The field technicians at United Water Restoration were courteous, responsive, and performed high…read morequality work during both the emergency mitigation and mold remediation phases. Unfortunately, our experience with the company's upper level management--particularly with the finance representative, Deborah Valin--was markedly different. An elderly homeowner was persuaded to sign an "insurance contract" that granted the company full control over the insurance claim while still holding the customer responsible for the entire invoice, regardless of what the insurance carrier ultimately approved. United Water subsequently submitted an invoice of approximately $11,800 to the insurer, of which only about half was initially covered. They later revised and resubmitted the invoice, resulting in an additional partial payment from the insurance company. At that point, United Water sought to collect the remaining balance from us. During discussions with their estimator--who prepared all versions of the invoices--several improper or duplicate charges were identified and removed. A corrected final invoice was issued. However, Ms. Valin later stated that this revised invoice had not been approved by management and that the estimator responsible for all prior invoices was no longer with the company. Notably, every invoice they produced included charges for items we had already paid for out of pocket. When this was brought to Ms. Valin's attention, she stated that the company had already reduced the invoice "more than necessary," refused to remove the improper charges, and threatened to reinstate the original invoice or send the matter to collections. We requested that United Water issue an accurate invoice--correcting both the charges and even the customer name--and assured them that we would promptly pay it. Instead, Ms. Valin declined to make the corrections and forwarded the account to a collection agency. The level of unprofessionalism demonstrated throughout this process was deeply concerning, and based on our experience, we cannot recommend doing business with this company.

By reviewing those previous reviews on yelp, seems like I am not the only one who was tricked on…read moreinvoice by UWR as the water damage sufferer. I have been charged $5900+ totally only for my bedroom closet drying (one guy, 3 dehumidifiers, 3 days). I do not know how many water damage sufferers in FL or the whole US there would be, especially as the FL resident we all potentially get the water damage more frequently than the other states, I cannot imagine if everyone who is suffering by the home water damage, has to suffer with the water restoration invoice trick at the same time like me. I highly recommend those people who had the same experience with UWR please send me a message, I would think about to post the experiences on local public media to help the other peoples.
