I was back in Glasgow this month and decided to stay here at Native Glasgow again. I'm glad we did.
This time I was with my husband. The Premium Studio I stayed in alone last time was great, so this time we opted for a premium 1-bedroom this time. It was perfect for two people, with a little hallway and 3 rooms: a bedroom, a bathroom and a living room with a kitchenette. It was really well appointed with a king sized bed and plenty of storage space. The bathroom was large and had some shelving to keep our things, as well as a washer-dryer. The living room area had an L-shaped couch, a coffee table, and a small dining table for two. Both rooms had TVs but we didn't use them. Each room has its own wifi set up which worked great. The kitchenette had everything we needed, including a mini dishwasher unit. I had anticipated using the shared facilities so it was a nice surprise to find that we could wash our things without going anywhere.
Our apartment was in the back of the building, over Anchor Lane. It was nice and quiet, on the 4th floor. The double glazing is great for blocking out sound. Although there was some construction work happening on a few days the disruption was minimal. The central air and heating also worked well so we were always comfortable. The bed was really comfortable. The couch was getting a little saggy but there's good seating and could lounge as much as we liked.
We had very minimal interaction with the staff, but they were great. The front desk got us checked in quickly and easily and we didn't need to contact them again. I received an invoice on check out. The cleaning staff dropped in every other day with fresh towels and emptied the bins. They change the bedding about once a week, which they asked us to select a day for when we checked in.
Native is a great option for any stay that's longer than you want to stay in a hotel but shorter than a sublet. It was quite pricey for weekend nights in August but for me it's worth the overall price for a 2-week stay. It's super comfortable, everything works, and the whole building is clean and well kempt. I think they'd also touched up some paint here and there since my last visit, it's good to see that nothing is falling into disrepair.
