPDATE JULY 2009: The hole on the outside has now been filled in so that's one small improvement! read more
