AMS caters to "small" and mid-sized companies who are seeking advise and help in improving their…read moreoperations through their consulting business. We hired them several years ago when our business was experiencing more business but not making more money and we knew something was wrong and we felt too close to the operation (40+ years in business) to be objective about our own judgments and procedures. AMS came in and did a survey of the company and showed us many areas where we could improve our long-established processes. We got our key supervisors and manager and ownership together to discuss our thinking about AMS coming in - if we were not going to grow, and be more profitable it was going to be hard to give the raises and bonuses that they want for their families. For this to happen we needed we needed to agree that the changes that AMS recommended would have to be implemented even though we all dislike (and maybe disagree) with their approach. We agreed. We picked a key management person to work with AMS consultants and follow-up to see that their recommendations were put into action every week. After a few months we began to see measurable results. We established new procedures where needed and stuck to them. The bottom line results were shockingly good and we paid for the cost of the AMS services, that were quite substantial for a family business, within a year. They have come back months after completion to check (as part of the agreement) that we were staying on course. They set-up weekly statistical reporting controls on all aspects of the business from accounting and production and this allowed us to see situations developing before they be came problems and we were able to discuss these weekly and take action (why happening, plan to improve/correct immediately, and monitor progress). At one time our business sales dropped by as much as 38% from the peak year they started, but every year since they left would have been the most profitable year in our history - prior to making their recommended changes. Thank you AMS for your outstanding guidance and help in what was a minor restructuring of our operation, but a huge change in the health of our company. I also applaud our staff for having faith in us and AMS in sticking with the plan - which is now our standard operating procedures. Money well spent. BTW, our employees are happier with bigger raises and measurable reasons for increased year-end bonuses. Everyone has been a winner.
