I Only put a 1 to be able to warn you all what Jim F. The President/Owner of Anchor Tax Relief in…read moreChesapeake, VA did to me. At the time he told me he could help me and communicate to IRS on my behave about my situation so I paid him $750.00 as per his word. Well, he did not help me one bit as promised, he never talked to them, as I had to go somewhere else and pay them too to help me. He refused to give me my money back or any portion of it as I only had a very brief phone call with him maybe 3 minutes to be exact. Not worth $750.00 for 3 minutes of anyone's time. He wouldn't even give me an itemized statement of my money and where and what is what used for I gave him. He gave me no records of my file and what was done. Ya'll need to run somewhere else right now. I feel he took big time advantage of me I'm a retiree senior citizen living on a senior budget and he knew it too. Very surprising to me he could treat me or anyone like this. My opinion he doesn't deserve your business and it's all about the money, well, he'll never get mine or my family & friends and hopefully your's ever again. I'm thankful I have this platform to report the theft I encountered in my situation with Jim F. He never wanted to talk to me about this except to tell me he wasn't giving my money back. Wow so upsetting and disturbing that my retirement monthly pension had to go to him. Shame on you Jim F. You all Please go elsewhere, if he can do this to a Senior citizen with no remorse he can do it to you. Tax season will be here soon. I'd sure go somewhere else. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I try to point out the fraud I got to everyone to help them. Think about it do you really want to support someone like this? It's a big fat NO!!! To me.

We screwed up some of the information on how we claimed the homes we owned years before we started using him - and he was able to re-file and save us a TON of money we'd missed. However, when we showed up for our scheduled appt (after setting up through the website AND receiving confirmations and reminders the day of), we found the business closed and phone not working. What a waste of time...and we traveled quite a distance with a small infant. Now we have to scramble to get an appointment somewhere else. Shut down your website. Not a classy way to treat people.

Our first appointment with Maureen at reliable tax inc was last year when she filed our taxes for…read morethe first time. When she filed our taxes, she incorrectly misspelled my first name as "Phillip" and not "Philip" which created an issue with tax returns. At our tax appointment this year, we asked Maureen to correct the misspelling in my name and she replied, "it doesn't matter, they only look at the first 3 or 4 letters", and made NO changes. About 3 weeks later, we got notification from the State that our banking financial institute was denying our state refund deposit because of my name misspelling AND Maureen had left out a number of our bank account. Needless to say, we have been on the phone for hours/days with Federal, State and our bank trying to correct this because when we called Maureen to ask for help fixing this, her response was "it was already filed". That is 4 strikes in only 2 tax preps. IMO, multiple mistakes were made by Maureen with no help to fix them. We do not recommend this service to anyone.

I wanted to be safe and have a professional prepare my taxes. My sister ( who lives in another state), had her taxes done - same inheritance income, was NOT taxed on one of our inheritances. Thank God my sister and I compared notes. Maureen made a huge error that would have cost me about $10k. I've contacted her, her office, her Facebook page with only one response from her. I provided proof that she made a mistake and simply wanted her to fix and amend my return. I have gotten zero response. No returned calls, no returned emails ect. As stated on her Facebook page, fair pricing - far less than what the big chains charge. Well- I guess you get what you pay for. I am so shocked and appalled that I've gotten no response in 2 weeks. She cashed my check that I paid for the same day she did my return. She been paid and I was almost out $10k. Now I have another accountant amending my return. Which is more money and a ton more of my time. Stay away! Your money will be taken and you'll never hear back until next year when she's ready to collect your next check. I have contacted the IRS- and my attorney. I do not wish this undue stress on anyone! The only thing I can think is that something shady is being done. Sad!
