It is very rare that you don't have to line up for a few minutes when you visit a bank, and this is no exception. There I not a great deal you can say about banks. The service is not particularly warm, and except for the really nice man who helped me set up my account, there is nothing worth noting in that department. I guess the best advice I can give is to not go at lunch time, and also to get there by the early closing time of 4.30pm.

The staff do try and make sure that people are in the right place but it does little to solve the fact that a lot of people use this branch. The advisors operate an open appointments system and you book in and wait your turn. The waiting area is acceptable and the branch is bright and clean. Privacy is not that great in branch. There are rooms for consultations but there are also open units which are visible and audible to other customers. It's luck as to where you end up. Staff are generally helpful, although, as with all banks and building societies there is the odd issue. Account opening and maintenance is, in general, hassle free though. Facilities for the disabled are more limited but the branch is fully accessible. New passbook machines have been introduced which allow certain passbook transactions to take place without a cashier - these should help queues as people get used to them but, at present, much help is still required!

It is also a very small branch, with only one cashier person to available to serve customers. At least there is an ATM inside the branch. Halifax at Westfield London is one of two major banks inside Europe's largest shopping centre in…read morethe Shepherds Bush area of Kensington, London. It is pretty handy in its location, with cash machines which can be accessed whenever the main bank is open or closed, perhaps to withdraw cash to spend in the mall. The branch isn't as modern as one would expect as it is a modern mall but basically falls into the average look and feel of a Halifax store, albeit a little smaller. The opening hours are quite useful being open until 18:30 daily, only shutting on Sunday's but this is common for 99% of banks in the UK. There is a small amount of seating, but it isn't the most comfortable or relaxing seating, but it still is one of the better places in the mall perhaps to sit down and relax for a moment, connecting onto the reasonable free-wifi, perhaps to do some online banking, yelping and everything in-between. Location, free-wifi (common for every bank), long opening hours and cash machines make this location "A-OK", a three-star rating is warranted mainly for ease and location.
