If girls have Forever 21 and H&M as our go-to shopping destination, then the NBA Store is the counterpart for boys.
The recently opened store, which is the biggest outside of USA, can be found at Glorietta 3 (former location of Tower Records). This store is made for the real NBA fans who are looking to cop the latest authentic apparel and merchandise of their favorite NBA player and team. They've got everything a basketball fanatic would ever need, really. We actually shopped a few items here last Christmas for some of closest guy friends. I think it was the easiest shopping I've ever done!
Their collection ranges from small items such as towels, tumblers, wristbands, headbands and socks to big items like shirts, toys, jerseys and shoes. All these are branded by the NBA teams so if you have a friend who is a big Clippers fan, then you can find something here for him (or her)!
As soon as you enter the store, you'll have that feeling where you just want to buy everything you see even if you're not a big basketball fan. To be honest, I've only gotten to know more about the sport because Pau is such a huge basketball fan. So I kind of know some of the players and the teams. I've even learned to cheer for KD, and I almost bought one of the shirts with his face on it.
One cool thing about the NBA Store is that you can create and customize your own NBA jersey. You can pick which team to use (currently they have 4 NBA teams available) and put your own name and number on the jersey. Its like knowing what a real NBA player feels like once you wear your own jersey. These are pretty expensive though. I've heard a customized jersey gone for 14,000 pesos. INSANE! And boys say girls are the big spenders?! Sheesh!
For those who are also into sneakers, NBA Store also has Nike, Adidas and Under Armour shoes for sale. I didn't happen to see women's sneaks when I visited but if you're lucky, you can also find sneakers that are for exclusive release at the NBA store.
Aside from the items that are on sale, NBA Store also provides a unique experience every NBA fan craves for by having interactive displays within the store such as comparing your hand and feet size with your favorite basketball superstars. It's such a novel idea to go to the NBA Store and take photos of the place and just have fun! read more
