I brought my vehicle due to a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) warning light showing on my dashboard. Owings Location. 1. Misrepresentation of vehicle condition (claiming seized calipers). 2. False information (claiming TPMS work had been completed when it had not). 3. Deceptive business practices (attempting to sell unnecessary repairs). 4. Breach of trust and professional integrity. Inspection Report:I received an inspection via email, which stated that the two front TPMS sensors were not functioning. o I received a phone call from Sarah, who recommended replacing both front TPMS sensors and suggested replacing the rear ones as well, when the front TPMS are not working the back TPMS are not far behind. o I later received a call & email regarding the bumper to bumper inspection, stating a seized caliper and heavily worn pads and rotors. o Per the technician Cailen Moyihan, the front brake caliper(s) Urgent: one or more caliper(s) were seized, and replacement of pads, rotors, and calipers was "urgent." o Sarah quoted a repair estimate of approximately $1,749, stating that all parts were in stock. * 9:09 AM (Day of Service): Received a text from Sarah stating the vehicle was still in the shop and not ready for pickup. * 10:50 AM: Another message from Sarah stating the same -- the vehicle was still in the shop and was not ready. * That evening, I called Sarah to request to pick up the vehicle the next morning. She confirmed that it would be no problem. * Next Morning: o Upon arrival, Sarah told me the vehicle was not ready. o I left and called back shortly after to inquire about what had been completed. o Sarah placed me on hold to ask the technician. o She returned and said the TPMS had been completed, and they were moving forward with the brake repairs. o I immediately told her to stop all any further work on the vehicle and that I would come to pick it up. * While still on the phone: o Sarah put me on hold again, and then the mechanic came on the line. o He apologized for the confusion and I asked him what had been completed on the vehicle, he said he would have to ask the tech, the mechanic came back on the phone and said that nothing had been done to the vehicle. o This contradicted Sarah's earlier claim that the TPMS was completed. o Therefore, Sarah misrepresented the status of the repairs. * I later received voicemail from Sarah expressing "concern" about my brake system -- after lying about completed work. * These communications were manipulative and inappropriate. Based on the shop's claim of seized brake calipers, * I had the vehicle inspected by two separate independent mechanical shops. I needed to make sure I received two inspections to confirm the calipers were not seized and they did not need replacement. * Both shops confirmed: o No signs of seized brake calipers or in need of replacement * Front Brake System * Finding: * Front Brake System - Pads, Rotors & Calipers Urgent: Seized Front Brake Caliper Detected We found that your front brake pads and rotors are heavily worn, and more importantly, one or more of your front calipers are seized. The caliper is the part that presses the pads against the rotor to stop your vehicle. When it seizes, it can cause the brakes to drag, overheat, or even lock up--severely affecting your ability to stop safely. This issue leads to rapid and uneven brake wear, vibrations, pulling while braking, and potential damage to other components. If left unchecked, it can cause complete brake failure or result in extremely costly repairs down the line. this place deserves no star.. I took my car to Nealy Auto Service for a simple oil change. which cost me 110.00 the mechanic tell me that I need to replace carburetor flap not closing properly and proceeds to tell me that it will cost 2,000. so I take my car for a second opinion to a foreign auto repair shop and come to find out that my car is fully functioning and it's completely computerized there was no such repairs for my car. I'm so glad I did not take their word for this so called repair I would have been out of 2,000. read more

I have taken my cars here since 2011. Recently, Mr. Hank retired and now it's Nealy's, though all the signs say Twin Beach. I called earlier this am to ask about checking a tire for a slow leak and they said they could check it and had time. I left immediately (about 3 miles away) and when I got there, they told me it was a 1-2 hour wait and could not give me an exact time. I'm glad it happened, because we also have a new truck and I know not to have it serviced here. Dodged a bullet. I then called Eagle by the 7-11 and they fit me right in and got the screw out and plugged it in 20 minutes. They were also very kind and gracious. Eagle will now be our go to place. This place is nothing like when Mr. Hank was running things. We will not be back, after 11 years of our business. Also, my oil change previously went from $20 up to $60 as my car says to use synthetic. Mr. Hank never made me put synthetic in it. I get it, but it would have been nice to know. read more

I had a really great experience taking my car here for an oil change while I was in town. They take cars first come first served starting at 7:30am; I got there around 9:15 and my car was serviced pretty much right away. I was in and out in probably half an hour. The staff were all very friendly and they have a comfortable waiting room inside as well. The oil change also only cost $20 which compared to what I'm used to in DC was pretty amazing. read more

I brought my 2017 Santa Fe in to this shop for a normal oil change. I was told that I needed front rear brake brake pads and rotors as it was almost done to the bare metal at a cost of $603.43 for the front brakes pads and rotors and $739.83 for the rear brake pads and rotors. Since I only had 57000 miles on the car I was a bit skeptical since I had experienced no problems such as squealing brakes or shuddering of the brake pedal. So I took the car to another repair shop and asked them to check my brakes. They did so and said my front brakes had some wear (they said "half life"), but the rear brakes were fine. They were shocked when I told them what Nealey had recommended. I was also told I needed a new air filter as mine was very dirty. When I got home I checked the filter and it was still pretty clean! AND... they also recommended flushing and replacing all fluids - front and rear differential, transfer case, etc. This place is definitely not an honest merchant. Will never recommend them to anyone. Update for my review from 5 years ago- This place and the employees are freaking AMAZING. They saved my life (literally) yet again. Y'all I can't express my gratitude enough for this company. I've come here for 15yrs for oil changes and minor car issues-never EVER have I had a bad experience or anything negative AT ALL. I have a 2014 Kia Sorento. Last year my engine was replaced by Kia Waldorf (dealerships I bought my car through) well AFTER they replaced my engine, I needed an oil change & my car started to smell like gas. (We've had squirrels chew through fuel line & thought that was the issue) NOPE! The lead technician pulled me aside, explained everything to me, showed me on my car, and had the situation printed it out, so I could refer to it when I called the dealership. He also suggested/told me my car wasn't safe to drive & he couldn't let me leave driving my car. So on a Saturday midday I had my car towed & Twin beach drove me to my house. The fuel line was faulty due to the service received by Kia Waldorf & they should have taken the extra steps to double check the fuel line-but they didn't. Twin beach saved my life Then today, I head to twin beach for an oil change & tire rotation & I asked them to do a once over check because we are picking up our kid from college in a few weeks & she'll be driving my car while she's home. Welp Twin Beach saved my life again..... Twin beach auto in Chesapeake Beach saves me AGAIN......same car, same engine-different screw up by the dealership. The work that Kia Waldorf did when they replaced my engine awhile back, welp the bolts that hold my engine in place (kinda important bolts) 1 is missing and the other is broken off. Not something that just randomly happens-it's because Kia Waldorf didn't put them in and put them in correctly. All I can say is I'm happy my kid wasn't driving my car and the engine fall out and thank God I asked the guys at twin beach to double check everything, which they did. Y'all this auto shop is GREAT! They truly care about their customers & have proven that to me more times than I can count-3 times since we've had the Kia. If you want an honest, trustworthy mechanic this is the COMPANY/PLACE. I had to take my daughters S UV to twin beach for the power steering pump was making noise they changed the pump for $700.00 little steep but we needed it done because of her work schedule. We got the car back everything appeared fine the next day however the truck started overheating the air conditioner kept shutting of so we deiced to have that fixed somewhere else. So about a month later she comes home with no power steering So i am going to have a friend check to see if a new pump was installed truck is going back to there to be fixed the truck came out worse than it went in i will update later read more

I had been experiencing my car engine stopping on me while driving. So, I brought it to TWIN BEACH AUTO being close to my address in May 10 at about 11:00 AM. I was told that the car needs an ENGINE TUNE UP! Since, I am driving with a toddler and I do not want to risk any accident by the car stopping in the middle of a drive again, I let them do the tune up so I can drive SAFELY. They are the mechanic, I trusted them. I paid $641, they did the work. By about 4:00 PM, I got the car and drove to Prince Frederick. On my way back, the car didn't just totally stopped in the middle of MD-4, the engine was smoking white with burning smells! Thanks to some good Samaritan, the car (with me and my 3-year old) was pushed safely to the closest parking lot. I called for a tow-truck to have the car towed back to TWIN BEACH AUTO. The moment the tow-truck man opened my hood, he told me to check on factory recalls for this car model's engine. He knew right away that the engine was problematic. May 11, TWIN BEACH AUTO, checked the car and told me to bring it to a Hyundai Delearship for the "Hyundai Sonata Engine Warranty Extension"!!! I felt, scammed! They could have told me this before they asked me to pay for an engine tune up to an engine that is already known to be problematic! I paid $641 for a service that did not do anything for my car and our safety! I felt scammed because I thought after they did the engine tune up, I will be safely driving on the road. Well, it did not happen. Instead, I was driving on a bad engine (which they tuned up!!!!) and ended me in the middle of the road with a smoking car! read more

I needed 4 rims balanced and was told $25.00 each, come on down now. Great! Right? Nope. Getting the truck back on the road, something was definitely not right. Took it back and they tried again no charge, great! right? Nope. Still got it wrong. So I spoke with the owner and he told me to let his front end guy look at it. Great! right? Nope. I knew nothing was wrong with the front end and so did he. Took it to a friend who has a balancing machine and the problem was solved easily. Turns out they were using the wrong type and wrong size weights. Now, if they can't handle a simple wheel balancing job, I dam sure wouldn't trust them with my engine. In my opinion they are crooks and I got away fairly cheap. read more

I called in to have 4 Sumitomo tires put on, later on I was told that the boss gave me the wrong the information. They didn't have those tires and that they would be putting on some Crosswind tires that I never heard of. The up charge on tires are ridiculous, $129 per tire, tire rack doesn't stock them, simply tire has them for $65 per tire. They definitely got me with having a flat and prior tire trouble and having a drive to work at 32 miles one way. I don't normally give reviews or bad ones at that, but wow. I understand they are a local auto care shop, but where is the consultation or basic customer service. read more

Had a few experiences with them because I kept giving them the benefit of a doubt. Never again. I moved into the area a while back with an older BMW, 1987. Safety inspection NOT required in MD due to age. They failed to convey that info and not only did the inspection, added on rear rotors, pads, etc. in order to pass it. Went in there a couple more times and each time they tried to add on additional items. Their 'courtesy shuttle' consisted of a man who had to blow into a DUI device in order to start the Blazer so the man could give me a ride home. Can you say, "No class?" read more

Terrible service at a high price. The are over priced for not being able to do the little things. Received an alinement, tire rotation and balance with and oil change. This was almost $300.00. Oh then they forgot to fill the tire with more then 10 pounds of air when I got home. The owner did not apologize or offer to correct the situation. I've been taking my audi a4 here for about 2 years. I thought service was great. My oil changes cost 80 so the last time I went they cashed me out at 20...they said there was no reason to keep synthetic oil in my car so without asking me they decided to switch my type of oil. Today I'm at the audi dealership with my car making a horrible noise...after sime time they brought my oil filter out and showed me it was never changed. Who knows how long this has been happening. .. the entire 2 years I've trusted them? My recomendation is to stay clear of this place. Thank goodness there was no damage. read more

My neighbors all told me of problems they had with this car care center. I wanted to give my business to our town so I thought I'd ignore what I heard and went to them. Most of the neighbor's problems were from "sloppy" work on the "easy stuff"...oil changes, brake jobs etc. Well...I had two bad experiences: Took my son's car there for the 3,000 mile oil change. He's a new driver and drives a lot. We noticed one morning pools of oil under the car! Discovered that they hadn't tightened a bolt where the oil was changed!!!!! Great! The boy doesn't know better and keeps driving. They are SLOPPY with the easy stuff so don't trust them with the harder stuff. I took my car in for routine maintenance. Gave them my "CELL PHONE NUMBER" to call when finished. Well 5:00 came and NO CALL so I CALLED them. The owner Hank tells me they are walking out the door and that they did try to call me. NOT...and they literally debated me on the phone!!! Would't stay and wait for me! What great customer service. I saw no trace of a call on any phone. Thought maybe they called my work number....cell phone number..... Home number?? Not a call. Ditch this place and go to Eagle Tire....or any one of the other places in our area. These guys don't care about customer service. read more

I give NO STARS!! The customer service was terrible as was the whole process. This is just a warning, I don't usually do this. I know everyone needs business. I needed my sons truck MD inspected so he can take it with him to his first duty station in the next few weeks. I made that very clear when I took it to Twin Beach Car Care. After 90min and $95, the owner Hank gives me my list of infractions and tells me I need to bring it back by the 13th, this is the 7th, his inspector will be out for over a month. They could gladly make the repairs for over $900. No refund was offered, of course I declined. I'm angry of course but fortunate my father and husband can do the work. Come to find out one of the parts I don't need but he put it on as a fail and was gonna charge me to replace. When I called to ask if I leave it off it would pass, he said call me in 10 min and don't be longer than that I have to leave. So I call in 7 min and get my answer yes I can leave it off but don't forget I have to bring it in by Tuesday to be reinspected. So now shortened by another day. The total of the parts was $60 and 4 hours. I don't think that would equal over 900 in any honest mechanic shop. I hear the Sunoco in Lothian charges $65 for an inspection. No wonder everyone shakes their head when I tell them this. I never had to go to a garage for anything other than this type of stuff, having a father as a mechanic. I feel sorry for the people who do especially the women and elderly. I took my father with me the second time, just as security. I hope you post this, he honestly shouldn't have made my appointment, or anyone else. As the owner and a " Mechanic" he wasn't as informative as he should have been, in my opinion. This inspector that is going to be out never showed his face or spoke with us at all and that is usually not the case. Never in all my life have I had to deal with such nonsense. You just don't give someone 3business days for what is legally a 30 day process! read more

Went in (without an appointment) with an intermittent rattle in our 2009 Subaru Outback; quickly diagnosed as loose heat shield and repaired at no cost (even though they were busy with other customers). Manager politely suggested a tip for the technician if I wanted, which I was happy to do. Ok to start with I took my car up to get the clutch and flywheel replaced. I was told it would be $800 because I had all my own parts. So the day came for me to get my car back and everything was fine except they didn't adjust the clutch/ignition switch out so I had to press the clutch down super hard just to start the car. A couple days went by and everything seemed ok until I drove 22 miles to work and heard a really load noise and my clutch pedal was jumping around. Took it back up there to find out that the flywheel bolts had came loose after they "torqued" them down and was told that the new bolts where a hair shorter than the original ones so they just used them and applied lock tight and torqued. Picked the car up again and got the check engine light. Well since they were already closed because the mechs leave at 5 and the shop closes at 530 decided I would just keep it until the morning, read the code myself and see if I could fix it. Well while looking around I noticed that one of the grounds wasn't even hooked up so I took the car back up there and got that fixed. Told me everything was good now. Drove for about 5 min and the check engine light came back on. started looking around again and noticed the wheel speed sensor/ABS sensor on the front right wheel had fallen out of the knuckle. Took it back up there because the bolt wasn't there and was told by they guy who worked on my car "I don't know if I even touched that or not". They reinstalled the sensor and "test drove" the car and I was told it was good to go. Pick it up, drove off and got 5 min down the road just for the check engine light to come on again. Took and back and left it over night for them to call and tell me they checked the entire system and that the wheel speed sensor is bad and they wanted $150 to replace it. So I said no I will just do it myself for cheaper. Got home just to see that the vehicle speed sensor on top of the transaxle was so loose I removed it with my bare hands. NEVER GO TO THIS SHOP UNLESS YOU HAVE TOO. ONLY ONE STAR BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO SELECT A STAR TO SUMIT THE REVIEW. read more

One of my head lights was out and one of my tail lights was out. Only needed to replace the bulbs, I went in there knowing this because my brother in law is a Diesel mechanic but he didn't have the parts and I didn't have time. Went to get my bill $50.00. In the big scheme of things not that much money BUT the receipt said 7.99 for parts and 42 dollars for LABOR! I was in the store for all of 5 minutes. Will never go back, should have listened to all the bad things I've heard about them! read more

Charged me almost $1000 to fix a clutch. The next day the transmission wouldn't go into gear at all. They had to come and tow the car back to their shop for another day. Then I noticed all the lugs on a rear tire were loose and one had been snapped off completely. That tire was snug when it went in. Why they would touch the rear tire, I don't know other than to possibly create more business for themselves. They've also done shoddy work on my mother's car. Simple oil changes..NOT RECOMMENDED!! This place is so close to my home but, after having a couple of oil changes done there, I have had life changing experience. A few years ago I was the type of person who could change my own oil and do other maintenance on my truck and car. I am a woman and a do it yourselfer. I considered myself strong but, after I had my oil changed from Twin Beach Car Care, I was so mad when I tried to remove the oil drain plug! OMG it was so tight I couldn't get it off and my neighbor came over and he was struggling for a good 15 minutes trying to loosen the plug. My independant life changed after I suffered nerve damage in my wrists from trying to loosen the plugs which obviously were over-tightened with an air wrench on both occasions. I used to enjoy doing my own oil changes because it's so hard to find good quality car care service. Now, I take my truck and car somewhere else..and I don't even know how tight the drain plug is. Guess I can't worry about it now......... read more

If there was an option for a negative rating, I'd rate -5. First off, my family and I started taking our vehicles here for oil changes, $14.95..which is more than fair compared to $50+ elsewhere. When my mazda check engine light came on I brought it in, and had them pull the code up. It was fuel leak. I said ok, give it a check and let me know.. what started out as fuel leak became $2,300 problem. Of course, my mistake for having the car serviced, but I figured what the hell get it done. They called me and told me all these little things that needed to be done, cool do it. Picked my car up, paid, and went home. Literally, 4 days later my check engine light was back on. Had no time to bring it back in, so when I had a chance I had auto zone pull the code for me. Come to find out nothing, absolutely nothing was "serviced" on my mazda. Had a family mechanic take a look, he also confirmed nothing was taken care of. I was furious. Robbed. read more
