First of all, NCSA is not a scam. I would've given them a 5 star review, but they lost one star because our first coach wasn't very attentive. However, we were assigned a replacement coach, Coach Hugh McAdam, who was excellent. It was like he was custom fit for my son. Both lightweight rowers and Hugh is an award winning rower. He helped us narrow down my son's choices by asking the right questions and he also contacted the coaches himself because he knew some of them from his career in rowing. We had a weekly call for an entire year and he kept my son accountable for the tasks he had to do to get recruited and visible. If you have a kid who needs that, NCSA will help. If you're not liking your experience with a coach, just ask for new one until you get the right fit. I guarantee you'll never get what you don't ask for. NCSA is a complete waste of time and money. They are just another typical sales scam, "buy it now to get discounted rate or no discounts later." Out assigned counselor got ill and the "replacement" counselor never bothered to connect even after we tried to email him. NCSA would also share your data to other college related marketing businesses, so continuous email/spams would clutter your email. Overall - No results from NCSA. I registered my daughter with this service and specifically asked whether I could cancel at any time if we were not satisfied. I was clearly told, "Yes, no problem," with no mention that cancelling would require paying the full amount. When I later tried to cancel due to dissatisfaction with the service, I was told that I must pay the entire fee anyway. This was never disclosed upfront and feels very dishonest and misleading. The service provided does not match what was promised, and when customers are unhappy, they refuse to cancel unless full payment is made. This feels like a scam designed only to take your money. Beware of misleading reviews on Trustpilot and the BBB. This company excels only at locking you into contracts that are nearly impossible to escape. Even after changing your banking information, they somehow continue charging your account. They refuse to cooperate when you try to cancel a contract you've never used. Their service provided absolutely no benefit to my son--none whatsoever. What they're doing feels unethical, if not outright illegal. I'm even considering whether it's worth the added cost of hiring a lawyer. You can't remove payment methods once added, and their system makes it impossible to change your payment date. You're only allowed to choose from the accounts they pressured you into connecting in the first place. Accessing most of your financial information requires a phone call. And when you do call, you're met with resistance, stalling tactics, and pressure to avoid discussing your contract or making any payment adjustments. This company is, in my opinion, entirely predatory. They don't care about helping children--they care only about how much money they can extract from concerned, well-meaning parents. NCSA assign someone who has very little or no knowledge about track running and pump up your potentials while attempting to sell you services that costs thousands of dollars. Due to financial constraints and changing interests in my son's athletic goals I tried to cancel the service after being in for only 2 months. I was shocked to find out that to cancel my service it would cost an additional $1600 which they offered to "help" by reducing it to $800. Why do I need to pay $800 dollars for a service I no longer wish to have? If you have a serious athlete who is motivated to play in college I highly recommend getting an upper tier NCSA account for them as early as possible. We purchased a 2nd from the top MVP package when our daughter was in 8th grade. She will be able to utilize this package until she graduates from college. NCSA recruiters can even help college players who are in a transfer portal get recruited. Her recruiting coach has been extremely helpful by letting us know what to focus on and what her next steps are along the way. Our membership includes weekly live lessons on topics like what the different college levels mean for athletes and how to deal with performance anxiety. You can access these lessons in their website archive as well. Our daughter had a long term sports injury right before high school so her recruiting coach was great helping us navigate her recruiting process during her recovery which helped lower our stress level big time! Her recruiting coach also knows what goals are best for her to focus on and the steps it takes get there. We paid a one time fee that will help carry our daughter thru college. I have learned a lot from the online live lessons because those are run by experts in the topics covered. NCSA also has links for your child to explore what college campus life is like at the schools in their data base. NCSA has an athlete goal and stats template that makes organizing their sport portfolio easy. NCSA is extremely worth it if you purchase a plan that lasts through college and you join early. Take advantage of the monthly recruiter phone meetings and attend live lessons. Your child will also be in the NCSA data base that college recruiters can view and follow your child. SCAM! It's a website that college coaches abhor/ NCSA does not qualify the network of athletes it houses therefore college coaches know they are a fraud. It all starts when you check a box and recruiting coordinator (an appointment setter) calls you to set you up with a recruiting specialist (a salesman) to tell you your kid is a recruit. A recruit? For who? They install fear that your child is missing out asking the same series of questions you were asked on the call b4. Then try to convince you that you need them to fix a problem you never knew ya had. They can't fix that my kid isn't very good a sports bot tried to tell me he needed to reach out to coaches to tell them he was terrible. Please, High pressure leaving your kid bewildered, flustered, uneasy, and hopeless and in a position he many never want to play sports again. they make you feel so small for not receiving contact from college coaches. Their solution is spend $1,300. Company offers 40% off every month (b/c there is absolutely nothing of value), I went through a presentation in Jan. and have gotten emails every month since. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The sales pitch was great and very promising, it was exactly what we were looking for, for our son; individualized, supportive, INVESTED . Sadly we learned quickly that these "recruiters" have an enourmous amount of recruits and that sending a text, scheduling 1- 15 minute zoom call, or sending generic videos via text is their definition of one-to-one. After our first "recruiter" stopped contacting my son, I reached out to NCSA. They were very good at apolozing and promising me better, more experienced help and that this is unexceptable. Assigned a 2nd "recruiter" who again NCSA promised "one of the best". Again, sending generic videos to my son of "next steps", sending text messages to "check-in" was a joke. The recruiter was so not in touch with our son's goals, at all- he even was sending him lists of colleges looking for athletes not even in the region my son had originally expressed interest. We regret taking that call that night, we regret setting up that appointment and commiting to pay over $2,000 for nothing. My son has decided he will not continue to play the sport he has played competitively for over 11 years. LISTEN!! Don't do it!!! Read these reviews prior to making a decision. I was tricked into starting this up for my daughter and something told me to look at the reviews immediately after I hung up the phone. After reading the reviews I realized this was not the best thing to do and it was literally a waste of money. I called the recruiter/salesman right back and told him to cancel my membership and I was completely honest with my reason for wanting to do so. He tried to talk me out of it and I wasn't listening and he gave me the number I had to call in order to cancel the membership. That following day, I called not too long after they opened and I either got someone who was clueless and couldn't help me, or transferred to another number that sent me to an answering machine. This was pissing me off and it proved to me that I was making the right decision because no way would I want to be associated with such an unorganized organization. One guy even blamed not being able to help me was because he was a remote worker...seriously?!? If you can't perform the duties of your job because you're working from home, you either need to go into the office, or be fired! I ended up getting in touch with a real person the following day and he was able to help me by refunding my money and canceling my membership. Make sure you call back 30 times a day if you have to in order to cancel your membership because if you wait until after 3 days, you'll be screwed. read more

I could not attend the phone meeting with my wife and daughter as I am deployed on a FEMA/COVID-19 response to the East coast. Later in the evening, I called home to see how it went. They were appalled at Michael's treatment of them. I need all the critical decision-makers to be present as a timeshare pitch. Michael repeatedly told them how far behind we are in the recruitment process, "I can't believe you haven't started yet!" My wife and daughter were made to feel terrible. Then he says his daughter in seventh grade has already started the process. After this horrible interaction to ask us to pay thousands of dollars to what sounds like a timeshare pitch, no thank you! The organization promises a connection to thousands of college coaches nationwide, the largest database of college coaches in one place (if I recall the sale pitch). What they didn't tell us, was that college coaches do not care if we send them emails through the platform. We went a step further to send out a letter to them, they emailed us back almost immediately thanking us for our interest in their institution, and noting they did not receive an email from us. The NCSA dashboard shows they opened our emails. It's okay, it just isn't worth the amount of money you'll pay. If you are considering the paid package, realize that the "coaching call" is actually a time-share like sales pitch. "Do you really want to play in college? If so, the paid version will get you there." We have a vast network of coaches, AAU, DIII, DII, DI, NAIA, NJCAA, etc and none of them care of we paid for the NCSA premium version or not. The business model makes a lot of sense, but it just doesn't deliver as promised. That's why it receives a 1-star from our household. If I were you, I would take to twitter to make connections, and upload highlight videos to YouTube - those actually get viewed and found, vs NCSA profiles (which do not rank in Google). read more

1. NCSA is a scam. Coach Jenny Goodpastor was not attentive and she told all of her "athletes" that she was covering for another coach who was on maternity leave. I know that if I were on maternity leave, I would not want a colleague disclosing my health and personal information to an extensive list of clients. Regardless, Coach Jenny Goodpastor had close to 200 kids on her case load. 2. We were promised UNLIMITED one on one meetings with Coach Goodpastor as part of our "contract" but she CANCELED ALL OF OUR 8 MEETINGS - Cancelled: August 24th 10 am 5pm August 25th 10 am 5pm August 31st 10 am 5pm September 1 st 10 am 5 pm *I was only able to meet with her one time on August 17th. 3. We just spoke with Steven from NCSASport.org. The meeting started 5 min later that the scheduled time, and its purpose was to get my kids´profile activated. Everything went well, and it seemed as a good platform to showcase. However, when Steven reached the membership plans, he immediately changed his attitude to an aggresive one... we felt obligated to make a decision on the membership plan and punch our credit card information in right away! Amazing how these sales guys can screw up a very nice meeting... even my kid said: I did not like that guy, he was very aggressive trying to get us to make a payment!"... and "Dad, you were amazing at deconstructing his sales strategy" end of the story... Please be aware that A. You only have 3 days to cancel! So make sure you are confident in your choice by then! And B. I spoke with an actual college coach and was informed the emails from this company, going out by your athletes to coaches, are often seen as spam and he never once brought on an athlete that used NCSA in his 20 years. I can't speak for the company itself, but the recruiting call was an extremely pushy experience and when we told him we wanted 24 hours to think it over and to please give us his number to call him the next day, he insisted we waited long enough and not to wait any longer, etc. He wouldn't respect our need to think about it first and ended up dropping the price to get the sale.
