My experience with National Floors Direct has been extremely disappointing. On April 22, 2026, I paid a $720.00 deposit for carpet and installation. Shortly thereafter, I decided to pursue a different option and submitted my cancellation in accordance with the company's cancellation policy. I also completed all requested documentation, including the cancellation notice and DocuSign forms. While every employee I initially interacted with was professional, courteous, and informative, the handling of my refund has been frustrating. Despite following the proper cancellation procedures and making multiple follow-up inquiries, I have yet to receive reimbursement of my $720.00 deposit. I repeatedly attempted to contact Regional Manager Frank Murphy and Sales Associate Aden Reed regarding the status of my refund. My emails to Mr. Murphy have consistently generated an automatic response indicating that he is on personal leave with limited access to email and will respond when possible. He must still be on leave, I have yet to receive a response. Mr. Reed's response was to ask why the order had been canceled. However, that information had already been provided in the cancellation documentation and completed DocuSign forms submitted to the company. This left me with the impression that my file had not been fully reviewed, and more importantly, my inquiry regarding the status of my $720 refund remained unanswered As a result, I have been left without answers, without a timeline, and without my refund. Customers should not have to repeatedly follow up to recover money that is owed to them after complying with a company's stated cancellation policy. Prompt communication and timely processing of refunds are basic expectations of doing business. We were told one day that the carpet would be put in and it took about five days for the whole job, and we are still not finished. They understood our situation and just did their own thing anyway. They only accept cash your money order because once they have your money, they just don't care. I would not recommend National Flooring. The work was subcontracted, and the quality control was extremely poor. During installation, our baseboards were damaged, and what should have been a straightforward fix has turned into 10+ separate trips to "repair" the damage -- with issues still not properly resolved. The repeated visits, lack of accountability, and ongoing problems have been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. We expected professional workmanship and oversight, but instead experienced careless work and inadequate follow-through. Very disappointing overall. We recently purchased flooring through National Floors Direct. The sales process was friendly, but the day of the installation we were told we needed an additional $3,200 for subfloor leveling -- something never mentioned during the estimate or financing. After expressing our frustration, they reduced it to $2,500, but we had no real choice but to proceed since our home was already torn apart. The installers were fine, but the communication and lack of transparency were extremely disappointing. Just be aware that subfloor leveling is not included in their estimates, even if your floors appear level, and they can add large charges on install day. I'm very disturbed with the way they're doing business. I was supposed to have my floors done within two weeks, they went ahead and charged me for the entire amount, and then called me to tell me it would be 2 months before I would have my floors done because they didn't have the the tiles that they sold me so I had to wait for the order that was also delayed. Initially our first installation went fine and we loved our bedroom flooring. Although, we felt scammed when the sales guy wanted $100 in cash for him personally, and he wouldn't charge us tax. Clearly this starts off really weird. They started at $13k for my kitchen and we ended at $3700. Whatttt? The installation for my kitchen and entranceway was a disaster. I was told it would take 4 hours and it took 9, which would have been fine, if it were done correctly. The floor was so uneven, my level was bouncing from side to side. National Floors Direct is a disreputable company. Never do business with them! We spent over $6400 for four rooms of vinyl planking to be installed. Several weeks later we noticed a gouge in one of the planks in the kitchen, apparently when the workmen tried to push the refrigerator back in place. After several calls they said the installer would come back and look at it. At 10:30 PM one night the doorbell rings. The lead installer and his girlfriend appeared at the door with no warning. He states they did not do this and said to repair it he would have to rip open half the floor to reach that plank and that we would be responsible for the cost of labor and new planking. Company did not respond to our complaint. After 13 months we noticed a bubble rising up from one of the planks. Our handyman said it was a nail head that was not flattened as it should have been was pushing up from the plywood underneath. Company said it was out of the warranty period and it would be my responsibility to fix it. My claim was denied. Other planks have separated and lifted from its original place. Photos of the exposed nail heads and separation were forwarded to the company and of course rejected. It was a faulty job of the installation and they do not accept any blame for the lack of oversight. Will never use them again and would encourage you to do the same. The company is also being sued by the City of New York for deceptive business practices, false advertisements, poor quality work, and refusing to offer refunds. The suit states when a contract is fulfilled consumers must pay additional costs just to repair the damage to their homes. read more

This company came to put wooden floors in my home and completely destroyed my floors and torn up my furniture. My floors had so many open spaces/faps, chipped up wood and excessive glue when they were not supposed to be using glue. Then the worst part is that they tried to come back and do half ass job of fixing the floors. It took my 4 months to get them repaired even after the district manager Rich came to my home and promised they would redo everything to make up for the Disney land job, in which they left me floors. After he left, he would not return our calls and simply buy, they ate dishonest and do not value customers. My advice to any consumer, is to run and stay away from this place of business as they do sloppy work and cannot be trusted as they have no integrity. we sat with a second rep here in NY who said he was the local manager here and went through every specific question we had. we asked abt moving breakfront and heavy furniture numerous times to which he said "as long as it is empty don't worry we will move everything. The only things we ask that you move are things that you can move by yourself like chairs and small items." I'm so glad. I also have that along with most of that meeting. I took pictures throughout the process and the mess and sloppiness and irresponsibility that was left here overnight between the two days of work was inexcusable. The only saving grace was I did not have any babies or little children in the house. Tools were left out. Screws were left out. Dangerous things were left lying around unprotected. Before they left on the second day, they asked me to fill out a survey which obviously I filled out honestly and truthfully, but everything was super negative. The next day I noticed that one of the planks on the floor was cracked and lifting and a large area near breakfront had large deep gashes which they clearly made as it is in a direct line to the placement of the breakfront which they did. Took THREE MONTHS of no-show appointments, not returning phone calls etc. to fix the horrific installation (end of story, they said they can't fix --aka they don't want to rip out crap-installation and start a new). FLOOR BOARD GAPS: All gaps are randomly different and some gaps are large (a lot of space) Floorboards loose in areas. 3/4 round was not installed properly (wavy along wall, nails sticking out etc, not finished). T-mold does not cover the floor boards (jagged floorboard edges with big gap) not level. Very unhappy with the carpet install in our master bedroom. We had this carpet installed 2 years ago ... at the time of install I had several issues w the way the carpet was installed ... they were not addressed. I was concerned about future wrinkling of the carpet bc it did not seem to be tightly pulled and worried about the overlap of the pad under the carpet. All these concerns were ignored and dismissed. Here I am two years later with wrinkled Carpet, padding that's overlapped and you can feel the doubled up pad in several areas and seams that are starting to show and have frazzles .... Here is a list of our grievances with this job: Start time was advertised as 7:30 AM, they did not arrive until between 10 and 10:30 AM We scheduled this with the salesman for a 2 or 3-day installation and rescheduled other life activities to that anticipated schedule The install team crammed everything into one day not leaving until 9:30 PM that night (on a job that is not completed!) We boarded our dog for the weekend on the assumption that the salesman's schedule would be correct, it was not! We missed our daughter's opening night of her high school play due to this. The salesman indicated there would be no foreseen issues with the subfloor, however, on the day of the install we paid $1000.00 for subfloor correction. The salesman also indicated that everything would be right, cosmetically, and atheistically please, it is not! The salesman suggested that I buy and paint 1/4" round to match our cabinets in the kitchen, which I did on his guidance, that was wrong, as it was 3/4" round. There are two missing interior to exterior thresholds. There is bad trim throughout the job, a total of 6 doors that need to be addressed. The installation team did not attempt to cover any of our furniture or counters, etc. As a result, there is dust everywhere. There was no attempt to vacuum or clean up the floor to a satisfactory state. The installation team was not willing to leave until we signed the paperwork stating the install was complete. We felt that we were forced to sign the paperwork just to get them out of the house without getting the police involved. For the follow-up appointment, we were given a window from 7:30 Am to noon. That window came and went. When I called their "customer service", I was told 4 PM. That time came and went, no call, so we had to call them...again! I was then told 4:30 PM...which...you guessed it...came and went! I called yet again and was told 5 PM.... guess what? Yep, no show! They simply never came to fix their defects...unacceptable! I'm done! I asked to speak to a manager and was told that he would call me back in an hour....an hour and a half later, still no call back, so I called. When I called back, there was no manager available. I was told this time that I would get a call by 6 PM...no call! This company has no concept of customer service! Please do yourself a favor and look somewhere else for your flooring needs.... anywhere else! I've witnessed the disrespectful customer service guided and awarded by the customer service managers and owners. I want to make clear the sales and customer service team are completely different from the team scheduling your initial appointment. Those associates do the best they can while getting blamed for putting customers through to customer service. We, including myself, would get YELLED at for even thinking of helping the customer. The shady sales techniques are promoted by the owners and the trainer will cut you from the team if you have an ounce of integrity and question the unethical tactics. I've witnessed the owners take advantage and disrespect their employees with the wildness amount of profanity and degrading comments towards their employees and customers. They will also cc the entire company and insult the associate to embarrass the employees even more. I've witnessed the owners change bonus structures on a daily basis to not pay out their employees. Anytime a customer did not buy, they would blame employees that set the appointment and have nothing to do with the sales department and curse them out. This had to be the most shocking experience coming from high-level companies. I've never seen such a toxic, corrupt place and the most delusional owners that blame everyone but themselves. I would stay far away from this company as a whole. You won't get anything good out of it, only problems. The sales managers are just a bunch of guys vaping in the back being guided by the owners to just get the contract signed and get the money , the customer service team have 2 mangers that will tell that team to drop calls or not pick up anymore for the day and just leave, the sales team are trained to rush through the contract and avoid crucial areas including fine print and to add no cancelation and customer service are trained to blame the customer that they did not read the fine print. Their bonuses are based off how many customers dont get refunded and will be terminated if they do a refund. Sales person gave me an hour lecture about the "warranty promised me the world about the durability and how they would cover all fees including permitting with this one " I paid over $5000 six months later the floor started to warp I contacted about this so called 5 years of Warranty and was told because it was beyond 3 months I no longer qualified. June 2024 I had an appt with National Floors Direct (NFD) salesman for a 5 room floor installation at my condo in Coral Springs, FL. He gave a price of $7950, but said the price was only if I agreed to sign a contract on the spot & pressured me to give him a $800 cash deposit. He said I had time to have the floor installed as long as I kept in touch with (NFD) & Wells Fargo (WF) finance bank regarding my return to FL (I live in NY) to set up an appt for installation (I did). The installation appt was scheduled for Sept 2024 start date, but I had to cancel the appt & my flight because I broke my foot. I called (NFD) & told them I will reschedule & they said that was ok. I rescheduled for Nov 2024 & they said to call them 5 days in advance for the installation date (I did) & the manager (in Boca Raton, FL) said they are not allowing me to go forward with the installation as planned. They said the offer was ineligible for the 0% interest for a year as advertised from (WF) because (NFD) terminated their relationship with (WF) & that if I wanted the job done I would have to pay the balance $7150 in full a week before installation starts (but I spoke with a (WF) supervisor & they said payment will start when the job is done). I told them that I don't have the full payment up front & asked if there is another way to have the job done with another bank they're using (since they said (WF) was no longer involved with (NFD)). They told me they had another bank, but would not let me apply for the 0% interest with them. I tried to escalate this further through multiple emails & phone calls to customer service with no replies. To date, NO work has been started & they REFUSE to refund my $800 cash deposit. I am retired & on a fixed income. This is unprofessional practice. Their TV commercial is an understatement. They are full of lies & thievery. Think twice & read the bad reviews before hiring them. We had National Floors Direct do an installation at our home last Thursday. Bottom line thier insatallation crew left thr job unfinished, damaged a closet door and put scratches in the new flooring moving the furniture back in place. I tried to work with the customer service folks who, by the way, are the worst in customer service that I have ever experienced ever. I was requested to send photos of our concerns, and they would review and get back to us with a resolution. The resolution was (without sending a rep to see the issues first hand) They gave us two choices we could have them order new base boardo and have itstalled by their folks for $850 or hire an independent contractor to come and clean up their mess at our expense. As of today, we have no resolution offered for repairing the damage closet door or scratches in the new floor. If I could give negative stars, I would! This is an email sent to the company during the 2.5 months it took to install my floors ... To whom it may concern, Again I am having to try to communicate with your company's management. I called yesterday with NO call back from Alex!! On Thursday July 20, 2023 National Floors was scheduled again to come and complete my floors within the last TWO MONTHS! There were 4 additional areas that still needed tile. (Near the family room sliding glass door, family room wall between the two sliding glass doors, at the end of the kitchen counter, and at the front door). They used the wrong color grout throughout these areas. They used a WHITE grout and the rest of the house is light GRAY!!! It looks horrible and needs to be fixed to the correct color. In addition to this, there are several gaps between the baseboards and tile THROUGHOUT the house. This needs to be fixed because moisture will get under and cause damage. The mirrors at my front door need to be fixed as they were cracked when the guys removed the tile. My hallway bathroom tile was cracked when they put in the threshold. This will need to be repaired or flooring replaced because you can't fix chipped tile!! I am so VERY disappointed and traumatized with the service your company has provided. From the beginning,  I was lied to, care was not taken in my home to protect my belongings, more damage was done to create more of an expense to fix,  me and my family (including my dogs) have been in distress from two months of my home being upside-down and not complete in the time frame we were told.(3 days) They never fixed my broken mirrors, broken bathroom tile, and never caulked or sealed the baseboards with the tile. I purchased my carpet back in August of 2022. It was a bad experience from the beginning,. I had asked the salesman for 15 foot carpet and he assured me I would get that. When they delivered it, it was 12 foot. I immediately called the store and the lady told me if I didn't accept the 12 foot carpet I would lose my $2000 deposit. So I accepted it and let them install it. Now this carpet is in the loft of my home where nobody lives. My husband and I live downstairs on the main floor, upstairs is only for the occasional guest. The worst company I have ever had to deal with in my life. The company did not follow their own guidelines of installing flooring in stairstep pattern with at least 6 inches between plank overlap, hell, try 2-3 so the floor looks like I have inserted a zigzag diagonally across the floors several times. The trim on my door was ripped off approximately 2 feet from floor, then attempted to be hidden from me. Freshly painted walls were left dirty black about knee height and had to scrubbed. There was wall damage above where floor boards would cover. They refuse to answer my emails at all. I was not allowed to get in touch with anyone in management, and customer service simply cut me off and said they don't give out management phone numbers if there's a problem. In other words, you have to talk to someone who knows nothing about installing flooring other than to listen to other customers complain. I have a friend who is a professional floor installer (I should have waited and hired HIM when he was available and I would have saved 4k). He was there during the install -- he even tried to help and told the independent installer contracted by National Flooring Direct that he didn't have to listen to him, that the directions were on box and all he had to do was follow them!!! The installer from NFD started loudly saying "You're crazy..." repeatedly and approached him with his chest out in a threatening manner, much like someone who gets defensive because confidence is lacking. My friend never once raised his voice at the guy even through the insults that were hurled his way. I couldn't believe such a scene transpired; we were nothing short of polite with them. I just wanted the man out of my house before a bigger incident happened. We usually tip workers but that certainly didn't happen this time. Customer service has tried to say I don't understand and that doors damaged and walls damaged anywhere are customers' problem and that I don't understand what they mean by stairstep pattern (duh, not that hard and some of the customer service reps (Abby) don't understand what the "at least 6 inches" means when reading it off what I guess is a response I never received. In fact, I never, ever got any response from, get this "Welisten@NationalFlooringDirect.com." And if any damage is not covered anywhere to doors and walls in your house during install, well that means NFD can basically knock down your doors, frames, and walls in your house; anyone signing up for that????? Scam and fraud!! Buyer beware!! Do NOT go with National Floors Direct. They lie and and mislead you to give them a deposit. They also will not honor their lowest price guarantee. This is a SCAM!! Itemized list NEVER received!!!!!! Don't sign anything with them. We scheduled an estimate with national floors direct. As soon as the salesman came in we stated we were planning on going with tile. We told him based on previous estimates the contractors stated that we should take up the tile because it wasn't level. The NFD salesman said that it would take around $30,000 to take up and dispose the tile. We should've known then that this company was shady and couldn't be trusted since we already received other estimates stating that taking up tile would be around $5,000 - $7,000. He then started talking about vinyl being a great alternative and they could lay the vinyl on top of the tile. I told him about my reservation of vinyl due to the vocs and offgassing of the product. He assured me that the vinyl as shaw floors was green guard certified which is the cleanest it can be and that the products were American made. Come to find out that the vinyl is not green guard certified and this product is made in CHINA!!! The only shaw products that are green guard certified are laminate and hardwood. We also gave them an estimate that was completed by Home Depot that included a shaw product. I received a call from NFD the next day who tried to convince me that it wasn't a shaw product which is why they could not honor the lowest price guarantee. After reviewing many of the complaints about their deception on yelp, glass door, and the better business bureau, it was very clear I wasn't the first to be bamboozled by their deceptive tactics and dishonesty. I then decided to call shaw inc. to see if the product that was included in our estimate was a shaw product. Turns out, the product listed in our estimate was a shaw product. This was just another lie I was told by NFD. After sending them the proof that the shaw representative sent me and including her information in the email, NFD came back with having other issues with the same estimate. The estimate at home depot with a similar product from shaw was LESS than $8,000 with the same square feet. They would do everything that national floors direct says that they will do. It was clear that they were not going to accept any estimate. Instead of offering the lowest price guarantee they charged us the highest price. They took more than $8,000 of our money and refused to give it back even after we caught them in several lies. They want to charge us more than $25,000 to lay vinyl over tile. This is astronomically priced and the only reason we agreed to going with NFD was their lowest price guarantee. THIS IS NOT the case. They do not offer the lowest price but try to get customers to pay the highest price. Shameful!! We have asked now 3 times for a deposit to be returned to us because of all the lies we were told about the product. They continue to tell us we can't cancel and they will not send our deposit back. On top of all this we are both combat veterans and they continue to try and steal from us. Also looking on the reviews they steal from the elderly as well. Sounds like a huge scam. I've interviewed twice there with a Hispanic male manager, his name escapes me. He was extremely arrogant, obnoxious, nasty and very unpleasant to speak with. I'd rather not work in the same place as that individual. He left an undesirable impression. Having that individual employed there speaks volumes of how that place is ran. I'm a disabled veteran and was looking for a small business or family owned floor company. My wife and I always want to help the small guy/woman. We talked and met with 3 other companies; before deciding on their business. The main reason we chose "National Floors Direct" was their young professional salesperson. He had all the answers to the test. He was bright and very knowledgeable about all the different flooring. They offered zero percent interest for 12 months. You didn't have monthly payments (had to pay in full within 12 months). Finally; today was our installation. We met the owner Joao Melo and his father. All I can say...Incredible people. It's rare too meet super nice people who are extremely talented installers. If your a veteran or someone that is looking for a fair price and quality flooring, look no further.
