I was referred to Linda in May 2012, after being turned down by a number of Med/Mal attorneys, due…read moreto the MICRA law. She seemed very receptive at the time, if not a bit scattered. She had me send all the records to her and then told me she wanted to submit them to a service called RecordReform, who in turn sends them out to India, where "experts" look them over and compile them into a timeline and report. She told me it would be around $300 and to send her a check. I was leary of this, as everyone had been telling me to never pay a contingency lawyer up front for anything. But I was desperate to find an attorney, so I sent her the check. I uploaded the records to the RecordReform website, and later emailed them a copy of the autopsy report. When I noticed she hadn't even cashed my check in a month, I ended up contacting Elliot Stone of RR several times to inquire about Linda paying him, and he kept telling me he'd look into it, but would never get back to me. I was starting to get very nervous. Finally after waiting three months (while my 1 year period to file was ticking away), I wrote to Linda to see what was going on and to see if she had received the report. She finally wrote back to me and said she had received the report several weeks back but had been on vacation. WHAT?! I've been waiting all this time to hear something, not wanting to proceed looking for other attorneys, and she's on vacation, and my report is sitting there in her office?! So she sent me the report and it is a total joke! Not only did they leave all the important parts out, including 2 of the drugs that led to my sister's death, they got the "timeline" out of order! I was furious. She said she would not be taking my case because the report didn't show that the hospital was at all negligent, or that my sister "fell between the cracks." I wrote her back (and cc'd Elliot Stone) and told her exactly what was wrong with the report. Since then I've heard nothing back from Linda and Elliot Stone has written me twice with lame excuses that he didn't get one of the files because of his "firewall." Baloney. How unprofessional can these people get? First she makes me wait 3 months to hear back from her, while my filing time is expiring, and then tells me she's had the report for weeks but didn't get it to me because she was on vacation?! It is unconscionable that anyone could be that careless and uncaring.

I do not recommend this firm…read more I'm sure they'll respond the way they always do to negative reviews by claiming they can't find any record associated with my name. That's intentional. I don't want to identify myself while my case is still unresolved and risk having my case sabotaged before I have the chance to find another attorney after they've dragged me along for nearly two years. I genuinely feel bad for the staff because my case manager was always responsive. It seemed like she was the only one making an effort because the attorney who was supposedly assigned to my case never communicated with me--not once. And that's considering I had two "case managers" during the duration of my case. After nearly two years, I never had a single conversation with the attorney who was supposedly representing me. I did everything they asked of me. I attended therapy, provided witnesses, gathered evidence, and followed every instruction they gave me. Despite all of that, they never filed my case. Now, after almost two years, they've decided to drop my case, saying it "isn't feasible to pursue." If that was truly the case, why did they accept it in the first place? Why continue representing me for nearly two years if you never intended to take it to court? If my case was so weak that it wasn't worth pursuing, you should have been honest from the beginning instead of wasting valuable time that I can never get back. To make matters worse, after keeping me in limbo all this time, they tell me I now have only a limited amount of time left to find another attorney and pursue my claim. Their delay has put me in a far more difficult position than I would have been in had they simply declined my case from the start. Based on my experience, this firm appears to be more interested in cases that lead to quick settlements than in genuinely advocating for their clients. If that's not the case, then their lack of commitment is deeply concerning. Either way, my experience has been extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend this firm.
