Havn't had many fillings as I look after my teeth but those I have had have not been traumatic. There are 3 dentists in total. It is mainly a private practice but fees are not exorbitant and I believe children of patients are seen free of charge. My daughter and grandchildren go there too-the children love their visits. There is a car park just across the road in Clifton Down shopping centre.

The Practice is light and airy and as soon as you walk in you are greeted by a nice friendly welcome smile by the reception team! Also which is good about this practice is that they open from 9.00am-7.00pm which is so good for people that work late or just needs someone to look after the kids for you while you go. I had doctor Maria Marquerie who is just lovely. She is so jolly and bubbly and just makes you feel at ease straight away. I no I've made the right decision to leave james hull dental surgery who were absolute twats. I defiantly will be recommending them to other people. You'll have a long wait to be seen and it might take a while to get an appointment, but the service is attentive, gentle (good for those with a fear) and they won't give you fillings unnecessary, which is always good! The receptionists are efficient and run a useful appointment reminder service, by text and email if you want it - dentist's have joined the 21st century!

The Dentist Dr Whyte is both highly professional, and reassuring. I have now had a few treatments including fillings, and have not had any pain at all, nor has it been stressful. As an extremely nervous dental patient the service i get from my dentist is paramount and this surgery is, bar far, the most professional, caring practice I have know. My dentist, Ms Barakat, is amazing and has all but cured me of my phobia; so much so that I am now embarking upon 3 replacement fillings and 2 crown. She isn't just good, she's great and I can not recommend this dentist higher.

The first thing I was told was that there wouldn't be enough time for X-rays, which was a bit of a shock as it was my first visit and I wasn't expecting to be irradiated. Next I was told to fill in the paperwork as fast as I could which I duly did. I handed it over, and was kept waiting for another few minutes. Then the dentist who was sitting at the front desk and had addressed me earlier (but had not introduced herself) picked up her handbag and ran to the examination room and I was escorted there shortly afterwards. It felt quite ridiculous. I then had the shortest dental examination I have ever had which lastest about a minute. She was not particularly gentle. I was told everything was fine. I was asked if I was a smoker, and when I said I had recently given up, instead of a little bit of encouragement like 'well done', she said 'well it shows with your stains' and I was recommended the hygienist. I went out to book the hygienist, and the receptionist told me that if I didn't want it, she couldn't make me. I said the dentist had told me I needed it, and she said 'the dentist says that to everyone'. When I explained that I had been told I had some sort of gum disease, she changed her tune. I then paid £16.50 for the worst dental appointment I have ever had. I am going to make a formal complaint, but perhaps giving a bad review on Qype may be more effective. I strongly advise avoiding this dental surgery if you like things like customer service, politeness and someone realising that going to the dentist can be a difficult thing for people and therefore extra effort is needed not less.

I had a terrible problem with my teeth that involved swelling and a lot of pain. I will not judge the whole personel by this rating, but the doctor who treated me was a miserable rude roumanian dude, who was not only bad mannered and made me feel embarassed and uncomfortable about the condition of my teeth but additionally refused to prescribe me with a painkiller along with my antibiotics, and when i asked why his remark was " it is my signature and i do what i want with it".!? I will not condemn the whole clinic for this person but if you visit this clinic, this person is to be avoided.
