First of all, NCSA is not a scam. I would've given them a 5 star review, but they lost one star because our first coach wasn't very attentive. However, we were assigned a replacement coach, Coach Hugh McAdam, who was excellent. It was like he was custom fit for my son. Both lightweight rowers and Hugh is an award winning rower. He helped us narrow down my son's choices by asking the right questions and he also contacted the coaches himself because he knew some of them from his career in rowing. We had a weekly call for an entire year and he kept my son accountable for the tasks he had to do to get recruited and visible. If you have a kid who needs that, NCSA will help. If you're not liking your experience with a coach, just ask for new one until you get the right fit. I guarantee you'll never get what you don't ask for. My son got a hefty athletic & merit scholarship and signed in February to a school that I know he's going to love. Thanks Coach Hugh McAdam! read more

NCSA College Recruiting - My son leading the race - Colleges & Universities Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

First of all, All the good reviews here are done by NCSA not by real people, I played in the top soccer league and thought it would be easier to sign my son up through them so I wouldn't have to handle all the paperwork myself; however, I want to point out that this company isn't a recruiter--they don't actually do anything. They charge $3,000 for a membership just so people can use the website, while the parents have to do all the work. When I received the first call, it was a man trying to schedule an appointment to talk; he was very insistent and wouldn't let me get a word in, so I agreed just to find out what it was about. The next day, a woman called; she was aggressive and pushed me to take the call. When I told her I was already aware of the schedule, she got angry and hung up on me. When I received the call, the man started speaking; when I asked what it was all about, he told me I had to pay for a membership before he could tell me more. He said my son needed a nutritionist and a psychologist. I am a retired professional soccer player. Usually, when a recruiter speaks to players, they tell them which teams have openings; however, this company doesn't know if a player will actually be signed by a team. When I asked, I was told I had to pay for a membership to contact coaches myself--since the company only provides access to the website--and that no further information would be given until I paid for the membership. I asked if he knew anything about soccer; he claimed he played and had been recruited through this site, playing the same position as my son. When I asked what position that was, he asked me what position your son plays? I told him, and he replied that it was the same one. This person knew nothing about soccer. Then he told me that when my son turns 25, he could go see if he could turn professional; I told him that was too old to try to become a professional--there's a professional soccer team two hours away, and he could go to the Portland Timbers academy. He kept insisting that it was better to go with his company because there were more opportunities. This person wouldn't let me speak; whenever he asked me something, he wouldn't let me answer, and he ignored almost everything I said. This company isn't really what it claims to be. read more

Extremely Disappointed with NCSA - Lack of Actual Recruiting Support From the very beginning, we made it clear that we wanted a real, one-on-one evaluation session and actual guidance through the college recruiting process. We weren't looking for self-help videos, prerecorded presentations, or links to more generic information. We wanted to speak with someone who could evaluate our son's abilities, help us understand his recruiting opportunities, and provide meaningful guidance. Unfortunately, NCSA has failed to deliver on that expectation every step of the way. Instead of personal assistance, we were repeatedly directed to videos, prerecorded sessions, and self-help resources. We received very little in the way of actual support. At this point, we've already created our son's highlight film, researched college football programs, identified coaches, and personally reached out to those coaches. We've done all of this ourselves, with absolutely no meaningful assistance from NCSA. What's particularly frustrating is that it took a negative review for someone from NCSA to finally reach out and offer to help. Where was this level of attention when we were asking for help from the beginning? And even more disappointing, your most recent email once again directs us to another link and another video. That is exactly the problem we've been complaining about. Families come to NCSA because they don't necessarily understand the college recruiting process. They're looking for knowledgeable people who can provide direction, evaluate their student-athletes, and help them navigate a complicated process. Instead, our experience has been a series of generic resources that we could have found ourselves online. From our experience, NCSA has felt like nothing more than a money grab, taking advantage of parents and young athletes who are trying to pursue their dreams of playing college sports. I have been extremely disappointed with NCSA, and I have no hesitation in telling other families about our experience and recommending that they stay away. We didn't need another video. We needed someone who actually cared enough to help us navigate the recruiting process. That is what we expected from NCSA, and that is what we never received. read more

Total scam. Don't waste your money. Paid two years and tried to cancel. Say I still owe them $650. Mind we only talked to a recruiter once a year. Yes they can do your highlight for you, but that's it. Recruiters do nothing for you. So you basically pay to be able to email coaches. 80% of those coaches don't even use the system to check the emails totals waste. read more

Misleading, aggressive sales tactics and they trap you with signing up same day. Their cancellation policy isn't truly a cancellation policy. You may still end up walking away paying $1,000 even if you were only signed up for a week. Cannot wait to file a complaint with the BBB! read more

The recruiting coach was fixated on my daughter only being a D3 player. She didn't help with getting in front of the schools that were important to my daughter. And one of the schools was a D3. And when we asked about moving her up and look towards other schools meet and greets never materialized. Our daughter did the work on her own and met with coaches. NCSA really didn't give us the tools to be successful. read more

Great recruiting service! Very informative and helpful for athletes looking to play in college

Do not give this company your contact information if you are not 100% sure you want to use them. I made the mistake of checking a box while filling out a waiver for my daughter's softball tournament. They have incessantly called, texted, and emailed both my wife and I every single day even after I tried to unsubscribe multiple times. I warned them that I would blast them in the reviews if they kept up their predatory harassing practices, and they still did not stop. They will charge you thousands of dollars to do something that you can do yourself. Make an Instagram account for your athlete put together some clips in a YouTube video, and email college coaches yourself. Do not make the mistake of working with these people. read more

3,000 dollars. For unlimited help. But the student really does all the work. For D 1 start connecting with coaches in 8th grade. You can send them videos of your athlete to their email. Found on colleges web sites. I D camps give exposure, but it's mostly for the college to make money. For D3 same thing, but you can get signed in 11th and 12th grade. Be aware your student athlete will spend a lot of time raising money for their D3 school just to say they are playing in college. read more

Beware of misleading reviews on Trustpilot and the BBB. This company excels only at locking you into contracts that are nearly impossible to escape. Even after changing your banking information, they somehow continue charging your account. They refuse to cooperate when you try to cancel a contract you've never used. Their service provided absolutely no benefit to my son--none whatsoever. What they're doing feels unethical, if not outright illegal. I'm even considering whether it's worth the added cost of hiring a lawyer. You can't remove payment methods once added, and their system makes it impossible to change your payment date. You're only allowed to choose from the accounts they pressured you into connecting in the first place. Accessing most of your financial information requires a phone call. And when you do call, you're met with resistance, stalling tactics, and pressure to avoid discussing your contract or making any payment adjustments. This company is, in my opinion, entirely predatory. They don't care about helping children--they care only about how much money they can extract from concerned, well-meaning parents. Signing up with them was one of the worst financial decisions I've ever made. UPDATE: Attempted to write a review on Trust Pilot, it was immediately flagged and removed... That should tell you a lot about these reviews. read more

I registered my daughter with this service and specifically asked whether I could cancel at any time if we were not satisfied. I was clearly told, "Yes, no problem," with no mention that cancelling would require paying the full amount. When I later tried to cancel due to dissatisfaction with the service, I was told that I must pay the entire fee anyway. This was never disclosed upfront and feels very dishonest and misleading. The service provided does not match what was promised, and when customers are unhappy, they refuse to cancel unless full payment is made. This feels like a scam designed only to take your money. I am extremely disappointed and would not recommend this service to others. read more

These people charge you a lot of money just because they talk to the children on the phone. It's like fraud. They charge you almost 300 dollars per call for 30 minutes. These people steal your money. They called my son from another state and my son lives in California. read more

NCSA is a complete waste of time and money. They are just another typical sales scam, "buy it now to get discounted rate or no discounts later." Out assigned counselor got ill and the "replacement" counselor never bothered to connect even after we tried to email him. NCSA would also share your data to other college related marketing businesses, so continuous email/spams would clutter your email. Overall - No results from NCSA. My son got an offer from a college without any help from NCSA. Save your money and time, and just do the work yourself. Use the money for college tuition instead. read more

I'm very disappointed with NCSA College Recruiting. We were told we could cancel at any time, but what wasn't clearly explained was that we'd still be responsible for paying the full remaining balance. That's a huge detail to leave out. The lack of transparency feels misleading, and families deserve clearer communication before making a financial commitment. I would not recommend this program read more

NCSA is a complete and utter gimmick. Anything they tell you they can do on behalf of your student athlete you as a parent or even the child can do as well for a fraction of the price we have firsthand experience of other student students using NCSA and they've done virtually nothing to get them into a school even at the junior college level furthermore while they text me and email me on occasion, they have continuously contacted my minor 13-year-old daughter with high high-pressure sales tax via phone I find this to be highly inappropriate as she's a minor and they have no right to be reaching out to her directly without my consent stay away from them and tell everybody you know read more

Extremely disappointed in the services. I would suggest to not waste your time or money. You will most likely hear right off the bat that this seems like a high pressed sales pitch. Well, it is. Lots of ads, it's all about the money. They don't care about the athlete or the family. If they did, they would run the business and portal differently and be getting real results, not made-up ones. Also, I am a real person! lol. Just to inform, this is not a real membership, it's more like a lifetime service, even though you won't need it for your entire life. All we experienced was just another platform to spread our information to useless, expensive, sports program opportunities. All we received was junk mail in the portal. Paying this type of money should keep you away from ads. Even some of the random coach emails seemed like a blast ad and definitely not genuine or personal. If you really want these services, do not sign up unless you are ready to pay the full amount up front and you know for certain you will be using this platform for your child's future, because if, for some reason, your life flips upside down and you need to pause the payments, you can't. No help, no working with the athlete or family, just a company full of fake people trying to make a buck. read more

Their service was advertised through www.athletic.net, and if you signed up, someone will call right away and schedule an appointment. NCSA assign someone who has very little or no knowledge about track running and pump up your potentials while attempting to sell you services that costs thousands of dollars. My son is just a freshmen in HS, and they already wanted him to create a professional profile. I don't believe this is necessary and unless you're a rare specimen there is no way a college coach would even bother to look at your stats. if you show no interest after the initial interview, then they will start calling and emailing you with 40% off of what they initial offered, a big red flag from an untrustworthy organization that is currently using .org domain typically reserved for non--profit organization. read more

Due to financial constraints and changing interests in my son's athletic goals I tried to cancel the service after being in for only 2 months. I was shocked to find out that to cancel my service it would cost an additional $1600 which they offered to "help" by reducing it to $800. Why do I need to pay $800 dollars for a service I no longer wish to have? They claim it was part of the "agreement" which was not made clear to us at the time we signed up. not once was it mentioned that we would not be able to cancel without a fee. this lack of transparency and misinformation is unconscionable while preying on the hopes of young athletes. Buyer beware! stay away from these scammers. read more

My daughter and I had the best experience with NCSA. Delainey G. was a great coach and helped provide accountability and real-life advice. My daughter appreciated the comprehensive online platform and we saw immediate results. Their platform is well-built and truly elevated her profile to top coaches at many top programs. I appreciated the feedback the platform provided such as when a coach opened an email or viewed her profile, as well as when a coach advertised roster spots. This was a time saver! If you have a serious athlete who is motivated to play in college I highly recommend getting an upper tier NCSA account for them as early as possible. We purchased a 2nd from the top MVP package when our daughter was in 8th grade. She will be able to utilize this package until she graduates from college. NCSA recruiters can even help college players who are in a transfer portal get recruited. Her recruiting coach has been extremely helpful by letting us know what to focus on and what her next steps are along the way. Our membership includes weekly live lessons on topics like what the different college levels mean for athletes and how to deal with performance anxiety. You can access these lessons in their website archive as well. Our daughter had a long term sports injury right before high school so her recruiting coach was great helping us navigate her recruiting process during her recovery which helped lower our stress level big time! Her recruiting coach also knows what goals are best for her to focus on and the steps it takes get there. We paid a one time fee that will help carry our daughter thru college. I have learned a lot from the online live lessons because those are run by experts in the topics covered. NCSA also has links for your child to explore what college campus life is like at the schools in their data base. NCSA has an athlete goal and stats template that makes organizing their sport portfolio easy. NCSA is extremely worth it if you purchase a plan that lasts through college and you join early. Take advantage of the monthly recruiter phone meetings and attend live lessons. Your child will also be in the NCSA data base that college recruiters can view and follow your child. We have been very happy with the services and recruiting help NCSA has provided so far! read more

To anyone thinking about signing up for NCSA, don't. My daughter and I decided we would join, the sales guy was very persuasive in making us think we were getting a " wonderful and beneficial program" in the time we signed up we were bombarded with so many emails. We tried to make contact with several people and services and never got responses. My daughter set up virtual appointments and was blown off never getting to speak with anyone. I called to cancel because we were so disappointed with there service and program., all I got was someone trying to make me keep the program open. I was on the phone with them for 45min trying to just cancel the membership. So sad that they got all the money from a family and didn't provide what they promised. LISTEN!! Don't do it!!! Read these reviews prior to making a decision. I was tricked into starting this up for my daughter and something told me to look at the reviews immediately after I hung up the phone. After reading the reviews I realized this was not the best thing to do and it was literally a waste of money. I called the recruiter/salesman right back and told him to cancel my membership and I was completely honest with my reason for wanting to do so. He tried to talk me out of it and I wasn't listening and he gave me the number I had to call in order to cancel the membership. That following day, I called not too long after they opened and I either got someone who was clueless and couldn't help me, or transferred to another number that sent me to an answering machine. This was pissing me off and it proved to me that I was making the right decision because no way would I want to be associated with such an unorganized organization. One guy even blamed not being able to help me was because he was a remote worker...seriously?!? If you can't perform the duties of your job because you're working from home, you either need to go into the office, or be fired! I ended up getting in touch with a real person the following day and he was able to help me by refunding my money and canceling my membership. Make sure you call back 30 times a day if you have to in order to cancel your membership because if you wait until after 3 days, you'll be screwed. read more

Hi Cory, I am going to write this email response instead of taking your survey. I could not attend the phone meeting with my wife and daughter as I am deployed on a FEMA/COVID-19 response to the East coast. Later in the evening, I called home to see how it went. They were appalled at Michael's treatment of them. I need all the critical decision-makers to be present as a timeshare pitch. Michael repeatedly told them how far behind we are in the recruitment process, "I can't believe you haven't started yet!" My wife and daughter were made to feel terrible. Then he says his daughter in seventh grade has already started the process. After this horrible interaction to ask us to pay thousands of dollars to what sounds like a timeshare pitch, no thank you! We will be informing all of the player's parents at the volleyball club of our unpleasant interaction with NCSA. Sincerely, Jake read more

SCAM! It's a website that college coaches abhor/ NCSA does not qualify the network of athletes it houses therefore college coaches know they are a fraud. It all starts when you check a box and recruiting coordinator (an appointment setter) calls you to set you up with a recruiting specialist (a salesman) to tell you your kid is a recruit. A recruit? For who? They install fear that your child is missing out asking the same series of questions you were asked on the call b4. Then try to convince you that you need them to fix a problem you never knew ya had. They can't fix that my kid isn't very good a sports bot tried to tell me he needed to reach out to coaches to tell them he was terrible. Please, High pressure leaving your kid bewildered, flustered, uneasy, and hopeless and in a position he many never want to play sports again. they make you feel so small for not receiving contact from college coaches. Their solution is spend $1,300. Company offers 40% off every month (b/c there is absolutely nothing of value), I went through a presentation in Jan. and have gotten emails every month since. Loser company that treats recreational athletes like they are supposed to be being recruiting. Filthy tactics! Run! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! The sales pitch was great and very promising, it was exactly what we were looking for, for our son; individualized, supportive, INVESTED . Sadly we learned quickly that these "recruiters" have an enourmous amount of recruits and that sending a text, scheduling 1- 15 minute zoom call, or sending generic videos via text is their definition of one-to-one. After our first "recruiter" stopped contacting my son, I reached out to NCSA. They were very good at apolozing and promising me better, more experienced help and that this is unexceptable. Assigned a 2nd "recruiter" who again NCSA promised "one of the best". Again, sending generic videos to my son of "next steps", sending text messages to "check-in" was a joke. The recruiter was so not in touch with our son's goals, at all- he even was sending him lists of colleges looking for athletes not even in the region my son had originally expressed interest. We regret taking that call that night, we regret setting up that appointment and commiting to pay over $2,000 for nothing. My son has decided he will not continue to play the sport he has played competitively for over 11 years. Just today, my husband and I got a text from my son's recruiter, "has ^&%& commited to play at the next level." INFRUIATED!!! SHOULDN'T he know that!!!!!! Today, 4/29 I got a text stating that Promo Day pricing has been entered in for you. I re-visited, looking into their packages, and noticed that the prices are the same. I sent Jeff a text back and asked why the prices weren't reflecting their Promo Day pricing they keep texting me about, and the replies back all snarky.
