Plan on leaving vehicle its electrical that stuff takes time. Price is higher then other shops in area I deal with but I come here bc they know how to fix and or install that which the other shops can't within the day most of the time and price is good with me. As a Mechanic recommendation I say Deal.

My friend recently spent $1300 with Hi-Bean Eectric trying to fix/trouble shoot an issue with his classic car randomly shutting off.. It was suggested the issue might be electrical. My friend took his car to Hi-Beam and paid them about $1300 to have the electrical re-wired. Long story short, he ended up taking his vehicle there twice for this same issue. When my friend picked up the vehicle the 1st time, he immedately noticed the gas tank was on EMPTY. In all fairness my friend don't recall exactly how much gas was in the tank prior to dropping the vehicle off. It's a classic car he's restoring...and didn't drive it much because it clearly needed repairs. But my friend estimate the gas tank was about half full. My friend owns multiple luxury vehicles and it's never his routine to leave any of his cars on Empty... My friend didn't make much of the issue, just knew he needed to get to a gas station quick! On route to find the nearest gas station he and his classic car ended up CONKING OUT on the street. He ultimately stopped near a body shop that ended up helping him get gas in his car enough to make it to the gas station.. On another day.. He was driving the classic car testing it out...and his car ended up stopping on him again...right in front of Hi-Beam Electrical Shop.. Because he recently had them re-do the wiring to hopefully fix the issue with the car randomly cutting off...he had them take the vehicle and check it out again.. This time he observed that his gas tank was close to FULL. Hi-Beam had his car 2 days and my friend called to check on their findings.. Not to mention when he he called, they denied that his classic car, the make and model was even there. My friend had to explain to them a few rounds before somebody remembered his car was actually in their possession (over the phone). My friend was told, he needed a new Carburaetor - it was burning too much gas.. At that point, it was time for my friend to go get his car and now get to a Carburaetor Shop. When he arrived to pick up his car, he checked the gas tank and noticed, the car is AGAIN, back on EMPTY! My friend has driven the car...and it's not burning gas fast enough to even dignifly it being on empty.. My friend laughed and told the guy, "You guys burn a lot of gas here"... hinting at his car going from Full to Empty in 2 days.. The guy told him "yeah we test the cars a lot".... and took offense to my friend pointing out the gas tank being on EMPTY.. My friend told him, "I just put over $40 dollars in the tank before it was dropped off here.. The guy at Hi-Beam being defensive, grudgingly said "We will give you the $40 back to not loose a customer"...basically. My friend did accept the $40, reminded of how his gas tank mysteriously ended up on Empty the 1st time.. and now on Empty again... Not to mention, my friend drove past Hi-Beam Eletrical a few times during the past few days and noticed his vehicle was always parked in the exact same spot, each time he passed by there... So he took the money and left with his vehicle. While ultimately getting compensated for the missing gas... it's the "how did that much gas leave out his gas tank" for me... Nobody there could explain how his car ended up on EMPTY.. Saying we test the cars a lot...don't clear that.. when the car cutting-off issue still hadn't been repaired.. How much driving could they have possibly did in a vehicle that won't stay on?? I just needed to report this expirence because my friend is not the type of guy to complain....he will just be frustrated and leave it alone. But because I've been on the phone with him during his repar journey, I had a 1st class seat to these experiences...and if he won't say something about it, I will! It's not okay to treat customers like this...after spending $1300 for work that wasnt even necessary...then to have his gas removed...and then get defensive because he pointed it out... This is Unprofessional behaviour!!! And it's not okay! My friend will never do business with them again... nor will I or anybody else we know! And if you choose to take your car to Hi-Beam Eletrical in Los Angeles....just know they have some sort of Ghost hanging around there to steal your gas when you leave your car there.. I now wonder if this ghost is removing the gas or possibly joy riding their customer's cars...? Idk...but go there at your own risk...and def have a back up plan for gas when you pick your car up!
