When I first walked in, the receptionist was there and was talking to someone else and failed to say anything to me. Being new, I didn't know if i was suppose to check in or not or what to do. But after standing there and still being ignored. I finally asked and was told sit down. The waxer came out and just asked if it was me, and just walked off assuming I knew to follow her. Didn't say a word to me the entire time. Didn't ask how I liked my brows or anything. She did an ok job cleaning up my stray hairs and getting the job done. So that's why I'm giving it a 3 instead of a 2. I called to book and there was a small stumble finding my information but they called back in a timely manner with everything good to go. They only have the equipment for a hydra facial at the Guelph location, so they offered me a normal hydrating facial for the Waterloo location which I accepted. When I arrived, I was greeted warmly by the staff. It was just me and the nurse/aesthetician working on me so it was a very nice experience. The member of staff was very nice, friendly, and polite. She explained each step of the facial and answered each of my questions. They have a relaxing Spotify playlist playing through the treatment. Unfortunately, they don't have a premium account and the occasional ads took me out of the moment of relaxation but that's alright. They're also doing a great job with Covid and provide you with a stick-on disposable mask to keep on through your treatment. It was a wonderful experience!

I got shellac manicure done at this salon and it got chipped in less than 24hrs. When i went back (in less than 24hrs) to get it fixed the manager was very rude and the aesthetician (Natalie) put the wrong color and the chip is visible. When i asked them to remove it completely so that i can get it done somewhere else and they can keep the money for the service if they want. In response the manager asked me to leave. Maha has a very gentle touch, and when she massaged my hands it was the perfect end to a long day. I will admit that I gravitated to the Asian nail salons in the past based on price. I must say that the prices at Tonyc are not that much higher and can be the same if they are running a special. The products used are not harsh and the air does not have the pervasive solvent smell so common in many nail salons.
