The first thing that you will notice when you walk in the door is that they have a huge length of artificial turf running down the left side of the space. The owner, Steve, tells me that at 50 yards it is the longest of any gym in Montreal. The turf provides space for exercises that you could normally only do outdoors, such as 40 yard sprints, pushing sleds and bounding. On the right-hand side of the space they have an enormous scaffolding where you can let your inner "Ninja Warrior" loose on the rings, monkey bars and salmon ladder. The gym also has a peg board, Olympic lifting and a full complement of free weights and exercise machines. Additionally there is a spin room setup with CompuTrainers that are designed for performance cycling training. I've been there to workout a few times since they opened and I confidently say that the quality of the equipment and staff at Olympia is unmatched by any other gym that I've seen in the city.

I wondered if a "gentle" class wouldn't be enough of a workout but this aerobics class keeps you moving, and if you need a higher intensity workout at any point, you can increase your speed. There was also a weight component at the end, which was a nice way to finish off the class. In addition to cardio, there are plenty of yoga classes offered. I like to combine a yoga class with a fitness/aerobic/circuit training class to have some variety. The staff is friendly and accommodating. A great "Y"!

Terrible experience. This gym continued to charge credit card for months after expiry of 12 month…read moremembership. When questioned, they said "an expired membership does not mean it's cancelled." Membership contract had an end date, but they continued billing. Tried to explain and showed them the Office de la protection du consommateur laws (Articles 124 and 200) which clearly indicate that it is illegal to renew a contract without members express consent at the expiry or to continue billing. They said it didn't matter and that this is how they operate. Illegal practice, terrible customer service. The barely 20 year old staff members were rude and condescending and are clearly unable to read and understand their own contracts. Beware.

Bottom Line: A Spectacular Athletic Facility Run with Bureaucratic Indifference and Incompetence…read more This is an unbelievable town facility in the city of Pointe-Claire. Unfortunately, the people who run it seem to be incompetent, or at least indifferent. The Centre was named after a former, an apparently beloved, city mayor, Olive Urquhart. I'm afraid if Ms. Urquhart could see how a facility named after her is being run, she would be spinning in her grave. Case in point: During the holidays, I could find no listing of the holiday hours on the website. When I pointed this out the the receptionist, she insisted that the hours were on the website, but failed to find them herself. Her next response was, "Well, the hours are on door." Having the hours on the door is of no use to people at home home who want to plan a workout during their day. For the record, the centre is closed from 3 August 2026 to 16 August (2026) inclusive due to the "Construction Holiday," a weird Quebec vestige dating back to the middle ages. Checking in to the facility also seems to be a tedious bureaucratic process. I have had several occasions , where the line was three people deep and it took ten minutes to get through the queue. From the laborious nature of the process, you would think people where applying for refugee status. The facility could be a great experience if they would just clean up their act.

You hang your outerwear by the door and take off your footwear. You can choose to be barefoot or wear socks. As a first timer, I was introduced to proper form, positions, and movement. The last thing anyone wants is an injury. I felt accommodated and thoroughly enjoyed my workout. You start off with stretching and stability to get warmed up and then you move on to specific exercises and sequences. Many had their own programs and designated weight expectations. It's not a large space but it allows for more personalized instruction. The instructors move around to check in on each individual. What I did notice and appreciate was the range of clientele. They welcome all ages and body types, and it felt inclusive. A nice community of like-minded people looking to gain muscle, improve strength, and increase mobility. In one class I could touch my toes and the floor! I can't even do that with multiple yoga sessions on a weekly basis! Thanks for the introduction and positivity! I'd love to come back in the future!

I found him to be incredibly knowledgeable as well as being patient while helping me work through my many form mistakes and questions. Although we were in a remote setting, he always seemed to know when to check in, to give me a nudge, and to take the time to dial into any issues I was having. I've been able to not only lose 15 lbs but to gain more confidence in working with heavier weights and routines I would have never thought of.
