Emotional eating was basically my lifestyle and I knew that I was suppressing many emotions that I didn't want to deal with through food. In order to get to the root of the problem, Nicole helped me to find out what memories from different times in my life were suppressed and which emotions needed to be felt in order to overcome my disordered eating patterns. Come to find out, many of my seemingly unimportant memories had emotions tied to them that I failed to experience, resulting in a build up over time that I continued to cover with food. Of course, my emotional eating brought about other issues in my self confidence and weight. But now that I know which memories and emotions are causing my disordered eating, I have found new coping mechanisms for when these types of situations appear in my life. Dealing with these emotions rather than suppressing them with food has kept me from emotional eating and has allowed me to release the extra weight that I have picked up because of emotional eating.
