We were in town for a little weekend away and were looking to grab some brunch with our kids before doing some shopping. We popped in and were so glad we did. Healthy options, homemade, and yummy. We ordered so many things from a smoothie to chai, waffles, breakfast wraps, and a couple other items. Wait staff is very friendly and helpful when ordering. They are also a little market store and carry fresh foods/produce as well as packaged products. Lots of local items too. At the Van Aken Market is this cool store and cafe. It has organic groceries as well as a counter to order from. Nature's Oasis is my favorite place in this market. Grab a quick coffee and meal and look around. There's also many natural produce, supplements, and vitamins. Eating here is good at breakfast. It has some of the healthiest breakfast items you can get. They have a vegan breakfast sandwich. It's about $8 for a pretty big one. This comes with vegan cheese and sausage. It comes on a choice of bread. They have bagels or you can get it on toast. Along with the made to order stuff is a large amount of groceries. Produce is the best section. Everything looks fresh. The prices are very reasonable, especially for a hip market like this. A lot of local products are here. There's also a section of local beer and wine. In the back is a large section of supplements and other health items. These have pretty good prices. I like coming here for the hot food. It's also nice looking around and finding some healthy groceries. The price for most things is good, and they have the best selection of any of the natural and organic stores. read more

Came here for a quick lunch. I was impressed by the amount of vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options they offered. They have a few meat menu items as well. I ordered the veggie salad with balsamic dressing. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and the dressing was delicious. Their roasted carrots were my favorite part of the salad. I chose to "make it a meal", which comes with your choice in side and a soft drink. I got the vegan power slaw, which was light and tangy. For the drink, I chose to get ginger mint iced tea. It was not included in the list of drinks that came with the meal, but 50 cents was deducted from the price. The tea was refreshing and went perfectly with the rest of my meal. The food is very well priced, but the cafe drinks are a bit pricier. I would go back to try other menu items and check out the grocery store portion. My friend was very excited about this place. Bcause of she can't stop talking about this place, I felt like I needed to give it a try. Asian ice-cream right? :) I like fruity ice-creams anyways. Long story short, we ordered mango/strawberry ice cream, fruit ice cream(?) and ginger tea. It was very sweet for me, it is still good with the 8$ price. But the other jelly things that they put in there, it tastes like coming straight from mogu mogu drink. Lots of syrup and super sugary. But I REALLY enjoyed the tea, it has a little bit of spice from ginger and a bit of brown sugar. I don't normally eat sugar because of the health reason, so Idk how much would it do to my body with lots of sugar I consumed today haha! This place has a very calm, fresh, clean and organic feel to it. Many if not all the products are local producers such as Randy's Pickles, Pope's, Hartzler Family Dairy, M Cellers winery among other great businesses. The products are wonderful, but a bit on the pricier side. It didn't discourage me from buying a whole basket worth of goodies to take home and try. All of them were very impressive. I ordered a fresh breakfast burrito and an almond café latte at the counter. The staff was polite and prompt. The food was hot, fresh and came out in a timely manner. The burrito was $5.99 and well worth it. I grabbed a hot sauce or two at the condiment bar to go with it. There are plenty of other wonderful breakfast dishes and lunch sandwiches to try too! The store is well organized- it offers dairy/cheese products, fresh produce, wines, spices, snacks for dogs, an olive oil bar, and a nice selection of local beers among many other things. There is even a spot to get things by the scoop such as Chia seeds, beans of all different kinds dried fruits flowers week whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, and heaps of different seeds such as sesame, pumpkin seed flax. There is access to free Wi-Fi and outlets next to some of the table so it makes it very laptop and workplace friendly. If you happen to come to visit this lovely place I highly recommend bringing a friend as they keep the music low and it's a quiet place to have a conversation, read a book or maybe just hang out with your kiddos. read more

My daughter, a medical school student, texted me, " send waffles." During the lockdown we are not getting together. So I had to send waffles, I couldn't go make them for her. I used GrubHub to send waffles from Nature's Oasis. As one would hope, 45 minutes later these incredibly delicious, fresh and hot Belgian waffles showed up at my daughter's home. The bananas and strawberries were perfect and fresh. Plenty of whipped cream. The outcome was many smiles all around. Not just my daughter but her boyfriend were extremely pleased and satisfied. Unfortunately for me, this could become a habit. Thank you Nature's Oasis! I like to grocery shop at Nature's Oasis as well. They have nice produce and a good selection even during the coronavirus lockdown. You can also get pretty good coffee drinks from them. A nice addition to Van Aken! I frequent the Nature's Oasis in Lakewood and was happy to see them open up an east side location in the new Van Aken district. Its especially convenient as its next to GrooveRyde and you can grab a healthy bite here after class. Nature's Oasis is part organic grocer and part cafe. I'll admit that I don't really make this a grocery staple - I mostly just will pick up a few things and hit up the cafe - but all the produce, groceries and packaged foods are organic, fresh and healthy. You can also buy super unique stuff like CBD kombucha and pretty much any trendy health item you could be looking for. From the cafe, I enjoy the ginger tumeric latte or really any of the smoothies. On the food side, the Southwest Chicken Wrap is one of the few meat-based options. The wrap has a satisfying healthy crunch. It has sliced chicken, black beans, mozzarella, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and red onion. I put a little hot sauce on it and it's awesome. You can't go wrong at Nature's Oasis! read more

I have loved this place since relocating to the neighborhood 4 months ago for a lot of reasons, and the friendly staff was one of them. I gave them a ton of business. I especially love the smoothies and hot food bar. But today makes me sour on the whole place thanks to a rather shocking encounter with a snippy blonde woman I've not seen working there before. Just wow! She was ridiculously rude in sharing their new food and smoothie bar hours with me, which contradicted what regular staff there had told me a few weeks earlier would happen. She seemed to take great pleasure in disappointing me and when I said I was sorry to hear that they do not offer smoothies after 3pm, she shot back at me with crazy snark about how it's actually quite good for the staff to stop serving customers at 3pm. Well I'm sorry your customers are such a pain in the ass. I am gonna need to think twice about stepping foot in this place again if she is around. There are plenty of places who treat their customers with more respect and kindness. read more

So I really want to give this place 5 stars, but I'm deducting one because of their carryout experience. The last 3 times I've ordered in advance, I got there at the pick up time, and they hadn't even looked at my order yet even though there were more people working than customers inside. It usually takes another 15 minutes, which isn't a huge deal, and I just know to expect the wait. I love their buffalo cauliflower wrap, and I probably order it once a week! I love getting the pizza bagel with vegan cheese made fresh at the cafe. This is a perfect location right in the Van Aken District next to GrooveRyde. Going right after my workout for a protein smoothie is my favorite thing to do once or twice a week! It is a good place to run to get an ingredient if you are missing something. They offer lots of vegan options which appeals to me. However, I used to come here very regularly for coffee. It does not seem to matter whether no one is in the store or if it is full. It will take about fifteen minutes to make a latte. Also I recommend getting a 12 ounce size because they use the same number of shots no matter what size drink you buy so the larger drinks don't taste strong enough. read more

This place is bomb, what can I say. I love it here. I come for brunch at least once a week. Atmosphere is calming, friendly and positive. There is typically live music every Saturday during brunch time, which is always lovely. I'm totally about green, clean, healthy, local, organic and that's what they specialize in. What a wonderful addition to the Van Aken District! We came as a family during the grand opening and sat at one of the spacious tables to enjoy a happy hour together. The produce is fresh and reasonably priced, the food selection is great and, again, surprisingly affordable. They have a small selection of draft beers and house wines for $5 each, and a full grocery section. I will probably not do my every day grocery shopping here because pantry items seemed pricey (comparable to Whole Foods) but the products are carefully curated and there's a nice variety. Good selection of bottled and canned craft beers as well as a huge range of interesting soft drinks and kombuchas to enjoy in the store or at home. read more
