They do have short-notice availability most of the time. You walk in, and the owner is the one who helps pick out what shade of teeth you CURRENTLY are, so you can have a good idea of before/after success of the treatment. You purchase a specialized tray that holds the tooth whitening gel, then go into the next room into traditional "dentist office" lounge-type chairs where you'll sit for thirty minutes while the gel in the tray works in combination with a special light to whiten your teeth. There's a little airhole in the tray, which is kind of like a karate tooth guard but substantially larger than that. You have a little bowl in case you drool a little (and you probably will); it's non-toxic but it's better to just spit instead of swallow the product. Don't bother trying to bring a book, magazine, or tv show (there's usually something on the TV anyway) - bring some headphones instead, close your eyes, and zone out for the thirty minutes. Repeat customers with their own trays pay about $53 for a session. On today's trip, my teeth bumped up three shades - not bad for thirty minutes! While I wish it was cheaper, I get that there's rent, product, and profit to be made at each appointment. I think they sell whitening pens there too, but I've never purchased one.
