When I visited Dr. Nathanson his office in N.Fort Myers, I was stunned to see what I I saw. A staff…read moremember standing by the side of their desk just standing and hollering for next patient. Unfortunately, the next patient had difficulty getting up. I felt the young lady should of offered her help to him, but she just stood there and watched. Next I was led into a so called X-ray Room. To my surprise, the so called foot X-ray must of been from the 50s or 60s. Once I got up on the machine, the safety arm was Very loose and Vert UNSAFE. Lastly, The Tech had no saftey wall like all offices do for their staff. She stood behind a thin wall for a brief second. Next she had to retake the X-ray and the poor girl just held her head down while clicking away for a Xray. What kind of Drs. Office would have such a outdated equipement and doesn't protect his patients from falling off an outdated X-ray machine. And not pervidering better safty for his staff. I will not return.

I came here because I got a splinter in my foot while on vacation from New York. The gentleman who…read moretook my information was very nice. The doctor seem nice at first and proceeded to shave the skin around the splinter. I do not do well with pain and the doctor was openly frustrated. He proceeded to tell me I needed to have the site treated with a burning numbing agent and injected with a needle to further numb the area. They were then going to use a device to remove a circular portion of my heel. I was disconcerted by the prospect and asked if anything less invasive could be done. "What don't you understand?? You keep pulling your food away and we have to numb it!" said the doctor. His condescension so repugnant I immediately walked out. I went home and successfully removed the sand spur from my heel myself. Thank goodness I did not allow them to butcher my heel and ruin the rest of my vacation.

Dr Chad Simmons was great as was his staff. His assistant Felix did my intake and xrayed my foot…read more Dr Simmons took plenty of time to examine, diagnose and then explain treatment options. We decided to go operate and cut to the chase. I was scheduled for surgery a few days later. Surgery at the Lee Memorial out patient center no problems, Went back yesterday for 1st post op visit. Felix xrayed me and Dr Simmons took off the bandages. Again he took plenty of time to explain everything and was very through, back again next week to remove the stitches. My wife had to call the office the morning after my surgery as we were confused as to my medications. Felix again took the time to explain everything in great detail to my wife. In this day when everything to do with health care is a mess, it was a pleasure to deal with an entire staff that all spoke perfect English and went out of their way to make sure I was treated very well. Outstanding all aspects of care from Dr Simmons and staff!

Most outstanding in my mind is when I went in recently to have a troublesome nail removed and he told me he would not do it because he could not find a pulse in my ankle. He immediately referred me to a radiologist where it was revealed that I had a 90% blockage in my left leg. An angioplasty two weeks later solved the issue. Dr. Grillo's diagnosis and subsequent referrals to both the radiologist and surgeon probably saved me from massive complications on down the line. I will always be grateful for his care and I am glad he is on my personal health team.
