I have been with Dr. Grillo since 2003. We are a Military Family and I have seen my share of Podiatrists all around our wonderful country but I have to say that Dr. Grillo is by far the BEST!!! I have complicated medical conditions--Scleroderma and Raynaud's Diseases both can destroy and cripple your body and especially your feet. Dr. Grillo takes the time to investigate any issues his patients have and then works with you to keep your feet as healthy as they can be... He learned so much about both my diseases that he has even given talks to Scleroderma groups about we can keep our feet healthy. He is truly a wonderful, caring, compassionate Doctor who cares about all of his patients! His entire staff is fantastic, friendly and will try their upmost best to help you with any issue you may have... It is actually a pleasure to go to my appointments as I know I will feel so much better after I have seen Dr. Grillo and his staff because of the work they do on my feet. They all work wonders with my feet and they all make sure that I am a happy patient! I wanted to take this time to reflect on my experience with Dr. Grillo and his staff. I suffered with a fractured toe for twenty years. I am an avid runner and cyclist. Dr. Grillo was my second opinion and was highly recommended by my neighbor who recovered so well. My first appointment was like a stage performance with Dr. Grillo's office staff. Everyone had a part and all I could do is applaud them. They were very professional, friendly and experienced. Then I met Dr. Grillo who took his time answering my questions and explaining the pros and cons of surgery. He thoroughly explained my X-ray. I left his office with a feeling of relief and trust. He is extremely passionate about patient care. Expect him to take X-rays, suggest medical boots, medical shoes, compression socks, sneakers, provide his cell phone number for after hours, crack jokes, be serious and straight up. As a teacher I am on my feet all day. For the past two years my foot pain has been increasingly worse. I thought it was just Plantar Fasciitis. Under Dr. Grillo's care he discovered a torn tendon in my ankle. After trying all non-invasive procedures, Dr. Grillo told me that surgery was my best option. I was beyond sad because I knew how difficult this would be during the school year. From the get go, Dr. Grillo was so helpful and accommodating. His main concern was for me, not my work or my insurance - me! He even came in two days after my surgery on a Saturday to change my bandages - on Christmas Eve! When my regular podiatrist was booked a couple of weeks out and unable to fit me in for a painful foot condition, Dr. Grillo made time for me. I was so impressed with his office staff. From the first phone call, they treated me as if I was a long-time patient and friend. I found Dr. Grillo to be knowledgeable, professional, and direct (like a friend would be), yet also very compassionate and caring. He took plenty of time with me, explained things very clearly, and ordered the necessary tests. Too often, people are quick with their criticism, and slow with their compliments about a service or product. In catching up, I want to extend an overdue appreciation to Dr. Joseph Grillo. Dr. Grillo takes a personal interest in getting to know his patients, and explaining a route to his assistance to his patients.  He is a good listener, displays attention to detail, is conscientious, and has a high energy level.  Where there is a sense of urgency, he explains this to his patient.  His entire office staff is also outstanding. Having had surgery on both feet in prior years I've come to recognize the importance of the initial pain and lack of mobility. Recently I couldn't exert any pressure on my heel. I went to see DR. Joseph Grillo, Fort Myers. WOW! This is my kind of doctor. Straight to the point, described the issue and treatment. (I had a strained Achilles tendon). Simple and direct advice, get rid of the 'so-called' support sneakers, wear a compression sock and get the recommended shoe/sneaker to support the foot properly. I had a great experience With Dr J Grillo and his staff. They were so nice to me and Dr Grillo was so honest and compassionate and honest with me and my situation. I'm diabetic type 1 and he said I was not a good canidate for an operation so he gave me a boot to wear to help me with my tear in my achilles tendon. Dr. Grillo and his staff are wonderful. I have a problem with my foot and they were able to get me in the day after I called. The entire staff in his office are so nice and friendly. Dr. Grillo examined my foot, he was pretty sure what was wrong, but wanted to take x-rays. The x-rays confirmed what he thought was the issue. I left with a boot and a prescription for therapy. Dr. Grillo is terrific -- he had a "less is more" approach that I really appreciated. I went in believing my toenail would have to be removed. He said "let's try cutting it back first and then keep an eye on it." He cut the nail very slowly, a bit at a time, always asking "Is it okay if I cut it some more?" His staff are also excellent.
