I haven't changed my review for the Fairmont. But I am writing this update as a warning to anyone…read morewho purchases flavorite latés from here. When I came in the Summer of 2025, I noticed they use the 1883 Lavender syrup from France. Sounds fancy right? But it actually doesn't use any actual lavender syrup; the flavor is all artificial. It also contains Red 40 which has already been known to be a mutagen for 20+ years BEFORE, before RFK. My syrup had developed a microbial (bacterial most likely) biofilm and growths within the syrup. My syrup still has 6 months before the expiration date. If the syrup is being used quickly, then maybe it isn't a problem, but I don't think lavender is a super popular flavor. So if you're at the Fairmont, check the bottles of syrup flavorings before you order, especially if it is the 1883 brand. Also, if you're staying at the Fairmont Hotel...why don't they just make lavender simple syrup in the kitchen? You mean to tell me this fancy hotel can't afford to make simple syrup? It tastes better too.

Apparently it's been snowing heavily and due to the heavy snowfall, the hotel could not put up the rink until it would stop snowing. Lots of people were hanging out on the lake. The hotel had ice sculptures and an ice bar. I saw a few horse drawn carriages as well. They had a well lit tunnel. Their lobby was decorated with Christmas trees and garlands. For the afternoon tea, I got the Egyptian chamomile tea. It had sweet elements to it and was considered a flavored tea. I did try it with sugar and milk. Although it didn't taste bad, I prefer to have my tea without anything. The tea itself was good enough for me. In addition to the tea, my meal came with a glass of prosecco. For the food, I got their basic menu which comes with 4 varieties of cake, 2 pastries, 3 sandwiches, a croissant and deviled egg. They offer different foods as well depending on your dietary needs. They have seafood, vegetarian, kids menu and I believe gluten free as well. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My waiter was so kind and helpful. My view from my table was beautiful. I plan on coming back again.

The AAA Alberta beef was incredibly tender and juicy. Alberta really knows its beef! The chicken was unfortunately a bit dry, but the Caesar salad definitely made up for it. This is a nice-simple menu with something for everyone and not an over the top amount of choices. For this reason ordering was simple and our dinner (see attached photos) was wonderful. We were lucky enough to be able to eat outside in the heated dining area. This alone made this experience a once of a life time. Can you imagine sitting for dinner while overlooking Lake Louise. (Again, see attached pictures.) As the sun sets, the view keeps changing which is why I spent half my time eating and the other half taking pictures. We had a pretty wide variety of food and I will say that everyone found it fresh and tasty. People in our group enjoyed the great steak, chicken, and I always love the fish and chip which I seemed to have a lot of while on this journey. The Warm Peach Strudel was the perfect way to end this perfect meal. The service was amazing and our waitress was just fantastic. The was the perfect model meal... The cabin only had two electrical outlets total in inconvenient spots, no hair dryer, no refrigerator, nor a coffee maker. Breakfast in the main lodge included one stale pastry of your choice and a coffee/tea. They do have a small selection of snacks and other merchandise for sale. Additionally, when we checked out by turning in our cabin key we nothing more than a thank you before the young front desk representative went back to texting on her phone. No questions asked about how our stay was or anything else. Would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

Bed was comfy and overall just quaint. Wish we were there longer to relax, enjoy the surroundings, have a fire.. We all had dinner and loved it. Food was delicious, and hot!! (So rare!) and plentiful along with great service. We had a gal who stuck out our crew as we continued to enjoy a few drinks after dinner as we laughed and enjoyed some music much later than was their intention I'm sure. Everyone was so accommodating and we had a wonderful time. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique spot and great food in a proverbial winter wonderland. I'm sure we'll be back!

When we arrived at the gated Lake Moraine road, we were yelled at by the Parks Canada gate attendant which left us shaken, but Rosie turned our day completely around! We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of the lodge. We were also asked if we needed help with our luggage. We asked if they were allowing canoeing, and she hooked it up for us right then even though we were the first of the season. Our room was stunning and they left a really nice welcome gift for us, a chocolate bar and two Moraine Lake Lodge water bottles (metal, super nice!). We loved our little fireplace and we could not believe the view from our room. I took a bath and I really liked how they give you a little bath cube from L'Occitane. Their bath products smell great! When I got out of the tub my fiancé came in carrying a bottle of champagne! He said the front desk staff was super nice in helping him set up the surprise. We had a great time sipping champagne and sitting on our porch. For dinner we ate in the dining room, and the service was very slow... I made eye contact with our server a couple of times to signal we were finished but she still took a long time to come to our table. We were there for more than two hours. The food was good though, just be aware that dinner is an occasion. We walked by the lake after dinner and it was great because there was no one there. The next morning, we got up super early but not early enough to avoid the tour buses. I think they come in at 4 a.m. and descend on the rockpile. That's one thing about staying here that's not ideal. You're sharing the lake, the cafe, and the gift shop with lots of tourists throughout the day. We could not even grab anything from the cafe because the line of tourists at 8 a.m. was so long. The complimentary breakfast was my favorite meal here but you do need a reservation. We asked the receptionist if we could get sandwiches to go ordered even though we missed the deadline, but she said no. It was a bummer- so definitely book reservations and ask for sandwiches in advance if you're not going to be there between 12:30-2 p.m. Our breakfast service was much better! They give you a pastry and fruit cups. It was the BEST PASTRY EVER. It was maple and we loved it; the server was kind enough to bring us another helping without us even asking. We both got a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and homestyle fries. Overall, we both had a great time but we definitely enjoyed the privacy of our balcony the most. If we had more days here we would have opted to sign up the guided hikes. There's not many other things to do here besides hike, read and relax with no pool, spa or fitness center but I do think when you consider having access to lake moraine, a complimentary breakfast and canoe ride, the price feels not as bad.

The other ones are Jasper, Kootenay and Banff National Parks. Yoho is an interesting name for a National Park and comes from the Cree language. It means "awe and wonder". After a stop at Lake Louise and Moraine, we ended up finishing our day at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park. One of the things that I enjoyed about this park and lake was that it was less crowded than Banff and the other two popular lakes. I ended up walking the nature trail around beautiful deep-green Emerald Lake. I enjoyed the views and came across a plaque about the fossil-bearing deposits of the Burgess Shale in the area. Sadly, Emerald Lake was the only area of Yoho National Park that I was able to explore. Hopefully I am able to see other areas like Takakkaw and Wapta Falls, Lake O'Hara and the Natural Bridge next trip.

We stayed at a timeshare in Radium Hot Springs, which was a perfect central location for exploring all three! Yoho was less busy than Banff and Kootenay, which we appreciated after almost a week of crowded stops. Our drive up to Golden was gorgeous in the Fall. We then headed over to Field, to visit Takakkaw Falls and Emerald Lake. Both were gorgeous! We even had lunch at The Emerald Lake Lodge during our visit. You can rent canoes on Emerald Lake. It's cheaper and less crowded than the more popular Lake Louise in Banff National Park. We also stopped to visit Natural Bridge. The glacial blue water was absolutely beautiful. My husband enjoyed the Spiral Tunnels stop more than I did. He found all the placards interesting. It would have been cool to see a train enter or exit the tunnel, but it didn't happen during our visit. Overall, we enjoyed our time here. It was much more relaxing than the busier ones. Don't sell this national park short. If you have extra time, it's definitely worth a visit!
