When you move to a new city, how do you find a chiropractor? Personally, I'm always leery. After…read moreall, they are manipulating your spine and other joints. Somehow looking through the Yellow Pages is too...too...well...random. So I turn to the people I know and if they're happy with someone, I'll give him/her a try. Problem for me...none of my local friends or family have been. But Helen, my favorite checkout lady at Sobey's, in a few of our chats over the last couple of years has mentioned Dr Katherine MacAdam and told me she was a miracle worker. And she is! Just a few sessions with this very professional, very bubbly chiropractor and I'm a new woman. Plus she has a couple of amazing massage therapists in her office too...but that's another Yelp story.

I have been coming to this location and seeing two different massage therapists for several years…read morenow. I truly can't believe I lived in Dartmouth as long as I have and didn't even know this place existed they are 99 Wyse Road a place to easily drive by but once you go you don't forget where it is. I can't say enough about the skills of Grace and Jora ... And for an old massage pro like me it takes somebody with experience and skills and the ability to cater your massage therapy directly to your needs rather than some of the other businesses that have cookie cutter techniques... And then there's the barefoot massage... Did I say then there's the bare foot massage ... You do have the option to do regular massages however for those of us who have different needs the barefoot massage is something to look forward to on every occasion and you do still have the option within that appointment to still have a regular massage but they have to book certain rooms so you have to make sure to book barefoot even if you're only having about 5 minutes of it and it's so worth it Having never had it done before I was very hesitant the first time and I haven't stopped since ..it just gets into the deep tissue in a way that hands can't but there's some massages that you need that hands are the best options I highly recommend this place for professionalism for ethics for knowledge for location and overall very positive experience every time with friendly front desk staff .. We try on different pairs of shoes before we buy the right one and I realize in a city where there's lots of massage therapists we sometimes settle but we're talking about our temples.. we're talking about our bodies so they should be treated with the best care.. I know Grace is leaving because she's moving and she will be missed deeply but I highly recommend Jora for both regular and barefoot massage When I first went to see them I was in so much crippling pain I couldn't even stand straight.. it's great to be at a clinic where the practitioners actually listen and then set out to resolve so that you can have your best day moving forward until you're next appointment. This will become the treat in your week I promise you

Was looking for a good place to get a massage that was close to my work. I chose massage addict…read morebecause I'd been told it was a good place to get a cheap massage, but, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I didn't find out until after that this is a chain (the McDonalds of massages if you will). The receptionist wasn't very friendly or helpful and the masseuse also showed little to no personality. I felt very much like the next person on the conveyor belt. The masseuse just didn't seem very friendly, the environment was cold. None of the people there seemed to like being there. Just seemed like a bad work environment which was reflected in the attitudes of the staff. The massage was okay. It was a little heavy handed and since I was there for an injury I didn't feel like the masseuse spent the appropriate time assessing the injury itself or talking to me about the pain. Any other massage I've been to they've really assessed what was going on before starting which made me sort of feel like the therapist at massage addict didn't really know what she was doing. I'd recommend going to one of the many locally owned smaller massage businesses in town where the masseuse cares about their work because it's their business.

It was founded by Maxine and Mike Munro who also started the yoga studio and teacher-training program that reside in the same building. I've been a client for several years, popping in periodically for massage therapy treatments. Located on Quinpool Road just across from the Superstore entrance, parking can be a bit of a challenge. But once you're inside the stress starts to melt away. The reception staff is warm and efficient, everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasantly zen without being so serious that you feel like you're not allowed to giggle. I've heard very good things about the nutritional consultations and naturopathic medicine, and I can confirm first-hand that the RMTs on staff are kinda sorta miracle workers. This is isn't the same massage you would get a spa or salon, but I think it's better - a concerted effort is being made to create an environment of calm ... and you never leave the treatment room and get blasted by music and smell of nail polish. Not that I don't like nail polish, but it's not exactly a scent conducive to stress relief (not for me anyway). If you're looking for a professional place that offers multiple "alternative" medical options, give this little gem a try.
