What a great stadium! First off, parking is only $7. Staff is great. There are several Mets touches ( Mr. and Mrs. Met on the walls and bathroom doors). Beautiful stadium and fantastic scoreboard. Seats are comfortable. There are ample food choices , yummy ice cream helmets, fresh squeezed lemonade, good NY pizza, and a few bars ;) The team store just right of home plate on the field level has a good selection of kids, women's and men's clothing, hats, and other baseball novelty items, including a sales rack. Prices are reasonable, they offer Veteran discounts and they have a fantastic promotion schedule. But the main reason is baseball: the Mets AAA team, these guys hustle every game. Always love coming to this stadium to watch the Mets play during the summer. Really nice seating for all. I normally get the seats behind home plate with table service. Waitresses are so nice and the view is amazing. Jason Smorol always comes to see me to make sure we are having a good time. If you are hungry they have all different types of food . I normally go with hot dogs or the Italian sausage. So good. They have nightly specials to save money. If you like baseball or need a place for a nice company outing then come check them out. NBT Bank Stadium is home to the Syracuse Mets of the MiLB and the Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets. As a casual fan of baseball (LGM!), I always make sure to stop by NBT Bank Stadium to catch a Syracuse Mets game when I'm in Central New York. The tickets and parking are affordable, and there's never much crowding or traffic entering and leaving the game. The stadium has so many great food and drink promotions, and themed game nights along with giveaways. The atmosphere is always awesome and attending a game is a just great time overall. When I found out NBT Bank Stadium was hosting a viewing event for the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse, I couldn't pass up the chance to attend. The viewing event, "Total Eclipse of the Park" was from 2pm-4pm and was followed by the Syracuse Mets vs. Worcester Red Sox game at 5:05pm. There was a "Dollar Monday" promotion for the duration of the event and game ($1 sodas, $2 hot dogs, $3 beers). Syracuse Mets-branded eclipse glasses were provided by the stadium, and fans were let on the field during the 1 minute and 27 seconds of totality. It was absolutely amazing to have experienced the 4/8/2024 eclipse in the path of totality, and NBT Bank Stadium did a fantastic job hosting the "Total Eclipse of the Park" event and the game afterwards. read more

We took our children to the Mets game for the first time. I haven't been since I was a child so a lots has changed. My husband and I loved that they have a faux grass area for the kids to run around in. We all know kids get antsy(especially on a hot night we went on). Went to a Syracuse Mets game here with the whole family and we all had a blast. There are lots of concession areas and places to get some shade on a hot day. There are two "family lawn" areas with turf where you can spend time during the game and kids can crawl or walk around but you can still see what's happening. read more

I need to get here more. Things seem really well-organized, and things like parking and Will Call ticket pick-up are a breeze. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. On such sunny days in Spring especially, how can you not love going to a local minor league baseball game? As a Yankees fan, I especially enjoyed watching the Chiefs play the SWB RailRiders. $12 for a 4th row seat behind home plate? Hard to beat... the addition of a wine slushie and NY-style hot dog (with onions and spicy mustard) didn't hurt either though. :) Will definitely be making it a point to attend more games here in the future. read more

I love minor league baseball with a passion, but I hate coming here. I despise it actually so I rarely do. Every single game the GM takes the microphone at the mound just before game time to talk so he can be the center of attention. He does nothing but go on and on and on about nothing for at least 5 to 10 minutes. No one goes to the game to see and hear him...this dude just doesn't get it. This park is a police state. SERIOUSLY. Bag checks, empty your pockets, an then have a security guard wand you BEFORE you get in...yeah because God forbid someone sneaks in a bag of peanuts. On top of that, ushers are total hawks on checking tickets and even kick out small children that don't have a ticket for sections by the dugout if they run down to sit to get a player to throw them a ball. It's disgusting. This is literally the ONLY minor league stadium that has this type of security and it is a major, major turn off. People want to go to a ballpark to enjoy a game, not feel like they are being stalked by security. Souvenir sodas are 5.75 and refills are 2.75...what a ripoff!!! It's soda in a cup that's mostly ice anyhow. Grounds crew is amazing and have created an incredible field, but it gets lost in the police state atmosphere and ridiculous concession prices. And don't forget you also have to pay 5 bucks to park! read more

As a child, we came to the stadium and literally rocked it by stomping our feet as the Syracuse Chief's played. Today, much nicer, more solid seating, with better food choices and variety of drink selections, and the Syracuse Mets, makes for a much more enjoyable experience. You can buy an upgraded ticket on Mondays "Manga night" and eat at the all-you-can-eat buffet of ball park food in the clubhouse at the end of the stadium, with an in-house bar, outdoor patio, and full windowed view of the park. I understand there is a "Beer park" Friday night upgrade as well, but haven't had the opportunity to experience it, so will leave that for an update later. T-Bow playing drew a lot of interest, but there are many great players on the field, many who descended from the players of my childhood days. Games are always fun and exciting. Be sure to check out the Syracuse store with local wear and accessories. The upgraded Yankee stadium is very nice, and this feels like a smaller league version. read more

The Syracuse Mets advertises a team autograph signing, after work I make the 30 minute drive to NBT Bank stadium, get in line for an hour and 1/2 only for clown Jason Smorol to shut it down after 10 minutes of signing, they advertised it as team signing everyone will sign, upon arrival and buying my ticket we learn they changed it to only a 30 minute signing, no security to stop the girl we watched get in line 6 times to sell the autographs for her dad/older man the 13-14 yr old girl was with. This ballpark is very nostalgic for me. It's laid out very similar to my hometown ballpark in Clearwater, FL. It's just missing a big open field berm in the outfield. I've come to see games here a handful of times and always have a good time. I'm a big baseball fan so it's always nice to see the up and comers and maybe a few guys who are rehabbing. We came tonight for dollar dog night and I was happy that you can get a good quality Hoffman for a dollar rather than a cheapo boiled dog where you need 10 to feel full. I was also happy that we could find coffee because it was a tad chilly on this late summer evening. The only real bummer of the night was one of the employees came walking down our aisle and kicked over my soda. He was very nice about the whole thing and brought a replacement but the incident could have been avoided by installing cup holders in the front rows of the sections. read more

As of this review, Yelp is a little behind with the name of the stadium. At the start of the 2013 season, its name was changed to NBT Bank Stadium (I submitted an update to Yelp, and I hope it is accepted). In the meantime, if you do a check-in here, it would be under the original name. The stadium is fairly new, built in 1997, and it's one of the larger AAA stadiums, accommodating just over 11,000 people. There are no bad seats. It has a nice variety of concessions. No seats are more than $12, and parking is just $5. There are a lot of promotions. The staff here are friendly and helpful. Though there is one gentleman who runs one of the kiosk concessions who has an incredibly loud and penetrating voice which I found distracting. To get the attention of anyone walking past, he constantly yells, "Hey! Hey! Hey!" until he gets someone. It is irksome. I like the idea that their "Chiefs" concept is with trains. There's a freight line right behind the stadium, and most of the trains going by will toot. One of their mascots is Pops, a train engineer. If you are not a Chiefs fan, you will either be distracted or entertained by their most enthusiastic fan, a gentleman who appears to have a regular bleacher seat along the 1st base line. He's not vulgar, just overzealous and loud, with a need to call on EVERY pitch if possible. His behavior probably would not be tolerated at a major league stadium, but here I guess he gets to be a big fish in an AAA "pond." He goes to away games too, I've seen him in Pawtucket. This is definitely and old-fashioned ball park! Although the inside needs to be updated, you can have a pleasurable experience watching the game. It moved too slow for my liking (I know baseball is a slow sport to watch, but this was REALLY slow). It wasn't crowded at all so I didn't have to wait in any line for my chocolate ice cream cone. It was a sunny afternoon. I watched some baseball, chatted with some friends, and left before the 6th inning. Just stayed long enough to get my baseball fix. read more

I love watching games here. The crowd can be a bit quiet at times, but grab a field level seat for the extra $6 instead of the general admission ones and you won't regret the experience (tip: if it's a night game, get tickets the day-of during the afternoon either at the stadium or do will-call and you'll have some awesome seats). Parking is kind of a rip-off ($4) so I'd suggest carpooling. If you don't want to pay that, you can park on-street on some of the side streets off of Hiawatha for free and just walk in. There's also a bus to and from Downtown that's $1 or $2 during home games, I think. The views are pretty nice - especially on a clear evening. The sun sets towards the 3rd base side, so bring a hat if you plan on sitting on the 1st base side. The grounds crew does a superb job and the field is always in really great condition. Thankfully they got rid of the god awful astroturf several years ago. Ballpark gimmicks could probably use some improvement, but I'm more of a baseball purist anyway. Food is a good mix of standard ballpark stuff and local delicacies: funnel cake, pulled pork sandwiches with Dinosaur Bar-B-Que sauce, salt potatoes, dippin dots (!!!), popcorn in a regular sized helmet, hofmann hot dogs and coneys (don't get the pre-packaged ones in foil. They grill them to-order at the grill station near the 3rd base side - it's seriously way better than Heids). The beer selection is actually pretty good. On tap they usually have Molson, Saranac, Labatt, and generic domestics, but there's another stand open between homeplate and 3rd that has about 20+ kinds of bottles like Blue Moon, Saranac, Brooklyn, Guinness, etc... and a few varieties of wine too. Mind you, some of these things aren't available all season. They don't usually bring in the good hot dogs and good beer until it warms up (aka mid May). Just a heads up. Tailgating outside the stadium is fun. You still have to pay though. Also there's no shade whatsoever in the parking lot, so bring something to sit under or lots of sunscreeen. I'm a Chiefs fan so I'm probably biased, but I think it's a great value considering the low variety of things to do here in the city sometimes. I'd give it 5 stars if they had a better scoreboard with working lights and if the location wasn't located in the middle of nowhere. Why they built it here instead of in the abandoned trolly lot behind Armory Square, I'll never know. Still, it's one of my all-time favorite places to spend time with the friends and family on a summer evening in CNY. read more

It's a minor league sport so I don't understand why people in the crowd need to be heckling the players. Pretty good ballpark. First visit to NBT Stadium for a Syracuse Chiefs AAA baseball game and thought it was a good facility. They do a decent job of keeping things clean around the park. The concourse is very good with a view of the field all the way around. Service at snack bars is ok, not great - which I've found typical for most minor league ballparks I've been to. They do have a great craft beer selection at the end of the first base line. Overall a fun night at the ballpark at a decent place. Will be back next season, especially since they are becoming the top NY Mets affiliate! read more

This is a small baseball stadium with plenty of seats, plenty of parking (for $5 or you can park on the streets further out and walk in like I did) and cheap eats. Mondays hot dogs are 25 cents. Thursdays hot dogs are $1 and beers (any kind) is $2 for a small plastic cup-full. Fridays they have fireworks and Tuesdays they have tacos. They host lots of interesting events at this location as well. August 30th is the 2nd Barks for the Park (or something?) where you can bring your dog in for $5 and have them parade around the baseball field along with the baseball player's dogs. Because the stadium is smaller, all of the seats are very close to the field and it's very possible that you catch a ball. The small stadium isn't safe for folks like me who space out and ignore the game 50% of the time. Keep your eyes peeled for flying baseballs. Our tickets were $11. read more

Over the Memorial Day weekend I felt like catching a ballgame. Luckily, the Chiefs were in town. On the night I went, they were playing another AAA club, the Charlotte Knights. The weather held up and it was perfect for baseball. I tried my first ever "frito pie" (a bag of fritos crunched up, with a large helping of chili and some cheese sauce on top). Never heard of it, so of course I had to taste. The Chiefs make a serious effort to make the experience kid friendly. There is a family area with a bouncy house and other games. And they have a program for free hot dogs and ice cream for the kids. Having 2 children in our party, this helped out in a big way. Great time for them. Five tickets were $60, sitting 5 rows back from the field, not too shabby! read more

I will call this, redemption Sunday. We had such a bad experience on opening day that we had to give the Chiefs a second chance. They call it family Sunday's. After the game, the kids get to run the bases. If you bring your gloves and a ball, you can play catch in the outfield. Everyone also had the chance to meet all of the players for autographs. The experience was a complete 180 for me at least. I came home and bought tickets for the remaining Sunday afternoon games and for all the Pawtucket games. NBT Stadium is a good place to watch baseball. It is inexpensive and most seats have a very good view of the game. Concessions are not too expensive and the food is good. 2014 season has fireworks on Fridays as well as a number of other incentives to get you to the park. Plus, the Chiefs have been in 1st place for most of this season. Parking is generally not a problem unless it is a special event such as the July 4th game. Then the problem is not really with NBT or the Chiefs, but the general stupidity of people who have little to no patience. read more

My only knocks are the location of the stadium (it's in the big plot of land off the beaten path next to an Amtrak station) and $5 was pretty steep to park. I am puzzled why the Chiefs have attendance woes. Tickets are not expensive. The promotions are interesting and fun. Thursday is $1 day. $1 for a hot dog or coke. $2 beer. Fireworks on Friday nights. Early start times for night games now. Why are college students not flocking to games on Thursday? Parking is easy. The only down side is the team has been bad for a while. As of today though the Chiefs have a .500 record. The GM is doing a great job. I attended a game already and plan to make a visit regularly. read more
