Had a pretty good salami sandwich from here my first day in Brussels. The bread was great and so was the salami. Not much else to say really. read more

We did call when they were "open", however, no one answered so we walked there anyways. We were greeted by the manager/owner who was not so friendly. We ate and we paid, but throughout our stay they were very inattentive, seemed put off by our being there and just seemed very rude with most interactions. I must say, I did not care at all for the manager/owner, will not be visiting this establishment again, and would advise those who are foreigners not to patron this establishment unless they don't care about who they give their money to and don't mind mediocre food. I feel this establishment is a poor representative of the French/Belgium people.

That being said, the food is very good here. The flavor in the duck I had was unique - it tasted like it was marinated in some type of sauce for a while before it was cooked. I really recommend the "croquettes de crevettes" (shrimp croquettes) as a starter. In English " to die for", in French "une tuerie". Though, beware, the portion is VERY generous; especially for a jet-lagged stomach. For the main dish, in Summer I would recommend the "Tartare de boeuf" (I am a meat aficionado) which is basically raw minced beef that you "prepare" yourself with egg yolk and spices. In winter their "Stoemp" is my favourite (sausages + mashed potatoes cum mashed vegetables). You shall come out of this place filled and wishing your stomach was not still in the middle of the Atlantic. I skipped desert as a result, hence I cannot offer any suggestions. Vegetarian dishes are also on the menu BTW.

The pad thai was too sweet and over powered the dish. Pad thai is suppose to be sweet, salty and sour. It's missing the two other flavors. Ambience wise: it's nice. You dine in a intimate backyard area. Service wise: We asked to order smaller portions but the waitress attempted to push us to order more. After we had left overs we asked to have the food boxed up. They felt it was best to throw out our fried rice which was only half eaten and box the other one. Price wise: For the area I guess they have the right to charge more since there are less thai food locations around but the quality doesn't compare. Overall: I wouldn't come here again. My recent visit to Thailand tells me this food isn't authentic and the service could have been alot better. No thanks..

There were 4-6 people in front of us. It took us about an hour waiting. I hate to keep harping on the wait time but setting expectations is key. You don't pay until you've at least tasted it - even if you opt'd for take out. "If you don't like it, I'll eat it" the owner will tell you. You might opt for fruit or veggies on top. I'm not exaggerating when I say heavenly! The juice mocktail was one of the best I've tasted thus far and don't let me start on the Lamb mafe: first time and it was my best choice. The lamb melted in my mouth, this together with a well balanced peanut sauce. Yes! African food in a cozy, quality, intimate & rich setting: the perfect combination!
