This has been my favorite place to train so far! I joined the NBD 40 challenge and had the most amazing support team that guided me and pushed me ... needless to say, I'm so happy I won the challenge and learned what I am capable of... Victoria was such a great help with my nutrition. She listened carefully to my journey as a former bodybuilder, catered to my needs to create a new relationship with food and offered genuine service (even in between sessions) because she cared about my progress. Laura gave me the push I needed to get started. She watched me carefully to ensure proper form and challenged me to go past my perceived limits. I felt so supported. Antonio!!! This trainer had me so motivated that I didn't think twice about being there at 6 am on Monday mornings. The small group training sessions were fun, challenging and informative. I worked with NBD for over 3 months. I paid for personal training and loved that trainer (Thomas). It was pricey but I thought worth it going once per week. I was offered a Bday special which I signed up for and assumed it was another monthly payment. It wasn't! I paid for on top of it and they overly charged me. OK...I can deal with that but then I cancelled my membership. I had 6 sessions remaining and they won't honor those sessions or refund my money which is over $450! I am telling you this so you are not duped like I was. Worse of it...I paid for personal training and the trainer is losing out as much as I am! I will NEVER use them and will make sure that everyone knows to be aware of this organization!! read more

What I don't like is how judging other trainer is about clients wardrobe choices and he keeps texting my trainer harassing him implying that I take classes with him bc I'm somehow interested in him. I was very enthusiastic about this place from the onset. NBD offers classes mixed with personal training. A very small group of trainers run all classes and personal training sessions. A basic membership covers a limited selection of classes. The better and smaller sized classes require that you purchase personal training sessions. A package with 4 of these sessions will run you north of $200, certainly not cheap... And a hidden 40$ "gym enhancement fee" (buried 3 pages deep on the electronically signed contract) hits your credit card like a time bomb after 90 days!! WTF is that? Classes run 25 minutes.. For those who need a full hour will have to take 2 classes with two different trainers.... Here is the rub... Only a select few trainers are really any good at class style format. They may be great people... But it takes certain strengths to be able to lead a group workout effectively. IMHO it seemed that after a full day of running sessions, trainers' interest ranged from disengaged to uninterested... I found two great trainers who were truly up to the task, but again.. After taking one 25 minute class, finding back to back classes that were worthwhile was not possible on any kind of consistent basis. Other members had mentioned that there was a recent "mass exodus" of a few very good trainers, and membership declined as a result. I could not find sufficient cardio classes for my needs, the regimen is strength oriented. I found that even cross fit offered a better balanced workout. They used to have a spin studio, which they shuttered leaving a large portion of the facility un-utilized as a gloomy "spin memorial" area. Often classes will play music on a portable stereo while competing music simultaneously plays on the general studio speakers.. Creating a very strange and disorienting atmosphere. Parking is a serious challenge and the $ lot around the corner is the only reliable option. But the place is clean and offers showers and towels at no additional fee. All in all NBD feels like it has much potential bit not given the attention it needs to be what it is capable of. They have a good mission statement, and a great facility. Unfortunately the reality falls short of management's sales pitch. Sadly... My last two months of my contract remained wasted and unused as I attended another gym.. read more

This is probably the 10th or 12th gym I've belonged to, over the decades, and to be honest, I'm still trying to figure it out. If you take a class, you're set for your workout, although truth be told, not every personal trainer is cut out for leading a fitness class. Mostly they bark orders like drill sergeants, and the workout is good, but don't expect to hear any "you can do this" sort of rap out of them... just one direction into the next. Not that it's bad, just that it's VERY different than any other group fitness classes I've ever taken. Just gotta look within for the motivation 'cause it's not gonna come from the instructor-trainers. Also, this gym is pricey. If you buy a basic membership, which is all I can afford, that gives you one group fitness class a week.... one. Other than that, you either have to buy class packages or personal training sessions, a la carte. You are free to work out on your own, but few people do, and it's not easy to figure out what to do, because the gym is equipped with stuff other than you'd see in a regular gym. Before, I was very comfortable working my 3-day push, pull and leg workouts, and at NBD,I wouldn't know where to start. If I were to work out alone, I feel like I'd stand out. The spinning room is excellent as are the classes. I tried to book a pilates reformer class, but I guess they're short an instructor, so that was canceled. The periodic evaluations are helpful and definitely keep you on track. Locker rooms are kept clean (how about a box of tissues on the counter? I'm constantly going for TP to blow my nose). Shower and workout towels are provided. Glad they have a few ergs - rowing is a great workout, and I do feel comfortable dropping in, solely to use those. I guess I find myself still in an adjustment phase with this place.... not counting it out, when it's time to renew, just still unsure at this time. read more

I've been coming to NBD Training Zone in Morristown since it opened in January and I'm still addicted. I'm close to a 50 pound weight loss is just 8 months. The trainers are amazing!! Each of them brings their own unique style and specialty, but they also take the time to listen to your goals and adapt their training methods along the way to get you the best results possible. I mostly do individual personal training sessions, Pilates, and Spin but the 30 min classes are great too. It's almost impossible not to see results. If you're looking for one-on-one motivation, support, and a general butt kicking, this is the place for you. There's always something that will challenge you. Their online website for booking sessions, logging food entries, tracking your progress, and general health information is also great and super easy to use. I recommend this facility for anyone who's serious about their health and fitness!! read more

Be assured you will be stiffed. The 2 trainers I trained with- Alex, Kevin were very good but that's about it- everything else was a horrific experience. The sales manager Randy will make sure your credit card keeps getting charged forever. The place is quite basic and very hard to get any issues fixed. They do NOT respond to your questions and will charge you for a class even if you cancel in advance: more than 24 hours. And you can't fight it because a man by the name of Randy is the gatekeeper. The owners are generally MIA. The Bookings software malfunctions and I guarantee if you audit it, you will realize how many classes you have been overcharged for. Parking sucks and there is NO cleaning crew. I finally got fed up, gave up on the 20 or so remaining sessions and submitted 3 attempts to cancel but when it comes to processing cancellations they ignore them. But be assured you will keep getting charged. Most people get fed up and end up paying or just leaving because it's not worth their time to fight it. I should have listened to 2 other members who had warned me about the same exact things. --Don't think it's the only choice you have in Morristown-there's a gym at the Hyatt, a great Guerrilla fitness (have heard) and many other boutique gyms-- Good luck! read more

WOW!! This place had everything I needed to get such a great workout in. Battle ropes, sled pushers, sand bags, TRX, Pilates on the reformer, etc. The staff was so accommodating and nice and the 30 min HIIT workout we did was tough but exactly what's friend and I needed to target the whole body. Be very careful, their customer service is awful. We cancelled our contracts and we had multiple e-mail confirmations and phone calls confirming this from their managing directors. However, the accounts were never cancelled in their system and they sent us to collections. Plain incompetent. read more

Best gym I've ever belonged too! The trainers are all SO knowledgeable, and can make any kind of accommodations you might need related to injuries, etc. the classes are challenging no matter your fitness level. The membership is expensive but totally worth the price! How many gyms have you belonged too but never really went!? Not at NBD. Between the individualized fitness plans, the community feel and the dedication of the staff - you will feel motivated throughout your fitness journey. For many years I have jumped around from gym to gym - tried classes and personal training but never really was able to stick with a program that fit my lifestyle and continued to motivate me until I started doing SPT classes with Antonio. The work outs Antonio creates are challenging to say the least- but he's supportive and pushes us to be our best self. Even when I'm not in a SPT class Antonio helps me stay motivated and holds me accountable for the goals I set for myself. He goes above and beyond what is required for him as a personal trainer. He is always there when I have a healthy eating question or need to change up my work out a bit to stay motivated. In the past two months I am down 18 lbs, and down almost 5% in body fat. I am so glad I decided to join NBD a year ago, and look forward to continuing my health journey with Antonio and the NBD team. read more

Joined a few months ago, and I've not lost interest yet- which is a first for me! John has a 1 hour spin class a few times a week that is the best spin class I've been to. The Pilates classes are great too- the equipment and room are excellent. Recently the morning instructor, Nicole stopped working there and I'm super bummed because she was very knowledgable and helpful- but I'm keeping an open mind about who they will bring in to replace her. Alex, Brendan and Jason have all proven to be motivating trainers and the online scheduler is super easy to use on my iPhone. The rest of the gym is open concept. Not very many machines and the gym is not set up like a typical gym. I've never gone and worked out alone, there is always a class and trainer there to keep you motivated and 90% of the work outs are 30 minutes. And the locker rooms are always spotless! The place is a little pricey and I wish I would have paid attention to the specials before I signed up for a contract at the higher rate. But because they are a little more expensive the crowd is mostly working professionals in their 30s-50s and the trainers are mature and know what they are doing. You completely get what you pay for. My only issue is that there are no stairs to get to the gym and you have to take an elevator. Also, you either have to pay to park in the parking garage, or find street parking on the Morristown Green. It's usually not an issue but some days it's an extra few minutes to park. If you want to try out the gym, just stop by and ask. The staff is super friendly and they don't pressure you into signing up. read more

I have been a member for a year, I joined mainly for the large group sessions. They offer many sessions at various times. There is a good variety of sessions and they change the program often enough to avoid boredom. The sessions are enjoyable and they have helped me in reaching my goals. All of the trainers are experienced and knowledgeable. NBD also offers small group training sessions, personal training sessions and Pilates (these cost extra). The small group sessions are good, and is something I have not seen offered elsewhere. NBD also perform regular fitness assessments. Again this is something I have not seen other places offer. I believe this is a good tool for setting goals and ensuring the continued progress towards your goals. They use a really good booking system. The facilities and staff are both good. It may be a bit pricey compared to other gyms, but I believe it is worth paying for a good service. read more

I will say that the work out facility is up to date and a state of the art location. Parking is tough. My trainer Alex was great, no complaints what so ever. When I had to cancel my membership, they charged me a cancellation fee where I could have went to Turks and Caicos and stayed at a Four Seasons Hotel. Once I cancelled my membership, I kept on receiving soliciting emails from NBD and told them that I moved and I am no longer a resident of the state of New Jersey. I told their Membership Director that I wanted to be opt out of their email list/ news letter, she agreed. About two weeks ago, I received another soliciting email from NBD and I was enraged! This is a typical, money hungry fitness center that treats you like a transaction and not a gym member. I highly discourage people not to join this fitness center. read more

I definitely loved the workouts. They were unique and were able to be modified if needed. I was mainly with Rebecca, Emma, and Antonio majority of the time. They really help me get the most out of my workout and was very patient when I was late for the workout. They kicked butt for the 30 minutes (It's a good kick butt, the one you need if you want to get most out of your work out!!). The only minor thing, I wish I new I can start my classes whenever when I signed up for the starter package. I thought I had to stick to one thing first but it turns out I was able to do the classes whenever. Also, the price was quoted differently when I first signed up than when I was ending my trial run. When I was signing up they told me the lowest that they can offer and I was considering in joining midway because I would be able to do that price. However, I was quoted 30 dollars higher than when I first started. For some, it might not be a big difference, but due to my situation, it was a lot. Hopefully, later in life, I'll be able to return because I truly loved everything. One big bonus that I loved was their connection with the Physical Therapy service within the building. Parking is hard to find. I worked around the area so it was easy for me to find parking since I went straight to work right after. However, if you didn't know the area that well it can be tricky. If it wasn't for the price issue, I would have joined. read more

I signed up as a member before this place even had a facility....and they didn't disappoint. The group training classes are the perfect motivation to get a good workout regardless of ability, experience, or exercise preference. Alex's Strike Zone class is hands down the hardest workout class I will ever do in my life. No two classes are ever taught exactly the same way, so your body's muscles don't ever get used to just one routine. Being a middle aged couch potato I finally decided to begin working out. Lot and lots of options in the Morristown area. With a co-workers recommendation I joined NBD under one of their trial programs. I can't be more pleased with the experience. My personal trainer Kevin was awesome as the rest of the instructors and staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. In addition to personal training I also utilized their large group classes ( which are not really large usually under 8 people) . The classes were great and offered a lot of options. The facility is very clean and including the locker room and the showers. After my trial membership ended I decided to continue my membership. I haven't attended this location and will have to check if they offer all the training and classes as the main location. I didn't think so. My husband and I were members of this gym for over a year before we sadly had to end our membership bc we moved across the country. We miss it every day. The trainers are dedicated and knowledgeable. The VERY BEST class we would take 2-3x/week is called "Strikezone." I've been an athlete my entire life and I thought I was gonna die the first time I took this class -- my heart was beating out of my chest (in the best way possible). This class will whip you into shape and make you strong. Alex is the trainer for that class and he really put together a winner. The class in 1 hour. You spend 30 mins doing cardio-like exercises with a ladder on the ground, tons of pushups, tons of 10/10/10s (I'll let you find out what those are) and then the other 30 mins is spent on the bag. There are so many options for 30 and 60 mins classes and we loved them all. Classes were fairly small so the trainers always knew our name and it felt personal. It's not the cheapest gym but it was the most effective gym I've ever been to and definitely feel like the cost was worth it. I have been a member here for about 2 years. What I like about the gym is it holds you accountable and each class feels like group personal training. I like the class aspect because it is interactive so you get to know other members and there are a variety of different levels from beginners to advanced. The gym isn't "clicky" which I found the case at some group based gyms (crossfit). The trainers are some of the most passionate and knowledgeable I have trained with. The personal evaluations are very helpful to see a tangible results. It isn't your typical fitness factory and may be a little more expensive but you get what you pay for. read more

I joined NBD mid January and I absolutely love it! I wanted something other than the regular weight lifting routine I had been in to really tone my body, and this is it! I already feel like I'm seeing a difference. The trainers are awesome and really push you, which motivates me to give my all. About 7 months ago i was looking for a new gym to get back into shape and making working out more of a routine and part of my lifestyle. Living in Morristown i wanted something local so it would be easy to get to since i have a hectic schedule. After checking out NBD i was sold. They offer tons of group classes that provide great workouts that motivates you and pushes you achieve great results. The way the class schedule works and how you sign up for them is great because it makes you accountable to use your credits and go to the classes. The personal training team is great and they truely work close with you to meat your goals. The entire NBD team really do care about your health and goals an work with you to achieve them. You get fitness assessments throughout the year so you can see results, where you improved and where you still need work on. A couple months into my membership i got my boyfirend to join and he couldn't be happier. He suffered a back injury and was nervous working out elsewhere where he could get injured again. The NBD training team knows injures and provides workouts that will not injure yourself,making you feel more comfortable. Thanks to my amazing trainer Antonio and the rest of the NBD team, with 3 classes i take a week, some personal training, and nutrition regiment that i learned being there, i am down about 30lbs, lost 10% body fat and, 8inches off the waist and still counting. I have more energy, look great, stronger then ever, and love working out and pushing myself every week. Working out at this gym really gets you addicted to the programs because it works and you feel and see results. Not to mention you have fun doing it. I would recommend this gym to everyone. This place's scummy behavior knows no bounds. I joined NBD in good faith believing I was entering a business partnership with them for an American Cancer Society fundraiser. I was promised by Darren that my organization and the center were going to work together, and was given the impression that this would work out - as long as I joined. When I signed the contract, he explicitly told me to not worry about reading the back - you know, where all of the hidden cancellation fees are. I felt good about my decision to join until I was called into his office and informed that the center had decided not to work with my organization after all - the day they were due to give me the sponsorship check for our fundraiser. So essentially, they promised me the moon to get my money. Once they had it, they made it clear that was what they wanted all along. Admittedly, I was probably pretty naive for doing this in good faith, but the point is that if this place would screw over an ACS fundraiser, they clearly don't care about doing it to the general public just for a quick cash grab. Stay away (and find a gym with its own parking lot and where membership isn't $80/month MINIMUM). read more
