This store has regular glasses, but the greater selection seems to be of sunglasses. They were quite reasonable prices for Rome considering the variety, the style and the quality. The styles were the same as offered by high-fashion designers but at a fraction of the price. They had current season options, but vintage looks as well. Lots of €39 models; the most expensive that I saw were €89.
The clerk tried to upsell cases to us. Perhaps there was a language barrier, but I understood him to say that the price would be less than marked because we were buying sunglasses at the same time. After we picked out two cases, he said that the prices were as marked. If it was a misunderstanding then a small discount would have been a goodwill gesture considering that we bought two pairs. He did include lens cleaning cloths.
The sunglasses had no UV ratings on them, which would have been helpful. The clerk gave me a pamphlet about them, but of course there is no way to determine whether sunglasses have any UV protection. The pamphlet indicates that the code on the temple of the sunglasses identifies its sun filter category. That information is not helpful in determining the efficacy of the UV protection. read more
