It doesn't seem anyone follows thru or catches red flags on your imaging or blood work. One main Dr. who is probably in over her head with so many cases in a day. The only one who is considered the naturopathic oncologist is Dr. Huber and she is not practicing... if they are busy ( chairs filled in Iv room)Count on feeling like you get the bums rush. No follow thru. It took me 6 weeks to get my protocol. And when I ended my stay after 30 plus grand I have never heard anyone from there calling to see how I was doing. The clinic says nutrition but once a month someone comes in and does a recipe for keto. No one working with you to change eating or how to. I was okay in that dept. , but 2 people I met were very unsatisfied and they left feeling very frustrated. Not an educational clinic. Don't tell you what cancer is all about . No lectures 1 breathing class by an overworked Dr. I would really research clinics and talk to people who have gone there . You have to change your lifestyle with Cancer to get rid of it, people need to know how to make those changes when they go home... if you spend this kind of money you should get your moneys worth... not too mention follow up. I started at NWB after being diagnosed with Stage 1a, high grade serous carcinoma endometrial cancer. My oncologist recommended radiation and chemo treatment for preventive measures after my hysterectomy, but after much research, opted for holistic cancer care as it is much less harmful to the body. We met with Dr. Huber for an initial consultation, liked what she had to say and felt confident in her skills and knowledge. She was friendly and informative, and was able to answer all our questions without pushing us in one direction or another. She recommended 12 weeks of high nutrient IV infusions, 3x week, hyperbaric therapy and heat targeted therapy. We flew home, packed up our car, and headed to AZ for 3 months. The treatment I received at NWB was topnotch. Every nurse was compassionate, friendly and skilled at inserting the needle for my IV's with minimal pain. Dr. Huber met with me each treatment day to check my progress and make adjustments if needed. I was completely blind-sided by a diagnosis of cancer in September 2020. I had surgery and was immediately set up with an appointment for chemotherapy. It never made any sense to me, that to kill off the cancer, one must poison the entire body and destroy the immune system, but the oncology doctors I saw never offered that there might be alternatives and they were VERY insistent that chemotherapy be started right away. I was so shell-shocked by the diagnosis, that I just went along with their recommendations. I underwent two rounds of chemo (out of six scheduled) that left me practically crippled with severe neuropathy and fatigue, difficulty forming words and sentences, as well as trouble sequencing various day to day tasks. When I raised concerns about all the severe negative effects of the chemo drugs they were dismissed with rote platitudes like, "that's just what we call 'chemo brain'." I started looking for natural alternatives around Thanksgiving and found Dr. Huber and Nature Works Best in the first part of December. (By the way, none of the naturopathic clinics in my area will treat cancer solely with natural substances. All of the clinics I looked into around here (from Bellingham to Vancouver, Washington) required a patient to also undergo chemo and/or radiation.) We read through her research and were struck by the survival rate for patients with my type of cancer, which was over 90%. We (my husband and I) flew to Phoenix the last week of December 2020, and met with Dr. Huber for an initial consultation. I was very impressed that she took the time needed to get a complete medical history and that she was actually writing on a notepad instead of staring at a computer screen. (Studies have shown that actually writing things down helps a person remember the subject matter better than typing into some sort of electronic device. (The Pen Is Mightier Than the Keyboard: Advantages of Longhand Over Laptop Note Taking, Mueller & Oppenheimer, 2014, for one). She was very thorough and asked for clarification on various points, and then went back over everything at the end to make sure she had everything correct. At the end of our consult, she asked me if I would like to come back to the clinic on the next treatment day, try a "small bottle" of the IV solution and meet a patient with the same type of cancer with which I had been diagnosed. We thought that to be an excellent idea, so we did. I wasn't sure what to expect, but figured it couldn't be any worse than chemo. I met a woman named G*** with the same type of cancer and we ended up talking for 2 hours! She was very kind and helpful, answering all of our questions and encouraging us during a very scary, difficult time. I moved to Phoenix two weeks later and started treatment, which consisted of the high nutrient IVs 3x a week and the HBOT (hyperbaric) treatment once a week. I had already changed my diet before going to Phoenix, but I added in scheduled exercise every day. The chemo had left me so fatigued and in so much pain, that I had pretty much stopped exercising at all, but I made myself walk every day, even if it was just for 5 or 10 minutes. I eventually saw all four doctors in the clinic: Dr. Huber, Dr. Lopez, Dr. Mowery, and Dr. Nordin. One of them would meet with me each treatment day to assess how I was doing and to ask if I had any concerns, questions, any physical issues that had come up. For instance, they added additional nutrients to the IV to address the neuropathy and sore muscles with which I was dealing. They each have their own approach within the framework of how the clinic operates, and I found their styles to be complementary. I am so grateful for the nurses and office staff. Sherry and Ashley are the two nurses with whom I had the most interactions. There are no finer nurses out there. Sherry and Ashley are simply the best of the best! They go above and beyond the mechanics of nursing, they get at the heart of it: kind, compassionate, a bit of mama bear when it comes to protecting their patients, laughing with us at goofy, silly stuff, and encouraging us through the really tough stuff. I found the atmosphere in the treatment rooms to be very therapeutic: encouraging, uplifting, healing. Patients shared their stories and encouraged one another through tests and scans, the ups and downs of treating cancer. I am blessed to call many of them friends. I had clean scans at the end of 12 weeks and am now on the maintenance program. I am grateful to Dr. Huber and her staff for helping me through this time in my life, for all the encouragement and compassion they showed me. Dr Johnson was who seen my mother who had whipple surgery for pancreatic cancer and stage 2. She was basically cleared for the moment so we went to nature works best to try to boost her immune system. The reviews are wonderful. That's why I'm writing this review. First off she made appointment and was told to submit paper work and fill out papers from email and upload her doctors papers to them 2 days before appointment or they will cancel the appointment if not received and charge you $75. I hurried and got it to them that day so not late. My mom called and confirmed following day if they received the fax part of it. They said yes. We go to appointment. Over 1 hour away. We get there and Dr. Johnson is saying they do not have the doctor papers from the fax and they could not really do anything for her but wouldn't charge her that day. On way home she gets a call that they just received the fax. Fax doesn't work that way. We go to next appointment and we have questions as anyone would for $5,000-$7,000 a month. My mom needs something, so we went again. She is getting the IV treatment and asks what is in it? They say oh whatever the doctor ordered. Well the doctor only said blood tests good so she was getting the big IV. They tell her she needs ketogenic diet and they would modify it for her. She asks next appointment about modifying it and the IV itself was on a glass bottle I personally doctor says anything in the book. The IV itself was in a glass bottle I personally think in my opinion they reuse. They have stacks of blankets and pillows anyone can use and do not seem to be getting cleaned. The place was not clean. The staff wasn't friendly. The one doctor I kept seeing walking around from room to room with shirt half untucked and hair messed up looking very unprofessional. There are stairs to get into the clinic and cancer patients are weak. My mom had trouble getting up them as I assume most people would. She did receive 2 IV treatments and stares at ceiling when asked a question about anything the doctor should have known. Please be aware there are other places that are clean with fresh IV bags. Clean blankets friendly staff for much less $$. Look lady. We did everything in our power to work with your company. We aren't requesting new drs. We faxed the paperwork. This place is the best. Honestly, the best. I was diagnosed with bladder cancer a few months ago. I did not want to go with the conventional treatments as from what I could see my chances for long term survival would not be good. I decided to go with alternative treatments. I spent a good amount of time researching clinics for my treatments. I chose Nature Works Best based their website and Dr. Colleen Huber's book. I read her book "Manifesto For A Cancer Patient" which is very helpful. Dr. Colleen Huber has helped me a lot. She has contributed to saving my life that is for sure. There is a lot of information out there on cancer and treatments and a lot of it is false. It is a challenge to know what is correct and what is not. Dr. Huber is a good guide with all this. I have found that all the staff at the clinic are very kind and helpful. You need the best when treating cancer and I think this place is the best.
